RE: What's More Unfortunate?
The first time I heard A Day In The Life Give Peace a chance was at Anfield in 2008, I loved it, does anyone know if he played it before that concert?

I know that some folks have strong feelings about wanting Paul to change up his setlist. But being so close to him during the show reminds me that I want to hear the story he wishes to tell. That is why I go. We are so lucky that he still loves playing live and even more lucky that he comes to a location where we can go and listen.

any word on what was played at soundcheck?
I don't remember everything - Was busy dancing and being the only one holding up a sign. But he couldn't see it - he squinted and shaded his eyes but we were too far back I think. Maybe that is why no one else had a sign. I stood at the back of the group so that I wouldn't block anyone's view too. They jammed at first. Then what I remember (not in the right order) is Blue Suede Shoes, maybe Honey Don't, Alligator, Let 'em In, San Francisco Bay Blues, Midnight Special, Lady Madonna Story about getting a massage while "warming up" the magic piano.

If your sign was on a yellow background I remember seeing it. I had one too, I was all the way to the left on the aisle. (Drive my Car? soundcheck or am I getting it mixed with Miami)

Did anyone have VIP seats? How were they?
I had 3rd row center - almost all of my pics have the mic in front of Paul's face, so something to consider for the future - slightly to the side would be better for pics. I was lucky enough to get 3rd row center for Tampa 2005 when he fell into the pit. The big rising stage wasn't in front of the normal stage during those years, so everyone was so much closer. No one will ever be that close again! Was lucky enough too to get that seat for face value through ticket master! Now you have to shell out $1600 for the hot sound package to get that seat. But if you haven't had the opportunity to see him in the first few rows, I think it is definitely worth it - when he takes the stage everything else melts away and you are transported on a magical mystery tour!
Hey! I was there too with my wife, back in 2005. Third row center too! We must have been near each other! And yes, we were absolutely horrified when it happened. We were just saying to each other how lucky we were to finally see him that close and then poof! Thought he was dead..... talk about "Fixing a Hole". "You won't see me" Or "I'm down!" Glad you all enjoyed Tampa, we loved him Friday night in Miami!!!!
It is awesome being up close, a Magical Mystery Tour sounds like a good way to put it. Once you are up their..., It's hard to go back, I can't. He is the only artist that I go out of my way to sit up close. As long as I'm in the building for other acts and I can hear the music I'm good.

MY WHOLE HEARTED OPINION: The facts are the facts. Paul McCartney is a 75 year old man who can still hit more notes than I'll say 98% of the people on this board. If you expect to go to a McCartney concert and hear him sound EXACTLY like he did with The Beatles or Wings then DON'T GO and don't complain. As for the setlist... Listen, I love eating at Wendy's from time to time after a long gig. I was so mad when they changed the fries years ago. Boy I'd love to have the old fries again. Did it make me complain on the Wendy's board? Did I stop going? NO! Because I love the burgers, because I love the fake-chicken (Sorry Paul and all Veg's). My point is this; NO ONE here is a fan of Paul's solely based on what he plays at his shows. We love Paul for who he is, what he has meant to all of us our entire lives, or for some new fans just recently. With John, George, Ringo, Wings, and his solo career, he has created a soundtrack for MILLIONS of lives. Not just for my life, and not just for yours. Does everyone have the right to voice their opinion just like I am right now, for the first time after years of keeping it to myself? ABSOLUTELY. But C'Mon People (ah thank you) how many tours have some of you now made the same comments about the set? Has it done anything? Not really. Did you still buy tickets for this tour? Of course you did because you're going for a lot more reasons than just a setlist. We're all DIEHARD fans of Paul and everything related to Paul. I think sometimes we have to just remember that we make up maybe 5-10% of the people at each of those shows. He may be making the set list for 90% of the people there, but we can all admit once we leave, 100% of the people are happy. Could he throw out some "never before played" stuff? Would it be INCREDIBLE to hear? YEAH!! Look at how many different songs we've all heard since our first tour? How many different songs is that? I bet A LOT! Let's be grateful for what we all have been given by Paul over the years and still today.
Agree with this post very much! (Especially the line in bold) Well Said, my friend.

Did he ever do this before? During the show? I know he has people dancing onstage during soundcheck...sometimes.
I'm not scoping, what is happening, a fan onstage dancing? Yes I have seen that before during a show. There was that girl who did the crazy dancing during Get Back a while ago, and many years ago, a pair of well-known fans...
oh yeah...I remember the crazy dance. Yeah, someone was invited to dance because she had a Pepper jacket on. A mom & her son.
Ah, thanks. What song?
Get Back! I'm thinking he likes playing that song with fans
Never as good as the first time!

The Butter Wouldn't Melt:
The clock is very cool. I love it. I just wonder why they didn't do it in the shape of the Hofner.
It's not big enough for a laptop case, but I'm sure you could make a tablet fit. One thing about the commemorative tickets -- they gave out some bags with Tampa commemorative tickets by mistake. They went around asking everybody to check theirs, but I know that some people had already taken theirs to their cars. edit: yet another typo. My typing still hasn't recovered from hearing Temporary Secretary.
Good question!

The clock is made of foam? I saw a pic but I didn't realize it was foam.
Yes, it's foam
Maybe you could chisel out the center & use it as a computer case!
Except it's shaped like the body of a guitar so a square computer won't fit
If the guitar was large enough...it would.
I'm just glad it's different from last year. I like the clock, it's different.

No it's a blue towel with black writing about 5 feet by 2 1/2 or 3 feet wide. On it says Paul McCartney one on one tour 2017. They're pretty nice. The one in your picture I saw at the stand outside the venue I think it was much smaller.
Thanks for the info! Here is a picture of the commemorative ticket from the Japanese tour: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/c9/29/b8/c929b8a4782af6fbf2c0cf3d113ff6e2.jpg
The Miami ticket included in the VIP bag looks the same obviously just the date and venue change.
