Just my overall impression. My friend read the complete article too and said....."Damn, she was a real bitch!" I sorta couldn't disagree. Sorry, Yoko.. -
I was thinking about Double Fantasy the other week and I was planning to make a post about it on-line somewhere but I can't remember now if I did or not?
Anyway, what had occured to me was that if John hadn't have been killed, and if he was still making and releasing albums, would Double Fantasy be all but forgotten today? I think DF was John's 7th album proper but had he not died, he'd probably be on something like his 21st album by now. It was just a thought that had crossed my mind.

Yeah, for someone who rebelled against his Aunt Mimi's controlling ways, he sure seemed to like Yoko's managing of his life! (And he called her "Mother!")

I think John's contribution to Doube Fantasy contains some of his best songs.
Woman, brilliant.
Watching the Wheels....spine-tingling.
Starting Over.... a little of Elvis.
Beautiful Boy.... beautiful, moving song. Was it not one of Paul's faves?
I love every one of those songs John contributed to that album.
If only they cast aside Yoko's contributions ( a couple of them were OK) and instead included the great Nobody Told Me.

I'm not generally a fan of Yoko's music, but her songs on Double Fantasy are very solid and play well off John's. And her idea of alternating them as a sort of dialog was the absolute right call.

Agreed! John wrote those songs to Yoko as an equal partner and it makes sense that an album titled DOUBLE FANTASY would have Yoko's songs alternating, in my opinion.
