I just watched it this morning (Disney +) after breakfast and really enjoyed it. Very cool to hear the recollections from many of the people who recorded there over the years. I did not know Jimmy Page was a session player for the theme song "Goldfinger" that was recorded there. It was also interesting to hear from a couple of tech people about the instrumentation in the studio back them. Found it funny seeing the sketches/drawings of the Beatles crossing Abbey Road for the photo shoot. Noticed one of them had them walking in the other direction.
Kudos to Mary McCartney for resisting the temptation to make this documentary all about the Beatles. I think she balanced the history of the artists recording there pretty well. My favorite Beatle part was the recording of "Day in The Life". I thought Linda McCartney would have been proud seeing the shots of her daughter taking pictures of the studio. My favorite part of the ending credits was Mary taking a selfie with Elton John.
I hope everyone gets a chance to see it, think most people would like it.

@yankeefan2 I'm only half way through it but I agree... great documentary. Kudos to Mary!

No he doesn’t. He sold 1/2 to Sony. Now the songs are reverting back to the writers. Jimmix can explain it to you. There is a thread on here somewhere that he tells which songs reverted back (it takes 57 years, so now all the 1965 songs have gone back to Lenono and MPL)
-
@yankeefan2 Those sketches/drawings of them crossing Abbey Road were done by Paul, did you know that?
-
No, that is pretty cool. Thanks for the info.
-
@njr I think they said that in the show.

I had seen/heard about it a long time ago. Haven’t seen the show.

@wandy I just found this. MJ’s estate eventually sold all the remaining rights to the Beatles’ catalogue to Sony.

BULL FLIPPIN! IT WAS NOT NERVE-WRACKING! IT WAS WONDERFUL!
REMEMBER "WINGSPAN?"
SHE WAS GOING TO KICK HER FATHER FOR NOT EXPLAINING, "LIVE AND LET DIE." NOW, I TELL YA, IS THAT NERVE-WRACKING? NO! THAT'S FUN AND PLAY!
