John Lennon Quotes?

^^ Yes, I came to the realization, which had never occurred to me, how The Beatles were exploited by everyone around them, for their own benefits, in the end. I can see how they could act like a "b**tard" to the ones around them as it was all they could do to express themselves and live through it till it was over. I had assumed all my life it must have been all rosy being a Beatle.
Indeed!

Nancy R:
Funny how the censor won't put the "s" at the end of the B word to make it plural! You have to type it like: ba*tards or b*stards
I didn't even know that b**tard was a bad word, I've never thought of b**tard as a bad word! Is bloody a bad word in England?

Lots of Lennon Quotes in this interview from The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder in 1975. (Perhaps, John's last television interview) I watched this show when it first aired in 1975. "We didn't break up because we weren't friends...we just broke up out of shear boredom"
-
They broke up out of sheer bordom Lennon said. No wonder they were bored... only thirteen studio albums in 6-7 years, a bunch of singles and EP's. Everything went to #1. They conquered America, they conquered the world. The girls screemed everywhere they went, the guys wanted to be like them. They were artistically recognized as no pop group either before or after. Admired by young and old. They drank and partied and smoked and took drugs and lived seven lifetimes in 7 years. Ahhhrgh, soooooo boring. Poor guys!

^ This interview with John was first aired 40 years ago this April 28th.
-
Yeah, I've seen it. 40 years ago...It seems so long ago, yet not. The Beatles debuted in 1962 and Lennon died in 1980. It's only 18 years. It seemed like a long time when I was young in the 80's but it wasn't. He's been dead for 35 years. And he lived to be 40.

"For our last number...I'd like to ask your help...would the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands...and the rest of you if you'd just rattle your jewelry"

That's probably my favorite! Brian was afraid John was going to use the F-word during that line, though! But even John was not that reckless (in 1963!)
-
"It's only me" when John pulled down his glasses and smiled at Paul or whomever. Perhaps after a row had ensued. John's way of making up and reminding them of the history and bond they shared. This is a fave John quote of mine.
-
^^ I love that quote too. "It's only me." I love the 1975 inyerview too. John looks so handsome there. I bet he would still be handsome if he were alive today. John

^^ Tom Snyder (Talk Show Host)..."Those silly haircuts!" John Lennon..."Those silly haircuts that you have now!" Snyder embarrassingly laughs...

I saw that Tom Snyder interview live! I was almost 20 at the time.

When it gets down to having to use violence, then you are playing the system?s game. The establishment will irritate you ? pull your beard, flick your face ? to make you fight. Because once they?ve got you violent, then they know how to handle you. The only thing they don?t know how to handle is non-violence and humor. - John Lennon

There is a DVD of this called John, Paul, Tom, and Ringo: The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder. It has this interview replayed in full the day after John died, with Tom interviewing Double Fantasy producer Jack Douglas and rock journalist Lisa Robinson. Along with his interviews with Paul and Linda and the Back To The Egg Wings lineup in 1979, and Ringo and his wife Barbara in 1981. Very excellent DVD! And yes, it was John's last full television interview.

"Some of you sitting there with your cock in your hand Don't get you nowhere don't make you a man." From "I Found Out."

"THINK!!!" ~ //oo\\

I used to think, why on earth would he put chocolate cake in a bag...wouldn't it be easier to eat it off a plate? "I just hope we go alright..."
