There's new tracks I'd like to hear...I can't say any of them come from this most recent album though. Looking at his recent works, I'd like to hear: -Wonderful (Ringo 2012) -Time (Y Not) -Everyone Wins (Y Not) -Can't Do it Wrong (Y Not) -Think About You (Liverpool 8 ) -Now That She's Gone Away (Liverpool 8 ) -If It's Love That You Want (Liverpool 8 ) -What Love Wants To Be (Ringo Rama) However, I think it's safe to say Ringo will never add anything to his set from the 1980's onward that isn't on the most recent album he's promoting.
I think you're probably right on that. I was really, really hoping he'd do Rory and the Hurricanes and Bamboula.
Rory is the obvious standout. Beats me why he wouldn't rock that out. Yet he persists with "Anthem". Jeepers.
I can only assume he really likes Anthem. It's not a favorite of mine.
I would assume he keeps it around for the "Peace and Love" value. It gives him and the fans I chance to wiggle the four infamous fingers at each other.

Which reminds me, in San Francisco Ringo and the band did a short version of "Give Peace a Chance." Has that been a standard part of the show?
-
Yep, every time I've seen him!
-
Yes as far back as 2012, for sure. Perhaps prior to that.
-
I've seen him in on every US Tour since 2008 and he has done it every time.

If he keeps with Anthem too much longer, I get the chance to wiggle both my middle fingers!

It's not bad for a Ringo tune. I quite enjoyed it in 2012...but last year I thought man, he's still playing this and now this year..... I'd like to know a bit more of his rationale behind keeping certain new songs in the show longer. For example, "Memphis in Your Mind" was played on THREE all-starr tours. "La De Da" was played on one. "Liverpool 8" was played on one. "Peace Dream" was played on one! But "Choose Love" gets played on three all starr tours...and "Anthem"!

Saw Ringo in Penticton on Saturday and was a fun show...I really enjoyed seeing Rundgren...Lukather and Page...good old hits. The band played for 2 hours and Ringo was in good spirits...

It really is a fun show. With great musicianship all around. The general comments from fans who have seen his show is the word, "fun" keeps coming up. In this world with all the bad news and crap that goes on...surely that is a good thing. Peace and Love indeed... ...and you know that can't be bad (as the song goes.)

No. He didn't play it at his show in Edmonton Monday night. The only new song he played was "Island In The Sun". The only songs he sang were: Matchbox, It Don't Come Easy, Photograph, I'm the Greatest, You're Sixteen, Islands In The Sun, Act Naturally, Boys, Don't Pass Me By, With A Little Help From My Friends, Yellow Submarine and a bit of Give Peace A Chance.
-
Wow.....he seldom ever changes the show mid-tour...he never has since I've been going.
-
I think Island In The Sun started second show of this tour? Perhaps even the first in SF?

Not sure what you mean here. The SF show that was scheduled around the time of the album's release was cancelled due to illness and was rescheduled for early Oct. That was the show I went to a couple weeks ago and discussed above, and was the first time he'd played in SF since "Postcards..." came out.

Right...it means exactly what it says San Francisco, the opener of the tour, was when the song was first featured.

Ringo simply ROCKED in Baltimore tonight! This band is so hot and so tight...they just work (and play) so well with each other, I've never seen another lineup like it. Yes, there's been bands of equal musical quality, but the love that these guys have for one another and the fun they have is simply untouched! All that being said, I am so damn sick of hearing Mr. Mister's two big hits. This is the fourth time I've seen Richard Page in the lineup and frankly, his music was boring the first time. Last year, I wasn't real impressed by Warren Ham but he is a great fit now. I saw them early in the tour last year, and I think he just wasn't quite settled yet. Steve Lukather, Gregg Rolie, and especially Todd Rundgren keep their three spots each very lively and enjoyable, even on repeats from previous tours. Steve Lukather has played the same three songs all three times I've seen him, yet they're still so lively and fresh each time. "Africa" is the only one that's really worn out on me...but I really didn't care for it too much to begin with. Ringo just gets better every time. He's amazing! As I sat and watched him drumming, just being in the zone, I was getting chills. To really stop and think about all the music and all the history he has made behind the kit is unreal...and it's happening right in front of me. That factor never wears off, for me at least. "Island in The Sun" really, really works well live. It has much more energy than the record and I enjoyed it. "You're Sixteen" and "I'm The Greatest" were also great additions...particularly "You're Sixteen" as I had never heard it live. Ringo had great fun with it! AND during "little help" he read our sign, pointed and said Thank You! It read "Ringo Starr and his all Starr Fans"....can I say a Beatle spoke to me now? The venue (The Lyric Opera House) was also a much better choice than the last two times I've seen him (Wolf Trap & Meyerhoff Symphony Hall). Excellent staff and a very lively audience! I got a nice classic black tour shirt with the cities ($30) and a wrist band ($10)...had never seen the wristband before and couldn't resist! Okay...that's my overly-detailed review! .....'til next year, right?!

^^^^^^Great review!!! I am sooooooo very excited!!!! I will be seeing Ringo here this Saturday (Halloween)!!!
-
I had such a great time at the Ringo Starr concert at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn! It was a small theatre so all the seats were great! Since it was Halloween they came on stage with costumes lol. Ringo sounded great and although the songs he sang was expected; I still enjoyed it very much. I only have a few pictures on my phone. A lot of my pictures are blurry because I was too busy singing and dancing. lol. The stage looked great with the spider webs and stars. ---------- A surprise of the concert was that Steven Van Zandt sat right in front of me lol. And later towards the end of the concert he was on stage with Ringo. --------- They didn't have many items left to purchase but I did get a t-shirt. This is the back of it.
