Set List critique

There are no seats at Brazilian stadiums. Everyone standing up the whole time. The same goes for the floor section of his upcoming indoor arena concert in Rio. Therefore, it's not possible to upgrade anyone. However, there are seats at most of his shows in other South American countries, and front row center seats are not available for sale, just like in the US. Now let's speculate: any possible setlist surprises in november? I'm hoping for something from New, Venus And Mars or At The Speed Of Sound. In fact, a lot of people (myself included) have asked him on twitter to play Silly Love Songs with his Rickenbacker bass. How cool would that be?
My speculation? Not a damn thing is gonna change.
I still think it's highly unlikely that he would do "Silly Love Songs" since Linda was so integral to it, not to mention the live horns. Fun to think about, though, especially his bass playing.
Unfortunately, Paul's voice can no longer maintain the vocal-chops needed for that song. It requires him to hold out some very lengthy notes -- and while playing bass, mind you. No way he can sing that song anymore. Abe would practically have to sing the song for him.

I would like to hear "Why don't we do it in the road" during the Brazil tour.
-
Unless Paul & Co. have extra rehearsals to go over new material, I predict the set list in Brazil will be exactly what is has been.

Perhaps "Letting Go" or "Rockshow" could return to the setlist to promote the reissues.
-
I predict at least one "unusual" song, like Hope Of Deliverance. I also hope he will try some songs from NEW at soundchecks, like Appreciate, Alligator, On My Way To Work, etc.

I hadn't thought about those long notes. Great point. He can still scream "Helter Skelter," but sustained high notes as in "Silly Love Songs" or "No More Lonely Nights" are just not realistic. Or maybe he could recast them in that ghostly high voice he used for Kisses On The Bottom. I think he will change a few songs for the South America leg, though.

Should Paul choose another "cover" song from Beatles period, which one would you prefer? For me "A taste of honey" would be cool!!

He did Long Tall Sally with Nirvana at Seattle last year. That's the one I'd like.

But even "Hope of Deliverance" has become predictable for a South American crowd!

He also did Long Tall Sally at Candlestick, too.

Is it me or is all of a sudden opening with Magical Mystery Tour for the last few shows of the tour kind of weird? Personally, I think Eight Days A Week or Hello Goodbye are much better openers. Drive My Car as well. I can see if he decided on a NEW opener he has yet to play. But Magical Mystery Tour seems a bit anti-climactic. Probably not if you are in the arena for the show.

It's an amazing opener, but it's so weird to use that one now again since 'Eight Days A Week' is a fresh one for many territories, and 'Magical Mystery Tour' was the fixed opener for the US tour in 2005! Also, all this talk about a new tour is making me nervous. The choices are always so off... 7 times 'I've Got A Feeling' and 'Ob-La-Di' for me, please play 'Hi Hi Hi' and 'Listen To What The Man Said' once outside the America and Asia... 1,5 years into the tour, still not even a glimpse of one EU gig :').

All good points. Yeah, it IS a great song. And I suppose one could say he is "mixing things up." But I know if I was waiting to hear Eight Days A Week, I would have mixed feelings. Maybe he's getting ready for Brazil, which I think already had Eight Days a Week when the Out There Tour opened there.

Yes. Something out of the blue. Never played. THAT would be cool.
