Set List critique

I believe there was some conversation regarding "Jet" in Paul's setlist. With the exception of a few "smaller gigs" in September 2013, as well as some sound checks, Jet has not been performed since the "On The Run" tour in 2012.
I've really missed it on this tour the past few years. I'd love to see it return for whatever 2016 has to offer!
and...it had cool graphics on the big screen too!

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but his vocals have been quite rough on that one, too.

I can't say I've seen a recent clip of it that would support either "side"...but it rocked every time I saw it till he dropped it!

It always works great live. Tokyo 13 it sounded terrific.

OK, not as horrible as I'd remembered, but still rough:

He played Jet at Tokyo Dome (2nd show I think) 2013.

Maybe I'm thinking of that Radio 6 thing from when NEW came out.

You're right, Robert (thanks!)...forgot about that show on Nov. 19.

Mr. McCartney is fine on songs like "Save Us", "Jet" not so much - lol.
-
I thought both clips sounded fine! It may be rougher around the edges than the recording, but hey...I like it!
-
Jet still sounds great in a concert situation...and audiences love it.
-
I'll grant that.

As for the BBC performance, at the time, it seemed to me like Macca might've been physically worn out by that point of the promo-tour. Perhaps a show too many, too soon. But better than when he sang "Jet" on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

I agree, folks love that one, opening or as a second song.

Maybe it's just me...I still love it!

As far as Beatles songs are concerned, I think that "I'll Be Back", "Martha My Dear" and "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" are within the realm of possibilities for this year's setlist.
-
At this point, my expectations are modest. I just want one total, complete, out-of-the-blue surprise from the post-Beatle years -- Getting Closer, Wanderlust, Run Devil Run, Friends To Go -- to give the hardcore fans a lift.

I know I am repeating myself, but I will even be happy with a fifteen minute montage/mix/medley/homage/shortener... eight or ten "lesser known" songs done (but the post-1980 songs that many fans on this board all want to hear!).... I'd prefer half an hour of it! An hour... Two!.... At least.... But, I'd like a nice little homage to the last 30+ years, even if it is condensed... a minute here, a minute there,,,,, but at least some kinda acknowledgment of that great period!.... Ten in ten. Or whatever.....

A montage is a good idea. Just something to shake it up a bit. I remember how psyched many got when he introduced a "new" song last year... Temporary Secretary (which I know many don't care for). But it was something!
