Is It Me? Or Are People Posting Less These Days?
-
It used to be not so long ago, if you didn't visit for a week, all the topics would be changed, and your own post would disappear into the back pages. (Archives???). Not so much any more. Kinda sad. Where are all the Paul People? The Pandemic made me visit more. Of course I may be the weird one..........

Some people, like SusyLuvsPaul and SurSteven have disappeared. Others like LovesToTravel don't post as much now.
Considering Paul isn't on tour right now and McCartney III Imagined was released digitally in April and just last month in physical form, there's a fair amount of posting on here.

Most fans are posting on the Steve Hoffman music forum site these days. For example, the McCartney lll thread currently has 1218 pages of posts, although to be fair, they do lack posts about freckles and dodgy beards.
And of course there are also the numerous social media (facebook, instagram, twitter etc) pages to contend with.

I only come here twice a day and look at The Beatles', Paul's, John's, George's and Ringo's Twitter once a day. That's enough!

Yeah, I've heard of Hoffman. Even visited once. Not like here. I'd rather hang at Paul's offical site.

When I first started posting here several years ago, there were numerous people posting. Now, it seems about five people post.....the same five. The site seems less less accessible, for one thing, which has discouraged people...IMO.....Maybe they have moved on to other Beatles' related groups. I joined one of those and tons of people from all over the world weigh in on any number of topics every day about all four Beatles....all the time. I only come here maybe once a week....and see what Nancy, Toris and a few others have to say.

Yes, there have been threads and comments created about Paul's beard and hairstyles over the years, and even discussions about his clothes and shoes... but to be fair, I don't think there's been any posts or threads about his freckles! That would be far too personal! He doesn't seem to have any... but-- we don't really need to know!

oobu, that is the weirdest I've ever seen his beard! Looks like he had just cut the one side and stopped!
P.S. Just noticed all the freckles on his shoulders!

That was me who mentioned that in one particular photo where he was tanned and shirtless you could see freckles all over his shoulders!
Go to Newest, then page 2 on the Paul McCartney Picture Thread.

All I know is that I didn't start a "Paul's Freckles" thread... but maybe Nancy can!

IMO most of the posting was done while he was on tour. There would be posts about getting tickets, what cities he was playing, his setlist and then actual concert reviews for example. Paul McCartney is 79 years old and just is not making news as much as he once did so there is less to discuss unless you want to relive the past. When he releases a new album there will be a bunch of posts discussing it but that will stop after a month or two. There will be a few others like BJ who try to initiate new topics by creating posts about project he would love to see McCartney do in the future. Finally, IMO most of the members here are more "Beatle Paul" fan so they really willl not post unless it is a Beatle related project.

Hmmm...it's true I haven't seen a reference to Wings in a looooonnng time. But we used to talk (fight?) politics, religion, travel to previous concerts, amazing trips to England, almost anything. We used to have a fellow we dubbed "The Philosopher" who waxed poetic on all manner of things. I think he went by LCH, or Lan. Haven't heard from him for years now. (where are you, Lan???). A lively bunch. Life gets in the way I guess. "Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end....."

A lot a lot less. I used to stay up late, not wanting to miss the activities and then wake up and check again and find some of my posts on page 3 or 4. Energy creates energy - the more that people posted, the more I read, the more I posted and the more I created new threads too. There were some threads that I learned to ignore - because of the person posting wanted to be a jerk to everyone. Overall it was busy and fun. Now I can post something, go on vacation or be busy for the week - return here and still see my post on page one.
It was fun to post and feel like you knew the person like a friend ( I'm sure there were some not to be trusted from what I heard or saw, but in general - people were good and who they really were online and offline).
What a major change. I get concerned if this board ever just drops out. I am not on those other sites or face like things either.
So glad that those reading this are here today. -

You missed the photo in the Paul picture thread. They are all over his shoulders (not his face) Oobu24 posted it on 8/10/21 here:
