What Beatles Item did you last buy?

The Rolling Stone I have...so many other magazines I must get!!! But I think I'm going to have to wait a bit, so I can be sure my daughter has a good holiday in December. There is also a European art magazine called Lid, or something like that, George is on the cover in a never-before seen pic...oh my God, one could just collapse from the g(e)orgeousness!!! I'm also seeing, on ebay, old tribute magazines from the 2001 era when he passed away, and I'm wanting those as well! Maybe I can get one a month or something, til I'm all caught up. I want to collect and know everything I can about George, as best as one can indeed know George, who was basically unknowable. Who knows, if I get enough sources together, maybe one day I'll compile my own book! ops:

Spencer Leigh's The Beatles in Hamburg just arrived today.
Where did you get it? Off of Amazon? I'll await your review.

Olivia's beautiful book about George arrived today!!!!!
I got mine too. Lots of fish eye photos. I flipped through it a bit. I can't stop staring at that cover.

Paul McCartney-memory almost full
-
I just bought a book from Amazon.com called "The Beatles in Hamburg".
-
I got the Beatles in Hamburg, but before I could get too in-depth into it, Olivia's book arrived, and I had to read through that one completely first! Kathryn: from what I can tell just by browsing, it looks like it gives a good account of the time and place, the era, but few real anecdotes not already known. I still maintain the best books about the Beatles' time in Hamburg are probably books written only in German, and I wish some publisher would take the initiative to translate them into English, it would be a goldmine for them. I'm surprised no one has yet done so.

Nancy: I did find the Life issue yesterday, the whole magazine is about George! Very nicely done! I was so excited to find it!
-
I just picked up the Life Magazine this morning at the grocery store. It looks nice & is all dedicated to George.
-
I saw the Life issue, too. I would've bought it if it hadn't been so overpriced. It was about 14 or 15 bucks if memory serves.
-
I know...it was $15. I was very surprised. I grabbed in line & didn't even look at the price! Wish I would have.

Bought Julian Lennon's new album yesterday.

Bought Rock and Roll album triple cd of outtakes from the sessions . On this same visit I met Hunter Davies who signed my copy of his biography of our guys . Also had my two copies of the Tony Sheridan album covers autographed by the man ! I also spoke to John,s sister Julia during the "questions from audience", time at the close of her interveiw .

There are 25 for sale on amazon.com right now, starting at $3.49. It's a McCartney collectible to McCartney fans only. It was an actual radio show Paul did in the 90's, and the Ecology CD a Best Buy exclusive. Give it a listen. It's good!
