I'm reading members regretting this tour isn't supporting a new album release. Yet we're getting massive pre-release publicity for the Wings Over America and Rockshow DVD reissues. I'm personally expecting to see this tour support that release with the set-list and possibly the stage presentation having more than just echoes of that original 1975-76 tour. I recall recent tour material supported and promoted the Good Evening New York City CD and DVD release so expect to see Wing Over America and Rockshow feature heavily in the tour programme. So maybe not new songs - but different ones? Not long to wait now until the grand unveiling of the new tour - the new staging itself seems to be upping the ante from recent tours already.... Martin
Looking forward to both Wings over America and of course Rockshow but cmon its been 6 years since Memory almost Full its time for new material surely?

and 2 hours is considered short for one of his shows; his average is 3 hours.
Seen him twice in '09 and '12, both shows were just under three hours. Same length as Paul's in recent years. The difference is Bruce's shows have been that long for years. Whereas Paul's keep getting longer and longer.

I love WINGS OVER AMERICA but I think it is weird if McCartney does a completely new tour to promote a re-issue of recordings released over three decades ago. All I mean is it would be cool if he plays two or three new songs, even if the new CD isn't released yet. And why call it OUT THERE?? Why not McCartney OVER THE WORLD!!

Actually Springsteen's set lists don't vary all that much, either. On his recent tour last year I was looking through the set lists for various shows, and I noticed that he had 2 basic set lists and he usually used one or the other, every other night. He might switch out a song here and there but he followed those 2 basic set lists.
Untrue. I have seen Bruce live many, many times and can promise you that he swaps out more than just 1 or 2 songs per night. Last fall I saw him play two shows back-to-back and there were about 15 different song changes from night 1 to night 2. He does have a "core" set list which he builds the show around, and there are certain sections which remain the same during a tour, but he's far more flexible than Paul is, and as each tour progresses, the set lists become more and more varied. and 2 hours is considered short for one of his shows; his average is 3 hours.
I'm going to see Bruce Springsteen in June for the 1st time, what from I hear his shows are pretty long esp the encore.
Have fun I have seen close to 300 concerts and Bruce is the only one I walked out of after 5 songs.it did not go well at all and he was an hour late starting. I never expect any to start early but damn, the ticket said 7:30 and at 8 the arena was only half full so I went to the restroom and one of the guys there told me he never starts earlier than an hour later than the tickets state. then he was hard to understand singing and talking. then he started his BS of a political nature so that was enough for me, I do not come to hear that crap. Odd thing was when I left there was six other people walking out the same exit. Maybe i should have stayed he has music i like but I do not care for the way it all went down that night.

What about Elvis Costello's shows? Didn't he do some type of request show by spinning a wheel? OMG...would that take Paul out of his comfort zone or what? Although he'd have his all set to his faves.
I have seen two of Jackson Browne concerts (acoustic solo ) where fans were requesting songs by yelling out and there was times when he would say OK that sounds good and play it..I have seen him change his mind and play something different because fans were yelling out.

Who cares about Bruce. All his songs sound the same and he extends them like they're awesome and they're not. Could have walked 5 minutes down the street and saw him with Obama, stayed at home and watch Paul on youtube.

Exactly i just find it a bit odd to go to this lengths over the stage etc without a new album to sit on the back of it now what im hoping for is for Paul to say mid concert this songs of the new album released whenever etc,i doubt very much sadly but i hope im wrong. Does this tour has anything really to do with the reissues surely not? given Pauls been very active (thank god for that too) i dont remember any of the other re issues having anything to do with that tour. The tour name doesn't bother really im not sure what its relating to to be honest but as with any artist i see i remember the person not the tour name. My grumbles aside im looking forward to the tour when it reaches dear old blighty

I just find it odd that people are getting so "excited" about a different stage. McCartney playing new songs from upcoming record or Wings/Solo songs that have not been done live before would be the only thing to excite me about this tour.

There was no starting time on the ticket when I saw McCartney at Citifield. Gates opened around 6:30p and McCartney did not hit the stage until almost 9p. Opening act started about 1 hr after gates opened and believe they did around 40 min. There was no mention of opening act unless you were on this board. A year or so later, I saw McCartney in Charlotte NC and he did not start until about 1 hr after start time on ticket. In other words, Springsteen is not the only one who is late.

Didn't Spingsteen do a 4 hr concert not that long ago ?

"Wings Over ______" was a popular phrase.... So "Wings Over The World" was a mildly amusing play on words for him, back in 1975-1976, touring with Wings. Paul was hardly the first person to ever use "Wings Over _____" in a title. "McCartney Over The World" just doesn't have the same sort of 'pun' on the famous phrase, that "Wings Over The World" had.

Yes. Springsteen played 4 hours & 6 minutes in Helsinki last summer. He also did 3 hours & 48 minutes in Madrid. (Bruce fans time all of his shows ;)) As I said, 3 hours is his *average* show length; sometimes he doesn't quite get to the 3 hour mark, and sometimes he goes well over 3 hours. And before people start griping about Bruce again , I think the fact that Paul is playing for nearly 3 hours at 70 years old is wonderful, I hope he can keep up the pace this year!

I understand all that. But with these concerts supposedly promoting a reissue of an album by a band he is no longer in, it does create some confusion. I actually LIKE the OUT THERE tour name. It would make more sense if he were promoting a new CD called OUT THERE instead of a reissue of an album from over 35 years ago.

I don't really look at this tour as promoting ANYTHING. Just an excuse for him to play in front of adoring audiences. Which is reason enough.

I can accept that. And to be fair, McCartney has not said anywhere he is promoting WOA or a new CD. All that is being speculated here. To be fair, McCartney HAS mentioned recording a new CD for months now.

And if we are honest enough, that is what he has been doing since 2002. McCartney, the Stones, etc. their "new" albums really don't have the impact they once did. Most attending their shows want to hear the old hits.

Just three days to opening night. I'm sure there will be some Beatles / Wings songs that were not performed during recent tours.

I'm confused--I've never heard "Wings Over The World" as a 'famous phrase' prior to Paul and Wings. (and I was 21 in 1976 btw) Maybe you were thinking of "Moon Over Miami" or something like that.
