Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors

i am thinking that is why he only played one night in Chitown instead of the rumored two last year as this may of been in the works. also update on the Citfield rumor-don't see it happening Foo Fighters are there for two nights and Zac Brown Band in August; a reliable source with the Mets said there are no other dates on hold for concerts as of now.
I doubt that Paul will only play Lollapalooza and Firefly. However the other announcement didn't seem to allude to other dates being announced EDIT: They said this: "The festival appearance will form part of Paul?s 2015 tour which kicks off in Japan at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka on 21st April. Paul?s tour will then see him appearing in Tokyo and his first-ever concert in Seoul. From there he will visit the UK, France, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware." "will form part of Paul's 2015 tour" ??????????????????????????
In my opinion, there's no way that his 2015 tour doesn't include more U.S. dates. It would be strange for him to play two random festivals over a month apart in America without any U.S. shows in between.
-
I'm gonna guess now that Firefly is a one-off, and he's going to do several shows to coincide with Lollapalooza.

If anything, more U.S. dates could be added after Lollapalooza. Paul's appearance is on July 31st, which leaves August wide open.

Or before. European tour ends July 9th. That's nearly three weeks. Surely he would want to warm up beforehand?

Now with the Lolla announcement I think we can sit back an wait for more US dates. My guess is he adds 2-3 dates around Firefly and then a 2-3 week run around Lolla before his late summer family vacation in the Hamptons. Probably primarily a NE/Midwest Tour imo. RamblinRed

Here is an article about that "radius clause" that Lolla puts into the contracts restricting performers from playing near chicago. http://mic.com/articles/91181/how-one-insanely-popular-music-festival-is-keeping-you-from-seeing-your-favorite-bands

I agree that there could be shows both around Firefly and Lollapalooza in the U.S. The Yankees happen to be away from June 25-July 2, so I wouldn't be surprised if he plays a show at Yankee Stadium then.

If it's "insanely popular" why do they care? :

Great news...as said, now we just gotta sit back and wait...I think anything is still possible...but we're definitely getting something in June/July/August

Marshall Arts said these are "at the moment the only US dates" but that they are "always adding shows" and "thank you for your patience". I'm guessing more shows are being negotiated. PS, Bobby, I highly doubt Yankee Stadium will happen that week.

Awesome news. Hopefully we'll here more US announcements soon! How does the MSG schedule look for July/August? -Rubber Soul13

U2 is booked there July 18-31 August only has 4 events scheduled.. the 4th, 8th, 19th, 20th. Billy is currently the last scheduled MSG gig the month of August. August seems do-able for MSG.

Thanks for contacting Marshall Arts and sharing their info with us! I am feeling more hopeful for summer shows in the US now! This is looking to be a very busy summer for Paul!

Great news of Paul at Lolla. Are there any really big festivals left for him to do?

I agree that he is probably the exception to the rule , but you never know. The article says that even tho Lolla now sells out every year, this rule still seems to be put into the contracts.
-
That rule is smart business. And while Lollapalooza clearly doesn't need McCartney on its bill, I agree that they would make an exception for him.
