RE: THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL

I'm hoping that Wild Life & Red Rose Speedway will be next for release. Although I'm not expecting much material from the former album, there is so much audio & visual material available from that whole August 1971 to July 1973 era that a combined box-set would be a must have for any Wings fan.
LetMeRollIt:
Back to the Egg and Red Rose Speedway are on the top of my list...and London Town is right there, too.
Back to the Egg, Red Rose, Wild Life...bring it on!

Apologies if this has already been mentioned recently- November or December UK shows? legit rumour or nothing doing? One to One hasn't reached here yet. last tour was in May 2015. Just saying
Nothing yet - not even any whispers. I've seen him live three times and would love to see him again, so I'm checking around everyday for information. Fingers crossed we get a clutch of arena dates later in the year.
I'm rapidly losing hope of getting to see him on this tour. If there are any UK shows this year , they'll have to be in November/December based on the tour schedule as it currently stands, so I suppose there's still plenty of time for an announcement - or the tour could extend into next year, but I don't know how likely that is?? It would feel like a real kick in the teeth if he missed us completely, given that he will have done 42 US shows during the One on One tour!! During the Out There tour he played 44 times in the US compared to 4 times in the UK and 9 times across the whole of continental Europe!? All I'm saying is his ratios are a bit off and I hope he addresses that
Remember last tour, apart from 3 random gigs many music lovers couldn't attend since it was crammed up in a few days in the middle of festival season including Glastonbury, it took him 2 full years into the tour to properly hit Europe and the set was old hat, the usual warmed-up scraps for us. Even the obligatory Liverpool gig was phoned in, addition-wise. And by that time the set was almost back in circles and he dropped 'Your Mother Should Know', and re-added a few songs he already had done at the previous leg 3+ years earlier. So next year 'I Wanna Be Your Man' and 'You Won't See Me' are dropped for 'Drive My Car' and 'Day Tripper' again. 'Here, There & Everywhere' already got the axe...
I hadn't thought of that, but you're right. By the time he gets to us (IF he gets to us) the tour will be pretty old hat and I suspect the enthusiasm will be diminished somewhat, certainly in terms of changing up the set list....although losing I wanna be your man wouldn't necessarily have me in tears

For everyone feeling disappointed that there haven't been dates added in your state yet, spare a thought for us poor sods in the UK who haven't had a single show on this whole tour since it started over a year ago...and still nothing!!
Its only been a couple of years since his last shows here in the UK,i'd be amazed if he tours here in the UK this year.
hi AppleMacca, there were quite a few of the sound check tickets in Little Rock that went unsold last year. Friend of mine from Memphis ended up buying these for around $280 each the day before the show there. She made out good coz her group was invited onstage to meet Paul. $950 is about 250 more than I paid for Gold VIP in Little Rock last year. Since I have no plans on attending this leg of the tour, I wonder if it is only NYC where he has raised the prices??
Wow, your friend was really lucky to get those tickets at that price! I suppose sometimes its best not to panic buy right when the presale starts. But I expect that's what i'll do anyway

I've been watching these presales with a mix of interest and horror. I notice that there are still a lot of Amex presale tickets available at certain venues; What happens to those if they haven't been sold by the time the general sale starts? Do they become available to buy at that time even if you don't have an American Express card? And does anyone know if the Amex presale happens for UK shows? I might consider getting one just for that, because the fanclub tickets seem to be really difficult to get! Thanks : )
Any pre-sale tickets that are left become available when the general sale starts. That is why pre-sales end before the regular sale starts.
Thanks for clarifying that for me : )

But he did a load of US dates last year, and now there's a load more...why would the UK get such short shrift?? If there are no UK dates again this year I would be VERY disappointed
Not only that, he played in France, Norway, Denmark & The Netherlands last year & the year before that. The whole "He played there last year so he's not coming this year" point has rarely been true so I don't see why he's not playing in the UK. Especially considering how well received his shows were in 2015!
Thanks for the pep talk - Much appreciated! : ) I would hope that having skipped the UK last year, he's MORE likely to play here this year, not less likely!!

