Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors

Andrewhh:
- Appreciate (as you say, probably quite likely) - Alligator (maybe less likely, but I'd love to see it!) - Early Days (maybe a small chance?) - One After 909 (maybe a moderate chance?) - Coming Up (played a lot in soundchecks) - Jet (played at one of 3 Tokyo shows last time, not at all in Osaka) - Junior's Farm (played a lot on the Out There tour, but not in Japan) - Venus and Mars/Rockshow (played a bit on the tour, but not in Japan) Cheers, Andrew.
As much as I would like "Junior's Farm" to come back, it won't. It's been replaced by "Save Us".

I predict less songs from NEW in 2015 than more.

Mmm. I reckon it'll turn up at soundchecks periodically though.

Me too. Probably 2 different songs to creep in at the expense of a couple of New songs.

Save Us and New are in. Queenie Eye is probably out. Everybody Out There will most likely stay.

nobodytold me, could you expand on this? What happened? I'm thinking of VIP tickets for Amsterdam but they would mail the hard tickets when I'm in Europe already. Will call would be better option but I don't want to have issues the day of the show.

5th-beatle:
Do his Euro concerts usually offer the "will call" option to pick tickets up at the box office?
They certainly do, but never ever ever do that with standing tickets, that screwed me over in Bologna so bad, worst place I ever had during a McCartney gig because of the total incompetence of the organization in every single way thinkable. Always go for e-tickets, gives you the full flexibility, also in terms of when you have to sell your tickets on.
Ok, ready for that can of worms? It's very unlikely you will get any organizational issues for an event in The Netherlands, but with general admission standing, and without the tickets in hand before you go to the venue, I would never be too relaxed on it. Really, go for e-tickets, that's just the default option over here anyway. Print at home, go to the venue in all calmness, join the "queue" whenever you want for the spot you want. What happened in Bologna was that, apart from the already pathetic organisation in terms of public transport (no lines to the centre, after the show 2 busses waiting for the 10,000 attendees, then none for an hour in freezing cold), toilets (none) and food stances (barely) outside, they didn't give international buyers the option to deliver the card at home. No worker at the scene knew where the box office would be. Hours and hours later we were pointed at 3 little booths at the other side of the venue (entrance) where we could queue up. Another hour later, the doors already opened at this point, they finally started working on getting the tickets to the people who bought them. Ticket by ticket, ticket by ticket, ticket by ticket. Did I mention it was freezing? The queue must have been all around the parking space by now. Then, finally arrived at the front of the box office, it appeared they split the tickets in terms of ... whatever, I believe CreditCard agencies or ticket agencies (why would you even have more than one simple ticket agency anyway). So almost everyone stuck at the very front had to switch to the left or right. It was a nightmare. It took them a few minutes to get them to the, completely unsorted, enveloppe with the tickets, and off we went. I think it was too dark at this point (late November in South Europe) to get a good picture of the situation in, otherwise I would have posted it. By this time, the queue for the venue was just as long, step by step, step by step. At some point I think the security just gave up on this whole situation, and suddenly the queue disappeared. It appeared that after the ticket scan everyone walked in. Because of all this drama I had no opportunity or time to get the usual pre-show beers and food in, so my bag was still full of cans. No problem, don't even think they looked at anyone carrying anything. This was a nice treat for my walk inside the arena, but of course you've got to get that last toilet moment in after all that: another 30 minute queue to the 5 little toilets. And this was only the men's queue. After this I finally found a place, at a side, it must have been at 30 rows back, crammed in between heads, the lights went off and 'Magical Mystery Tour' started. If they would have just either sent off the tickets or open the box office before the doors opened, I would have been front row. The view:
From this moment on I forgot about everything, and I must have been in heaven when he dropped 'Come And Get It' and 'The Word' on us like it was nothing. But still... I've seen countless of festivals, pub gigs, venue gigs, arena gigs, stadium gigs, sports events and what all not from Australia to Europe to North America and back, but I never was shocked in this way. And we had to PAY for this! Like said, this won't ever, ever happen in The Netherlands. But never Will Call/box office pick up for me every again (outside my own country). -

I could see that. What I can't see is adding Appreciate of Early Days. Not at this point. Maybe a year ago. That ship has sailed.

I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with the Will Call option. It has always worked well over here, one of the reasons being that tickets can be collected at the box offices from a few days before the concert up to showtime. By the way, the Liverpool concert had no Will Call. All tickets will be sent in the mail. I e-mailed them asking what it's going to be like in Amsterdam, but they haven't got that info yet.

As I replied to you earlier, I checked the Amsterdam venue with another show and they had the print yourself option available with a bar code.

Thanks, hopefully it will be like that for Paul's concert as well. I have just received an e-mail from Event Travel (who sells the VIP packages) and they confirmed that even though the merchandise is collected by the customer at the vanue, the tickets are sent in advance by mail.

Every show i went in the Ziggo dome was with e-ticket to print. Perfect.

Theoretically. It didn't work in Vienna. They were too late sending them out so after I (and probably a couple of others) had e-mailed them that we probably wouldn't receive them in time if they were mailed (because I went to Vienna a couple of days before the concert) they decided not to mail them at all. Instead. there was a special queue for us where we got the merch and the tickets (which no one ever looked at - it's still pristine).

I would say a slight chance for "Appreciate" in Japan if the robot comes along!

It would be easier if they just gave the tickets and merchandise at the venue on the day the concert, instead of using the mail. Too risky.

I could see him sneaking Appreciate into the setlist for one of the Japan shows. By the way, was Albany the only place where the band performed the alternate Appreciate-like intro to Live and Let Die? -Rubber Soul13

I agree with you. Being that Japan has already seen the latest set list containing the 4 songs from NEW, I can't imagine Paul not giving the fans there something "different". My guess is "Appreciate" , "Alligator"...or possibly "Hope For The Future".

There was a very weird intro to Live and Let Die in either Dodger Stadium or Candlestick. I can't remember which venue. But when it began I recall thinking...what IS this?

I'd love to know what the setlist was for those aborted shows just 6 months after November 2013...

1 part snarky + 1 part truth: I've always been DYING to know what the setlist was like for the original "aborted" 1980 Japanese tour.
