Yap! Yap!
-
I have been watching some of the Stevie Riks parodies on the Beatles and I have to say that the guy is not only extremely talented but hilarious. He really does John better than the rest although his Paul is quite funny too. There are a few recurring phrases, ya know, like "yap! yap!" Did John ever use this expression? In what context? There's also a recurring joke where he yells at Yoko because "the rice has hit the pan"...any insight into what this actually means? Check this parody out (with "Al Capp") for a good laugh:
And here's the video clip that the parody was based on: It's interesting to watch folks go head-to-head with John's ascerbic wit...in this clip it seems that he was bested a couple times by the equally abrasive Mr. Capp. -
I bet John really wanted to punch Al Capp! That guy was such an ass!

He showed excellent restraint. Derek Taylor looked foolish. Riks really "took the mickey out" of Taylor in the parody--so funny! Capp was pretty funny though, you have to admit. Rik's Capp was absolutely hilarious!! There was another female reporter that really grilled Lennon around this same time saying the bed-ins were just a bunch of fluff and did nothing for peace. I'm sure you know who she was Nancy. I know there's a clip on YouTube.

I know exactly the woman you're talking about! She was such a hoity-toity biach!

Yeah the hoity toity one I kinda like hoity toity She was quite good--John couldn't really handle her and acted a bit caught off guard! I think his best come back was something like "Well what did you expect me to do, ya know, write a treatise that no one would read?!" If I were Capp I would have held up the Two Virgins album and said "boy when you said grow your hair for peace, she wasn't fooling around, ya know!"

Forgot to mention I have no idea about the "yap yap" and "the rice has hit the pan" bits.
-
He said "Yap yap" at the American press conference that followed the "bigger than Jesus" controversy.
-
JOhn said Yap Yap at his 'apology' for the Bigger Then Jesus fiasco. I know because I've typed it out many times using it anytime I am forced to apologize for something that I don't believe I did anything wrong. (most are too stupid to even get my reference or that I did just apologize to them)

the thing that some folks don't understand about the Bed Ins was that John and Yoko also had a problem with the intellectualism that had overtaken the Peace movement and sort of wanted to make fun of that as well as spreading a message of Peace.