RE: 2017 Setlist Speculation Thread
B J Conlee:
B J Conlee:
Just saw basically the setlist for the 1st Japan show. Please Paul...is this the best you can do. Instead of hobnobbing with the Likes of Tom Hanks, the Obama's, David Geffen etc. , can't you spend some time rehearsing some real additions (not songs you've done before) for a new tour. You have always given the fans great value from a standpoint of quantity (almost 3 hours) but now you're just going through the motions instead of trying to give your true fans a different show with songs you've never done before. You surely have plenty of them. I don' care if he ended up playing in the same little Florida town where I live, I probably wouldn't go. Any songs that he adds are just retreads from previous shows. Not a surprise but not one song from the FITD years where he just promoted his latest reissue. He used to be a great performer but as I said, he just goes through the motions now being basically Beatle Paul. What a disappointment and as I also said, I love the guy and he is my favorite. Over the Memorial Day weekend, I'm going to a 5 day Beatles festival right around Louisville KY. They have many tribute bands, singer-songwriters etc. who will do all kinds of songs. Maybe one of them (I hope) will concentrated on Paul (post 1980) and I will hear the songs I would love to hear. Unfortunately, I definitely won't hear it from the master himself.
________________________________________________________ Just to give some examples of my extreme disappointment in yesterday's (1st show) Setlist: Songs from the Japan Setlist that should go away *Jet - has done it a million times, just get rid of it *Drive My Car - another Beatles' song he has done so many times *Let Me Roll It to you - what show hasn't he done this one; overdone as badly as Radio ruined Ebony and Ivory; * My Valentine - nice addition a few years ago but enough already; you've got so many others that have never been played *Maybe I'm Amazed - you play it at every show and as much as I hate to say it...you can't hit the notes anymore. I would rather hear him do something good in his range. *We Can Work It Out - Again, how many times are you going to drag it out *Queenie Eye - nice when you added it, but bring out another song you have never done *Lady Madonna - Enough already...time to give it a rest. *I Wanna Be Your Man - Are you kidding me...is this the big new addition. Third tier Beatle song at best *Mr. Kite - Ok, you've done this a couple of tours now, give us something you've never done before *Sgt. Peppers Reprise - again, you've done this before *Hi Hi Hi - Ok, nice addltion a few years ago but time to bring out another song you've never done before I understand that there are some signature songs he had to do...Let It Be, Yesterday, Hey Jude, Band on the Run, and maybe a few more but there are so many additional choices you could do. Great songs (not obscure ones) that he has never done live (or only very rarely done) Take It Away (Tug of War) Wanderlust (Tug of War) Tug of War (Tug of War) Young Boy (Flaming Pie) Little Willow (Flaming Pie) Lovers that Never Were (Off the Ground) That Day is Done (Flowers in the Dirt) Promise to You Girl (Chaos and Creation) Too Much Rain (Chaos and Creation) Friend to Go (Chaos and Creation) Ever Present Past (Memory almost Full) That Was Me (Memory Almost Full) done at only a handful of shows House of Wax (Memory Almost Full) done at only a handful of shows Early Days (New) I have often said that Paul's Post Beatles (and Post Wings) career is terribly underrated and doesn't get the respect it deserves. But how can it, when the Man himself doesn't respect such a big portion of his career.

This is definitely John. He's playing the Sardonyx guitar he used throughout the Double Fantasy sessions.

RE: Paul McCartney 2017 Rumors
WixRocks!:
If that's the case...I'd love to see him in Europe in June considering "it was fifty years ago today..." and his 75th b-day...then over to the states in July/Aug like in 2010, release the record in September with promo gigs and then to the southern hemisphere in October! ...but who really knows :
This is exactly what I was thinking. It'd be great if he was in Europe & UK for the 50th anniversary of Pepper, his 75th birthday and possibly even the 60th anniversary of him and John meeting. A girl can dream right?
