Great footage from last night. Really looking forward to the One On One tour! A Hard Day's Night / Save Us / Can't Buy Me Love
Letting Go / Temporary Secretary/ Let Me Roll It In Spite Of All The Danger / You Won't See Me / Love Me Do / And I Love Her The Fool On The Hill / Lady Madonna FourFiveSeconds / Eleanor Rigby -
I have faith he will be in better voice when the tour reaches the Argentinian kingdom.

A Hard Day's Night is one of the best John Lennon songs ever. Great to see McCartney keeping Lennon's legacy alive!

Lol. You should see the field day Bruce fans are having on the message boards with his current tour. Complaints about the static setlists, no tour premieres....
They are being really pissy about the set. I don't have any compliments really I mean it's an album that's only been played once and the set changes. Unlike Paul who plays a nearly a completely static setlist and no rarities. Like Bruce has played "I Wanna Be With You", "Loose Ends", "Be True" and "Roulette" all of which are outtakes. Hell he opens up with "Meet Me in the City". I couldn't imagine Paul doing that ever much less opening up with a song that is semi-new. So the main point is that I really just can't stand it when fans of the Boss complain. I would give anything to for a Paul to tour like Wrecking Ball or High Hopes just once. Even with Bruce being one of the artists I'm a diehard fan of I try not to complain about his sets ever because they could be so much worse.

Hi, I?m newbie here, I?m from Czech Republic, Prague.... Let me explain you, that for general audience and places where Paul?s visits are so rare (as my hometown - it?s his 2nd show after 12 long years!), I think that most of audience (me included) expect to hear mostly hits like Hey Jude, Let It Be, or Live and Let Die or Band On The Run. It?s because most of audience never (or just once) had an opportunity to hear these songs done by Maestro Sir Paul McCartney - so... please be more kind to this "general" audience. I know - for fan who saw xyz concerts and Paul McCartney?s show are "regular event" for them, they might be disappointed but - those songs are so stunningly well-written that I simply do not believe for a second that anyone can be bored by them. Actually - when I saw the setlist, the only "tiny" disappointment for me was absence of I Saw Her Standing There.

Finally!!

The way things are going, on the next tour Macca will probably open the show with "How do you sleep?".

be welcome here ptr1986! I think u statement could help us to dicuss the topic into a win-win direction for us all (maybe). Therefore I've got some questions: According to u nick u are born 1986? (By the way I was born 1980) Are u mainly beatles song fixed or does u like Pauls entire career? Please reflecte the current setlist are there some songs apart from the big hits u would like replace with other especially SOLO or wings songs (hits!) (give us examples). Thank you!

Now that's funny. I was born in '63 and I've been a fan since my early teens. I was a Wings fan before I was a Beatles fan. If I had my way I'd prefer more Wings but I love the Beatles stuff too so I'm happy with the set list. I'm glad I was able to see some of the older tours when he did play his solo stuff more (Flowers In The Dirt, Driving Rain, Chaos & Creation, etc). One of my biggest regrets is that I didn't go to the Wings Over America tour (but hey, I was only 13). I understand why, at this point, he sticks to the big hits, because he's filling stadiums and most people (believe it or not) want to hear that stuff. I know my two kids, who are coming with me this tour, are hoping they know most of the songs (and I'm sure they will). Hey, the man is going to be 74 years old this year and the fact that he's still putting himself out there, tour after tour, is amazing! I wouldn't miss it for the world, regardless of what he decides to sing.

I'm not going to make excuses for McCartney! A Hard Days Night is cool and all, but this setlist is just another of the same old same old, Paul McCartney could and should do much better when it comes to his setlist! Talk about disappointing, all he's done is rehash a bunch of songs that he's been performing forever! I was really hoping the man would take more risk this time, I was hoping for something more representative of his entire career, but all he's done is what he's been doing since the 80's! A man with excellent songs like... That Was Me Getting Closer Take It Away No More Lonely Nights I Can Bet - still amazes me that he doesn't perform this absolutely awesome song live, it would be a fantastic opener, I'd rather hear it than A Hard Days Night! Friends To Go House Of Wax What It Is One Of These Days Somebody Who Cares Cafe On The Left Bank The Mess Big Barn Bed Smile Away Oh Woman Oh Why I could list so many songs, the point is the man has choices and he just plays it totally safe, it's just disappointing! I'm only speaking for me, but McCartney live just isn't interesting to me anymore, there's nothing to look forward to!

99.9% of the audience wouldn't have heard of any of those songs and would use them for bathroom breaks. Maybe he could get away with it if he played in a small club for a few hundred people and charged $50. But he's never ever going to do that.
-
I would go back to the soundcheck songs, they could easily be brought in to the main show, why not try; Coming Up for Save us Let em in for Maybe Im amazed Every Night for Eleanor Rigby Just on another point when it comes to Beatle's songs, i would say people may not associate them as separate compositions i.e a John or Paul song, but Beatles as a whole restrospective of who wrote them. I for one when first getting into their music thought the whole catalogue were 50/50 Lennon/Mccartney tunes , I only discovered later on that this wasnt the case. Because Pauls singing AHDN as the opener it goes down a storm as its well known and by the fab four.

sorry but this argument the so called "bathroom breaks" don't corresponds to the reality at all. The truth is a bit more complex than audience going to bathroom breaks... Please remember Mrs. Vandebilt doesn't it worked? This song is from BOTR ok but it isn't a hit! What is in the case of HiHiHi? That I couldn't put here other songs is the result of the known setlist scheme. IMO there is one chance to stop bathroom breaks we only need standing tickets in the floor!

Ane, totally disagree! If he can play something as totally obscure as In Spite Of all The Danger, he certainly could perform songs that are from some of his latest critically acclaimed albums! The world has changed, people have Youtube now and they have heard these songs, don't believe me, then just check out Youtube and see what many people are saying about these songs. He could and should be performing much more of his Wings/solo material. The same old tired excuses why he can't perform more different songs just don't apply anymore! He's given the Beatle heads THREE DECADES to see him, one tour just one tour with a different setlist isn't too much to ask, and it doesn't have to be in front of some small group, these songs are more than good enough to be performed on the large scale just like he's doing right now!

The way things are going, on the next tour Macca will probably open the show with "How do you sleep?".
..and later he will play "Sgt.Pepper/Another Day/Yesterday" medley. and on the stage will enter Porky from Looney Tunes and say - that's all folks!

I agree and love your selection of songs. BTW - McCartney actually opened Paris concert years ago with "That Was Me" and the crowd loved it. As for "Hard Day's Night", could anybody imagine any of the other Beatles doing a show and opening with "All My Loving" - lol. Just saying - ha ha

A very good point. Although, I'd argue that Let Em In really wouldn't be that "new", but it sure would sound better than Maybe I'm Amazed. And he'd probably be more likely to through in Every Night (and why not Bluebird too!) into the acoustic band set than replace "Eleanor Rigby". While I don't find it necessary to play every single show, it's clear that it is not going anywhere.

Imagine if he would do "Little Willow" or "Early Days" in the acoustic set, I would be a happy man.
