"Out There" 2013 Setlist Critique and Suggestions

left hand man:
Sometimes I think people try and pass off their personal feelings about some songs onto McCartney.
I think that is a totally astute and valid observation. Especially when they think they know the reason he adds or drops a song.
-
Well then, I guess no one should have any opinions about Paul McCartney since no one REALLY knows what he is thinking. :

I'm not saying don't have an opinion, but no one should try to guess what he is thinking. Let Me Roll It to you... :

No one did that. We are just speculating. Is that ok? :

Paul has blatantly said time after time that he stops playing a song when him and the band are tired of it, and they keep a song in the set because they love playing it. Then, there are the elite few that are "untouchable"...Hey Jude...Let it be...yesterday...band on the run...live and let die I love talking about the setlist but everyone on here gets hung up on the same damn "issue" over and over again on here. :

We do seem to go in circles; don't we? I've reconciled my issues with "Out There": Going forward, the best remedy -- for me and fans similar to me, who view Paul as a current recording-artist -- is to attend Paul's shows when he's promoting a new album. I can watch oldies concerts on PBS for free.

I've said it before (so definitely going 'round in circles!) but am surprised why interviewers don't try to get Paul to explain his set list choices! Bruce Springsteen plays arenas/stadiums and does mix things up from night to night.

This is very logical to me. If I want an oldies act, the I want the HITS!! All the way through. No obscure oldies, what's the point in that??

They got tired of playing HOPE OF DELIVERANCE after four shows? Sounds weird to me, but if that's their choice, they got tired of it, ok. Aren't they tired of LET ME ROLL IT yet? That wasn't even a hit.

They are playing Let Me Roll It with a new feel; faster, swinging it a bit, straight into a blistering Foxey Lady.

Foxy Lady has been part of the song for several tours now, I can't even remember when he first added it.

Maybe it's merely the power of suggestion, but I kinda' agree.

Sounds great! Paul cut his hair and he looks really good, IMO.

I remember it was the second night in 2005 shows. Not present in 2002. Foxey has a beefed up production since 2012, similar to Back In The USSR ending. In 2011 and 2012, Paul was still doing the teaser of ending LMRI, but now he goes straight into it.

No doubt it is a great tune, and the band enjoy playing it.

Wix what "issue" are you referring to??
-
I don't because those live performances made me appreciate those songs even more! Speaking of Highway and Sing The Changes.

It first appeared back in 03 and it's got gradually longer since!
