Ron Howard Directing Beatles documentary

This new Beatles' documentary might outsell 'A Hard Day's Night' movie!
Now that would really be something!

Saw the film yesterday, is it meant to cut off at the end of the Shea concert, I forget if there's a story with that.

What do you mean? ("Cut off at the end") *confused* Did the film abruptly stop with no credits or anything?

After the credits they play the shea concert as it happened and it kind of cut off in the middle of the last song they played/I'm Down

I may have to go for a 3rd time at the $4 movie place before Thursday.
I did go see it for the 3rd time. The theatre is keeping it another week, but only one showing a day--the last showing. That doesn't work well with my schedule. It's supposed to be the complete Shea concert with credits. It doesn't cut off abruptly.

That is highly unlikely. It is estimated the original 1964 release made about $8,000,000 in the first week...in today's dollars about $61.2 million. That was only in its first week. By contrast, Eight Days A Week has made $7.99 million to date in 2016 dollars. Remember that tickets now are average about $10.00 each, but in 1964 were 25 to 35 cents.

Just saw the film in Copenhagen. Thought it was great! Was very disappointed that the Shea concert wasn't a part of the screening. Think it would have been a great way to get a more balanced view of the Lennon/McCartney dynamics of their live shows. IMO the film gets more and more John focussed towards the end which isn' t necesarily a bad thing, would just have liked a better balance.

Hi sweetsake! How are you? How's the weather in Tokyo? Have you ever heard of Fisheads International? It is located in Tokyo! If you visit Fisheads International, tell Eric Sachs that John from San Antonio, Texas says hello.

not that one,Kadokawa cinema Shinjyuku is very closer to Shinjyuku Piccadilly. Toho-cinema Shinjyuku is near Krispy Kreme. I saw "Minions"at there! The Beatles cameo scene was exciting!

Saw the film yesterday at another sold out screening in Glasgow. Despite the on screen announcement at the start, a lot of people didn't realise that the Shea footage was being shown at the end and had to re-take their seats once the Shea film started. Overall an interesting documentary but not the type of thing I could watch over and over again (unlike, say, The Anothology or 'Living In The Material World' which get repeated viewings) so I've ended up canceling my pre-order of the set from Amazon (UK).
-
I'm still puzzled that the Shea footage wasn't part of the screening I went to in Copenhagen..

For Canadian fans: they are playing Eight Days a Week on CTV tonight at 8 pm.
