Put yourself in Paul's position. He has a band that tours every year and in most cases sells out tickets the day they go on sale! Why fix something that's not broken??

I wanna know how people have gotten on stage multiple times! I've been trying for what will be my 6th attempt next summer and have had zero luck. That's with 3 out of those 5 attempts being in the VIP area too. What am I doing wrong y'all?
My son and I were extremely lucky to have been called up by Paul twice!!

RE: Buying Hot Sound Package and going ALONE :)
I agree...Pauls fans are amazing and very friendly. The only problem, once you've experienced the whole soundcheck package, you'll want to do it again and again. Have a fantastic time!!

I see that stage as an excuse for an extra buffer between Paul and the audience. It's not like he doesn't make use of it, but it keeps rabid/drunk fans from getting too close to 'the legend'. After all, who's bigger than a Beatle?
When I saw Ringo in 2014 at a small venue with no security barrier in front, he definitely kept his distance from the crowd, although members of his band were obliging with handshakes and hi-fives for those right up against the stage (like me).
Even in the promo shot for the 'Freshen Up' tour, there's an even bigger than usual gap (Japan maybe?). Ain't no stage crashers happening. Period. I saw someone run onstage in Montreal 1989, even though Paul was at the piano on the back riser, and the fan (girl) never got close, he was still a bit unnerved by it.
Since John was murdered, I think Paul will never feel the same about getting close to fans. Never would be like this today:
I always get nervous seeing Paul in crowd situations...even though he has "security around".

RE: Small Gig Speculation Thread
If history means anything, the last time Paul performed "secret" gigs back in 2007, he started in London on June 6, followed by New York on June 13 and Los Angeles on June 27.

Hey gang popping in, due to Blue Meanies in the vicinity...tour news will take a little longer. Be patient, it is coming.
also, on Paul's interview with BBC 6 he said that possible small venue shows in July are possible. While I have no idea if they will occur, the words came from his mouth. So those who live in major cities....especially LONDON, NYC and LA (usual suspects) keep eyes and ears open because when they drop, it's usually last minute
Enjoy your weekend and new Paul music!!!
Thanks, Bob...you too!!

I can bet that he'll add a show in Houston (not played since 2012) in the week between the two ACL weekends. Maybe a secret show or two around Austin as ACL acts tend to do (think Indio/Desert Trip secret show fashion). Dallas less likely as he was there in 2014. While Dallas is a large city, and that was four years ago, there are many other large US cities like San Jose, Charlotte, Memphis, Denver and Raleigh for instance that have gone much longer without a show. Only other 2014 repeats I see maybe happening are Chicago, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and Phoenix.
Doubt he will play Chicago again so soon, since he played two shows in the suburban area last year, plus I still think that opening the new Milwaukee arena is more likely. West Coast is overdue since they were completely skipped in 2017.
ah yes forgot about the Tinley Park shows. Indeed, doubt Chicago is on the agenda for 2018.
If Paul is promoting his new LP, I don't think it really matters where he played in '17...he may want to plug it in as many big cities as possible.

So, do you guy thinks that 'One on One' is over?
After this long break, I suppose that when he'll resume touring (probably near the release of the new album), it will be under a different tour name, logo to mark the relation with this 'new album'.
My guess is that when dates are announced it will be a brand new tour. The One On One Tour included shows in 2016 and 2017...then again, the Out There Tour went from 2013 to 2015...hard to say!

Going to the New York City show on September 13...haven't seen the All-Starrs since 2014 so I'm looking forward to a couple of new songs in the setlist.

"Only Mama Knows" totally rocked on the '09 tour. It was great. I remember being super pissed when I picked up GENYC and they had some chick in the front row talking over a whole chorus of the song.
I never understood why he extracted "That Was Me" from the little suit that it was sandwiched in. The whole thing would've worked great in those '07 shows...as for "House of Wax"? I never cared for it...but the missed opportunity of not touring that record, was never playing "Ever Present Past". That would've gone down great live.
I am one of those who loved "House of Wax" and liked the guitar solos which would are great live, see youtube clip of Paris show. I agree, "Ever Present Past" would have been great live also. Such a shame that MAF never got the amount of songs other albums got live.
He did 5 songs live during the promo gigs though, while he was endlessly on tour around the album release of 'New' and that saw only 4 songs played live on tour. 'Chaos' had 4 as well, on tour around the release of the album.
True, but it was a different environment. Paul knew that these were small one-off shows and he wouldn't be touring and probably didn't care quite as much about pleasing the masses. If we had gotten a full fledged tour supporting the album in 2007, I suspect it would've received standard treatment.
Of course, they got 10 times less outings. Unfortunately by the time the divorce struggle was through and he started his current way of touring, it was way past album promotion.
I happen to think that one of Paul's best setlists was from Rotterdam in March, 2012.
He opened the show with Hello Goodbye with the instrumental intro, and three songs later played Venus & Mars / Rock Show / Jet...the first and only time he's done that.
The setlist included The Night Before, My Valentine (played for the first time with his band), I Will and Dance Tonight.
He also performed the pretty rare Ram On, a verse of Yellow Submarine, and the also rare The Word / All You Need Is Love medley.
I don't believe he's ever performed such a varied setlist before or since.

Almost April and no tour news or even the slightest credible rumor. Hmmmm
Is it possible any tours he does won't start until the new album is released? If, let's say, his album will be released in September, then maybe he'll want to begin touring at the same time? What's the latest he's ever started touring? Has he ever started touring late summer/early fall before?
Yes..Paul's tours in 1989 and 2005 began in September.

RE: 2018 Tours?
Then again, if he's promoting a new CD, it really doesn't matter where he's played recently.Vegas
Orlando
CharlotteRaleigh
Memphis
Major Cities that were played in 2014-
Los Angeles
Kansas City
San Antonio
Dallas
Denver
Out of those, I would only see maybe 2 of the Texas cities (Austin and Houston?), either Anaheim or LA not both... DOubt we'll see much Northeast US this year after last year's epic marathon 9 show NYC area +Syracuse run. Orlando seems unlikely since he just played Tampa last year. To me the most likely are Indianapolis, Houston, Las Vegas, Anaheim, Memphis, Charlotte/Raleigh/somewhere in NC and another Texas city perhaps. Anyone else think of other possible candidates for US cities? Time to revisit one of the huge metros from 1on1 2016 like Minneapolis-St Paul, Washington DC, Seattle, Cleveland or Vancouver? (assuming it's a new tour)
