@njr I saw Wings in 1976. Wings Over Wembley, London. My first ever rock concert. I was 21. A year later I saw ELO at the same venue. Both shows were fantastic!
Yeah, I was referring to a reunion of Wings in 2019. As you can see under all my posts I saw the actual Wings and Paul for the first time in May 1976. BEST. CONCERT. EVER. ️ I was also 21. Saw George at the same Atlanta venue in Nov. 1974. And he wasn’t hoarse that night - he sounded great!
-
@njr saw old dark hoarse at the Royal Albert Hall London 1991 with Ringo. Great show.

I can't see Paul ever retiring! If he hasn't retired by now, he's NEVER going to retire.

It was in 1992 according to this:

@njr Yeah prolly was then. I was a bit miffed that there were no concert t shirts. I LOVE!!!!! my concert t shirts. I also don't remember buying a concert programme, also. But it was fantastic just seeing George performing live. A George concert is nearly as rare as a Beatles reunion. Then amazingly Ringo appeared onstage too

@wandy if I can find it, and figure out where to post it, and how to post it, I will post a picky of my George Harrison concert ticket. In fact I might post pictures of all my Beatles related tickets. My ticket for the Premier of Rock Show is loverly. I think it might actually be worth some money. But I would never sell. I have a full set of Beatles Royal Dalton Toby Jugs. Will photo and post them too. Oh and my hey jude silver disc.

@bruce-m Exactly. The current band "backing" Paul is his best. I never thought of there ever being a "Wings," as a group/rock band. To me, it was always Paul and some backup musicians. They shuffled in and out over the years. People didn't seem to notice...or care. We went to see Paul, not "Wings." I never detected a group mentality. Ever.

@beatles4ever-1
Disagree slightly. Guys like Denny Laine and Jimmy McCulloch wrote a few songs on Wings albums. They both also sang lead on those songs in the 1976 WOA tour. McCartney's band today to the best of my knowledge has not written a song on a McCartney album or sang lead on any song live. -
@yankeefan2 Yes. Agreed. And not only did Denny and Jimmy write songs for Wings but those songs were every bit as good as Paul's. Children Children. Denny. And Medicine Jar. Jimmy ( I think) were excellent songs. Others too. I belive Wings were every bit a true collaboration band.

I still have my 1974 George Harrison ticket ($7.50!) And all of my Paul tickets except the first 2 got lost. ️
And I also have the Royal Doulton Beatles Jugs. Plus the special extra one they did for John after he was killed.https://images.app.goo.gl/DGaktmeTHAdVtmGP8

And the 4 regular jugs:
-
@njr Yes they are the same as my Toby Jugs. I paid £100 for all 4, in the 70s for them, a fortune back then. Now they are worth around £800 for 4. Of course I would never sell.
-
@njr Love your pics. I tried uploading my pics. Couldn't do it, pic files too large ️

I got mine at an antique store in the ‘80s and paid more than you did. Mine are actually in my Will to go to my son! He’s a fan and goes to Beatles tribute band concerts with me!

Thanks! Are you using a 3rd party uploader like Photobucket? That’s what I use. Little Willow posted directions to post photos right off your photo gallery on your phone, iPad or computer, but I haven’t tried that yet.

@njr I love tribute bands. Saw Elvis, the Elvis version was the army Elvis, the Beatles fave Elvis. Not the Las Vegas cat suit Elvis. ABBA ( Just the girls) ABBA were actually called FABBA. There was also a Rolling Stones Tribute band. The Counterfeit Stones. And closing the show was a Beatles tribute band. The Bootleg Beatles. It was a great show.
-
@wandy Found my George ticket pic - it was $8.50, not $7.50, but still a bargain! I think I only paid about $10-$12 for 1976 WOA ticket!
-
@njr YIKES!! My George tix were £20 plus booking fee and I had to buy 2. Well worth it though. Would easily do it again.
-
@njr I looked at the date on your ticket. 1974. That's why your tix were cheaper than mine. I saw George in 1991 ( or 1992 can't remember exactly)

Adam Hastings, who is from Northern England, used to play John in The Bootleg Beatles. Then he joined the best Beatles tribute band in the world-The Fab Four! When Covid hit he got stuck in Liverpool but ended up playing with the Cavern Beatles. Now he occasionally is back with The Fab Four. They won a Grammy for their concert on AXS. Look them up on YouTube!
