Thanks Briaboy...That's very respectable for basically a covers' album.

Like Beatles4Ever I'm not a fan of Rap but I have to agree that Idris Elba's remix of Long Tailed Winter Bird is very catchy. I have a couple of questiions now that the physical album/CD is out:
Is Idris Elba's Long Tailed Winter Bird remix been issued as a Single in Great Britain as a companion 45 to the album?
For my brothers and sisters who live in the UK, is Idris's remix getting any radio airplay and is it on the British Singles' Chart?
________________________________________________
Please let us know? As I said, I think the album being #13 on the charts is pretty impressive. I guess the telling sign is if it has any legs and stays on the Album Charts.

You don't have to be from the U.K. to find stuff on Google. This shows vinyl album with Idris Elba's song included. Pretty sure it is not being issued as a single anywhere.
Paul McCartney (@PaulMcCartney) Tweeted:
'#McCartneyIII Imagined' arrives on vinyl, CD, and cassette on 23rd July!
All physical copies include Idris Elba’s “Long Tailed Winter Bird” remix. Pre-order: #ThreeImagined https://t.co/xEeg2YsJcs https://t.co/wOrYU4F57p

Anyone seen this in the last couple of hours? McCartney III Imagined enters U. S. Billboard album sales chart at # 1! Don't know if that will translate to #1 on Billboard 200 album chart, but pretty darned amazing. Would love to see the new deepfake Find My Way single really ignite and get into the Hot 100 singles chart. It totally deserves to be a proper #1 McCartney single. Would take a miracle these days but who knows? His deepfake young Paul video is heading towards 4 million views thus far ...

Great for Paul that McCartney 3 Imagined is charting so well! Hopefully it will bring the original McCartney 3 album, which I absolutely love, a lot of positive attention.
I just listened to McCartney 3 Imagined for first time today, and unfortunately I can't say I liked it. I'm glad for those that do like it though, I guess it's just not for me. -
I had a feeling Paul would do something like a remix album with his voice not as powerful as before
tunes are great just does not match his voice
so here it is
Can not buy McCartney Imagined ( I would have used the word re-Imagined ) on this site as they dont ship to Australia
enjoyed McCartney 111
Think I will enjoy McCartney 111 Imagined a little more

I would love to know that too. It should be getting airplay in Britian. Idris is popular there, so it should. Plus he could play it hiimself. Isn't he a DJ? Happy the album debuted at #1 on the Billboard chart...on sales of physical units. Paul is out there still!!! What an achievment!!!

I'm in the middle of watching Idris Elba in the movie Suicide Squad right now on HBO Max. Not for the faint of heart!

So is the success of this due to the "McCartney music" or the fans of the artists that did the songs? So am I supposed to get excited that artists changed his music and it is more succesful than his own album? Maybe we can all hope "McCartney III Imagined" gets Grammy nominations instead of the original "McCartney III" because the Grammy voters will like these artists more than Paul -lol.

You're probably right! (the latter sentence)

Is McCartney 3 Imagined really more successful though? The original album debuted at #1 in the UK and #2 in the US so it was very successful on its own.
Either way, in my opinion the original album is vastly better.

I agree 100% McCall. I've said this a few times before...imho there are only 2 Songs on McCartney III Imagined that are only slightly better than Paul's originals. They are:
Women and Wives - yes i like St. Vincent's remix/alternate version a little better because it is so well done with all the extra's they added (sax, great guitar solo and bass, great piano at the end and the background soul-like singing). Still, Paul's original is very good
Deep Down - Blood Orange Remix - I like it better mainly because they put in that funky piano groove that sounds an awful like Paul's own "1985" from Band on the Run. That the bit in the song that I like so much whereas Paul's original drags a bit. Still i Like Paul's original.
I just want to see Paul (for once) handed on the stage the "Album of the Year" Award and Trophy. Imo...He's so deserving and I got my finger's crossed. I know it's a "pipe dream" but let's hope.
-
The other point about the success of McCartney III Imagined is that "Chart Success" is all about "timing and competition". It seems like McCartney III Imagined dripped just at the right time to ensure Chart success. Looking at actual units Sold, Paul's numbers for his "Original" were so much higher. Sitll if it helps Paul get some Grammy nominations, I'm all for it.

Time will tell, if "McCartney III Imagined" is more successful. Like almost all of his recents albums, "McCartney III" entered the charts with a splash but sadly fell very quickly. Let's see if "McCartney III Imagined" has longer life on the charts.
I am not into remixes and if I want to listen to Paul McCartney music, I want to hear Paul McCartney play and sing the songs.

Yankeefan...The fact that McCartney III and Mccartney III Imagined both hit the charts at #1 (or #2 in the US) in the same year (2021) really helps Paul's chances in my opinion. Doing this feat should help Paul's original album score at least a couple of Grammy's nominations. That is just a gut feel on my part. He's had Grammy nominations before with Chaos and Creation, Tug of War etc, but my dream is that he "finally" will get the coveted "Album of the Year" Award. That's my hope anyway. LIke you say...we'll just have to wait and see.
