5th-beatle:
I'm glad yo know fans enjoyed a great show! Hopefully someone will soon provide soundcheck and concert setlists.
FYI not sure how many of you know of this website but it's pretty cool. Basically got every setlist to any show you can imagine (or in recent memory). It's fun going back here from time to time to look up old setlists and relive great nights! Here's the one from my last paul show in DC, for example. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/paul-mccartney/2013/nationals-park-washington-dc-7bd956d4.html

Wow! Even hours later it's amazing just how incredible that show was last night! First off, Paul's VOICE was so freakin' good on everything that I thought it was even better than seeing him in 2009 and 2010. There have been discussions before about it and believe me, he's in GREAT shape! Really mind blowin'! And I Love Her sounded so good. What fun to hear Hi, Hi, Hi again live. And also so glad to finally hear Lovely Rita live, always been one of my faves from that album. Okay, one moment that was pretty neat came about from my daughter. We were in the 6th row and as Paul was talking before he performed Here Today, he was telling the story about having that conversation with someone that you wished you had done. Then it's too late. He had just made that point about missing the opportunity to say what you want to say when my daughter blurted out "I LOVE YOU PAUL!" At first I was petrified. Oh how could she pick such a moment to lose control like that? But it was perfect! Paul laughed. The crowd laughed. Paul said to her "That was good". She made his point. Just an amazing night for everyone in the arena. Yeah, a tough night for some as Paul did love to play up his Nebraska knowledge. (he he.....lol) Even when you know what's coming during the show, the performance and brilliance still surprises and satisfies you!

Brilliant moment! How old is your daughter?
-
She's 19. She and her slightly older brother first saw Paul in KC in 2010. She cried then and she cried last night.
-
Nice recap, Brady! So glad to hear you had a great time and Paul was in good form. Reading all these reports gets me so anxious for Candlestick.

This is a great story - thanks for sharing. Maybe even better than the selfie with Warren Buffett and Macca!

OMG that was your DAUGHTER!!!!! Good for her. I wanted to scream that myself but I'd already done it in soundcheck - LOL! Brady . . . you know where my team loyalties lie . . .but I'd wear a big red N anyday if I could be 3rd row center for a show like that every 6 months! As we agreed last night . . .I do think this show outdid KC 2010. You already know the songs, you know the stories and you still have an absolutely brilliant time. It's like going to a movie based on a true story . . .you know the end and you're still enthralled. BTW, I lost 3 lbs yesterday . . .I'm trying to figure out how to turn this into some sort of weight-loss system w/o it costing $150o/day . . . I took over 100 pictures and when I get them uploaded to FB, I will make sure the link is public and posted here. Here's just a taste (if it works) ... RED JACKET! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152497243016422&set=a.97671531421.114948.725406421&type=3&theater

GBR!

Soundcheck songs that I can remember: I'll Follow the Sun Ram On Every Night Lady Madonna Things We Said Today Let 'Em In San Francisco Bay Blues One After 909 I know there were more . . .someone wrote down a list at dinner! There was a group of Univ of NE students allowed in for soundcheck. As soon as I see the acoustic guitar come out I start screaming my head off for "Every Night" (which I know he's done in s/c but I wanted to make sure I got to hear it). So after I'd screamed it like 3 times, one of the students says "Every night . . .what?" :
-
I would love to see Things We Said Today added into the full setlist. It's one of my favorite tracks from Tripping the Live Fantastic (live album from 1990 tour).

I wonder what would have happened if someone had yelled out "Alligator" several times?

LOL - I don't know. They sorta looked at us like we were a bunch of old people acting like 16-year-olds . . .not that we cared!

http://fansided.com/2014/07/15/nebraska-cornhuskers-give-basketball-jersey-sir-paul-mccartney/ Right now Macca seems to be sticking a little more to a single setlist - I wonder if that is due to the recent illness. Hard to complain when he is giving us a 2 hr 50 min show. RamblinRed
Poor Paul. Hope he left that in Lincoln.

It was great meeting you guys, too. I really hope our paths cross again one of these days (you will do your Joe Pesci voice for me, right?) We're all la famiglia when Paul's in the house! Barb says hi back . . .have a safe trip to KC . . .I don't have to tell you to enjoy the show! P.S. He read all the signs...I honestly think if I'd been at the rail . . .maybe?!

Two people at our table wrote down the songs, although neither knew Celebration. I also remember Blue Suede Shoes.

I loved that part of the show! Congratulate your daughter! Only unscripted moment of the night. Being on the far aisle seat in the front row, I had to fight off people trying to get me to move so they could take pictures all evening. I finally got sick enough of it that I went to security and told them how much I paid and not to let anybody else get that close to me. It's not right when they just start trying to nudge you so they can get a better angle. Must have been some ashes after Live and Let Die as Brian Riddle came running over and had security take a fire extinguisher to the other side (Brian's side) A 20 something woman was trying to get past the barricade between where the seats start and the floor barricade began. That would have put her backstage. She was not taking no for an answer from security, so Brian got involved. I do wish I could have heard what he told her. He came back by me laughing and shaking his head. Brian can be my bodyguard any time.

Nice! Can't wait to see more. I wonder how many colors he has of that jacket?
