Set List critique

Well, at least Paul has saved me some serious money. Nothing really new here at all. I'll be skipping this tour. Disappointed.
I understand, I have not seen him since 2010 and doubt I will again. Not worth the money at this point to get pretty much what I have heard in the past in a better voice.
2009 was my last show. Nothing on the horizon that would make me travel to see him ever again. On the positive side, I am glad casual fans in other states are having the time of their lives. Good for them! Now they'll all think he wrote AHDN!

together with nearly the same old story line all feels like an jukebox which need an update and that's at the beginning of a 'new' tour P.S. should there is a further tour after "one on one" I'll surely wait for setlist before I order tickets next time. @Mr.Martinez + yankeefan7 + ... we're sitting in the same boat now!

It was obvious there wasn't going to be any major changes to the set list when they only spent a couple of days rehearsing. In order to make the kind of changes people want the band would probably have to put in several weeks of rehearsals.

of course no one really expected any major changes. But around 3-5 'new' wings/solo songs would have been possible. It's known that the band rehearsed nearly the complete 'NEW' album in the past... I'm sure there is something more we don't know till yet...

Back Seat Of My Car Tomorrow Big Barn Bed Helen Wheels Beware My Love And add Mull of Kintyre as a regular to the set. People know the song!!

My final thoughts on the "One On One" tour:

________________________________________________________ Ane, You hit it right on the head! I said pretty much the same thing on the Fresno Live thread the day before the show. I didn't expect much in the way of significant changes in the Setlist for the exact reason you give above. It does take a serious commitment of time (3 or 4 weeks in my opinion) working with the band to come up with a creative, imaginative and great "new" setlist. I understand the need to still perform the "signature" songs (about a dozen of them) but the rest of the setlist are mostly the same songs from the last tour with a rehash of a few songs he did back in 2005. It showed practically no imagination. The shame is that Paul still loves to perform. Not many of the greats still have the drive to perform non-stop like he does at 74. The real sad fact is that he has the Catalog to show the world that he has many great songs beyond the Beatles. But this takes time and commitment... something that he is unwilling to do. Unless this setlist changes as this tour continues, I will not attend when he comes to Philly and New York. And like many on this Board, I am one of his biggest fans ever.

I am extremely disappointed. Woke up at 4 ldn time to stream concert and it became a major joke. I was at around 30 live concerts and now feel like in a trap after this stuart bell shit in announcement. Brand new bla bla bla.... Horribly taken for an idiot. So many fans are regular macca goers he really doesnt think that there are many new fans at his concerts? Come on an the same stories told agaiiiin and agaiiiin its like a cover band .....M P L staff pls show balls and tell Macca to review this set list....and print out our feedbacks He loses his fan base a bit. I even think to sell my tix at ebay....and love me do, puhhh its a second class song keeping in mind how many great tunes are not in the set list yet.... And in the middle of the concert are too many ballads this time.....where are songs as beware my love, house of wax, we got married, young boy, etc etc Harleyblues....i know you chat with brian and the boys sometimes....they should really wake him up a bit. And for pros they dont need much rehearsals...spoke to a pro musician within 2,3 hrs the song is perfectly learned....

At least it's different!

some new songs are good(Here, There.. and Fool on The Hill <3), but Benefit Of Mr Kite if annoying me, really! I love to listening to it, when I am listening to full Sgt Pepper. But here it is altered as stone to scissors. Lovely Rita was better, Getting Better too. I d love to hear (except this "MUST" song as Hey Jude or Let It Be) - All Together Now - I know it is maybe boring for you, but this song is a real fun to fans as I seen in videos. And it is making audience united (like with Hey Jude). - All My Loving is better than Love Me Do any others from that time, which was sung by John. - Day Tripper was great on out there. - parts from Revolver like For No One you know - I think that his voice is getting older, and he better sing this later-beatles songs or his solo (I am dreaming about "Pipes of Peace").

Good point Makka. Why drop the songs you wrote and keep the one John wrote?? Weird.

I thought that One on One mean - One Macca and One - Us, audience. he next to piano, guitar playing HIS songs (not only solo songs, but his Beatles and Wings songs with most of parts written by him). I want to see Macca and I am very happy about Prague, but I am thinking right now, that Out There setlist was better

The long and winding road is off

Lol. You should see the field day Bruce fans are having on the message boards with his current tour. Complaints about the static setlists, no tour premieres....

I think so too. Songs like Hope for the future, Listen to what the man said or Another Day were highlights next to the "new" songs + HIHIHI which are still in the set. I'd like to bosst u last sentence: all setlists till 1993 were better cause the entire career was balanced. The setlist additions in the case of wings/solo since "up and coming tour" did us hope that this will go on... At least I was hoping for ~3 real surprises.

Exactly. And a huge complaint is that he's not playing River box set outtakes which were apparently "promised" at the beginning of the tour. Sorta like how Paul's tour was touted as being "new." So it's the same premise. Diehard fans are not happy because the set lists are being drawn up more for the casual fan.

I understand some choices like Lady Madonna etc., but you can see - zero Paul solo songs as well. some Beatles, but not the best ones ;D Maybe the real, marvelous setlist is in preparation

Absolutely loved the setlist from last night... Wow. Great to see "Here, There and Everywhere" back in the mix, along with "Fool on the Hill" and "You Won't See Me." A nice surprise is also "In Spite of All the Danger." Hope he keeps a similar setlist at MetLife Stadium...
