Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors

I think we're going to see some surprises this year. A lot of top artists have been touring Australia recently, maybe he'll finally get back there. Europe and the U.K. are certainly due for some Macca.
Important to keep in mind just how vicious the backlash was post-Jubilee + Olympics, in 2012. The 3 year break from UK shows was needed to allow all of that to fade from memory. But Out There was (in my opinion) his best run of shows since 2005, so I hope the UK gets to see it at some point.

I have heard a rumour he is headlining Firefly festival which is in the middle of June. Could well just be a rumour and nothing to it but the official lineup is released soon so we shall see
-
Lots of people are now saying its confirmed, so it looks like he'll be in Delaware sometime between June 18th-21st.

Interesting! While reading the lineups for JazzFest and Bonnaroo, which were both just announced the other day, I was wondering whether Paul would be doing any new festivals this year.
-
Good catch! The people at Inforoo seem pretty confident: http://inforoo.com/thread/33700/firefly-2015-u2-3-nights?page=18 It would make a lot of sense anyway. Since 2013 he's doing US festivals regularly - before that I think Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight and Coachella were the only festival sets he did in his whole career - and this one was rumored in the previous 2 years too. He - surprise, surprise - don't seem part of the EU festival headliners that early season, and after the ones he did in 2013 and 2014 this would be the most plausible one over there. And it's a great thing, McCartney at a festival: a whole new crowd who would maybe never buy an expensive ticket for a standalone gig, and the reactions are always great. And it makes me glad: I will be back at Glastonbury in that period, if he would once again do a rare gig in Europe JUST in that weekend, like which was the case in 2013, I would go bonkers, hahaha.

This pretty much confirms a US summer tour, yes? Like we didn't expect that already, though. I'm guessing Japan in April or May, the US in June and July and South America in November. Sounds about right.

Any idea when the lineup will be released?

Seems likely some US east coast dates in June, likely to be NYC, Boston, Washington DC, Philadelphia. The usual suspects.
-
It seems the Firefly Festival lineup will be announced in late january / early february, so maybe Paul's team will announce his tour dates in Asia soon afterwards? By then, April will be just a couple of months away, after all.

They weren't usual in 2014; he skipped them all! But I do agree, I think this year he will hit them all. He played Philly in 2005 and 2010, so he's due to come back this year for sure.. right?

Yes. And everything is relative. When someone plays certain markets every other year, that is the usual suspects. Compared to a certain market he never plays!

Here we go again, waiting for announcements! Looks like the first announcements for May 2014 shows in SA and Japan happened in March. So we probably still have a bit of a wait.

I know that it does actually seem that that may be the reason he kept away, unfortunately.. but i do hope everyone remembers any "backlash" was not by fans, proper fans didn't care and just wanted to see him - it's sad if paul or his people do listen to twitter idiots and social media (and a few newspapers) none of whom are fans, they just like to comment on anything and everything, the meaner the better

The lineup for the Firefly Music Festival will be announced in the next couple of weeks, according to the director of the festival: https://fireflyfestival.com/dont-worry-love-know/

I have just received two tickets from Paul's 1989 and 2003 concerts in Paris, which were coincidentally sent on the same day by different people from different regions of France and delivered together. Maybe it's a sign of things to come?
