Prediction: Last night's set was "phase one" of a transition that will come into fruition in 2013.
what about the "he should retire, he's too old, his vocals are shot"? he's quite the same of the Paul in the Olympics, that was only 4 months ago... anyway this seems like a Frank Capra movie, everything goes right in the end, the good guy is finally apreciated... life is fair and all that... It almost makes me want to cry, Christmas or whatever it is... Everybody has good and bad days, that's all. Pavarotti went off-key a freaking 7 times in just an opera (kind of 10 minute of singing) and he still was considered the best (some asked for their money back, I guess, lol). If you haven't failed is because you haven't tried. He almost loses it at Blackbird, btw. "on nii-i-i-igghght"

Wow, they did not seemed that enthused about McCartney's set and song with Nirvana. Don't know what concert they were at. LOL
LOL I know!! Do you believe it : well he also called Kanye's set a Force and unless he's referring to the Force I called the Attack of the Sub Woofers...it was not my favorite set. The base on those subwoofers in the theater where I saw this, made it hard to breathe!! Still, minus the comments on SirVanna's new song, which I really really enjoyed... I liked that the review went through and commented on the whole show...

There's little that I can quibble about. He nailed everything, really, but if I have to pick & peck, Paul still needs to get out of the habit of wearing "mom jeans." I loved the light color; he looked like a glowing prince last night. Just don't like the cut of jeans that he wears. That is literally the only thing I can complain about last night's set.

Just catching up now - saw the setlist on Twitter and thought it was bound to be fake! And did a little search this morning and saw some positive tweets re the voice which is always nice But Paul.... those jeans?
See??? It's not just I who notices that Paul wears "mom jeans."
Some are saying that they look like the ones he wore in Help! Maybe the actual ones! lol
Some of the moms really "liked" the jeans My girlfriend kept exclaiming throughout the entire Paul bit, how much she liked seeing him in jeans...over his regular trousers and braces. I liked seeing him in jeans as well... Are you all saying that you like the trousers and braces better? Why are we quibbling about jeans.... Paul blew me away last night with his performance!!! It was sooooo amazingly great and we have to find something negative Well at least it's just jeans this time!! AMAZING SHOW Just can't stop the high from seeing so many of my favourite artists playing together for such a good cause. It made me very very happy... can't wait to get the DVD

I can't top that new track, Ollie. I was pushing it when I tried "Soily" earlier this year.

I am SO freaking angry....stayed up late to watch it, and right after Chris Martin performed, which was about 12:30AM here on the west coast, the TV station switched to wrestling!!!!!! I never got to see Paul!!!! I am going to contact the TV station and let them have it.

Which network did you watch it? I had my TV on G4, which played it in its entirety. AMC did, too. But I watched most of it at hulu.com but had to switch to YouTube when hulu pulled the plug right after "Helter Skelter."

LOVED every minute of Paul's performance, absolutely brilliant!!! Paul looked good and sounded great!!! Wonderful performance by Billy Joel, quintessential New York - very well done!! Other favorite performances of the evening were Bruce and The Who! Very touching to see the support from the English artists, many thanks to all of them! Thank you to everyone that donated to this very worthy cause!

That happened alot on the east coast too. I watched on AMC and thankfully they stayed with the broadcast. The whole thing clocked in at 5 hours 51 minutes. Paul came on the stage around 12:35 a.m. or so. I agree, the dad jeans got to go. He's worn nicer jeans than these in the past, they look so 90s. The way he's wearing his hair now, I notice in Houston and St. Louis that stubborn piece of hair that kept hanging down in the wrong place. Methinks the latest is a new combover to disguise follicle deficiency...couldn't hide his Friar Tuck patch tho!

Yes, cheers to AMC in Canada played it right through to the end.

And cheers to this thread for NOT doing that crazy time-travel thing when we were all posting like mad-men last night.

Does anyone know of a rebroadcast???? Unfortunately, I have a fever/cold rigth now and couldn't say up late Fortunately, I programmed the DVR to tape until 1:00 eastern time US on AMC; unfortunately, it cuts off right at the start of Cut Me Some Slack that I saw on Youtube early this morning! Here's hoping the networks cut people like me some slack and rebroadcast

well, I'm doing it right now, lol, well I have stopped to text here... here I go again... D minor... (playing guitar) ,.. (coming back after playing guitar) I guess nobody in this world beside those 4 knows what Paul says on the bridge

Dad jeans? I don't follow. He looked good in those jeans. Far better than he has looked in some of those Nehru suit collars he wears. He looked comfortable and relaxed. Frankly if you look at Krist Novoselic's pants, they are at the same level on Krist's body as Paul's jeans are on Paul's body. I don't see "dad jeans." I just see jeans. And he fit those jeans quite well.

Literally just got home from the show--I've now been awake for 30 straight hours. I have some video and photos to post and will do that later tonight, but I just wanted to say that I thought Paul did well, with the highlight for me being the Nirvana/McCartney collaboration, which is going to be on the Dave Grohl-headed documentary "Sound City" which is set to be released in February. Studio recording of this song will be on the soundtrack. I agree about the setlist being a bit odd...not my first choices with some of those songs, but hey, he sounded better than he has in a bit, which I also thought of the St. Louis performance. Maybe he's finally seeing a vocal coach? What a night...
Thirty hours???? Sounds like jetlag and just as much fun as going abroad. Get some good and long sleep.

it is an indoor arena so why be surprised at his voice. he should just stay away from outdoors as he is always on last, in the cold and damp air.
