Now that there is a new song out, what are the odds of Paul joining Rihanna and Kanye West onstage? And who would like to see that?
I really hope that devils trio never comes to pass live.

And so onto the last 2 gigs of my year Madness and Deacon Blue.. First off Madness in Manchester, saw them on their last tour and they were frankly brilliant, full of fun and almost 2 hours of great songs and a band clearly enjoying being there together on stage, fast forward 2 years and it was all a bit different,1 member gone a couple of others looking a bit disinterested if im honest and a little under 90 mins on stage (which for the price of the ticket isn't acceptable for me),dont get me wrong they where as professional as ever but i dont know something was missing and i cant put my finger on it,not them at their best for me but i was spoiled by their last gig i saw so maybe that was it im not sure. And finally last night off to the echo arena to Deacon Blue, which given the fairly misrable time i had last year was a little odd,but their new album spurred me into going and i have to say it was much better than last years gig,the drunks where still there but not as bad as last time out,the new songs sounded excellent as good as anything theyve done,a shame then the talking around me was louder than the music, why do people pay so much money to see bands only to yap and get bladdered? it bemuses me it really does. I suspect though the numbers where down by as much as half crowd wise,a much smaller config greeted us last night in the arena,i was told the arena was expecting at least 5000 people,it didnt even come close to that number, maybe going back time and again to the same place has started to dry the well so to speak,as i always say you need to be missed, you keep turning up at thee same place year in,year out people become blasé. I have though a sneaking suspicion that the band may split again or take extended leave now we'll see though,so a better night than last year for sure.
Yeah i cant ever see that being part of the main set list,a little bit 1970's with it's lyrics hehe, but Paul is Paul,oh come on who are we kidding that song wont be played live,Temporary Secretary played live,my oh my the PC brigade would eat him alive they really would. And going back to the tour name, who cares, really it doesn't matter nowadays does it?and given someone like Paul who's on a seemingly perpetual tour a name is frankly meaningless because we go and see him anyway.
So onto The Who at it has to said a far from full echo arena in Liverpool. They where outstanding 25 songs over 2 and a half hours was fulsome entertainment Daltrey voice was in tip top shape and Townsend can still play loudly,he tipped over through pinball wizard and really lost his rag add to that him throwing his guitar lots of windmills added to the night. The song selection was varied,My Generation got an airing for the first time this your and was most welcome, but it got me thinking back to the summer of 2013 when I saw them last and I'd say the quadrophonic show was more coherent than tonight's and gripped the crowd more, there wasn't any "toilet" songs that night there was tonight as the crowds attention span wandered a bit,it was a shame because they where missing craftsmen doing a job and who knows this may well be it,indeed I'd put a couple of quid on it frankly. So the who then for people going to see them, they're loud, very loud, Zak Starkey is an excellent drummer as good technically as moon was surely? The Entwhistle/Moon songs that worked so well in Quadrophenia are back but for me don't work nearly as well this time round. So if you get the chance go and see the you won't regret it and let's be fair about it it may well be the last time and chance you get. 9 out of 10.

You simply cant compare U2 to Paul, they've barely toured in the last few years so you'd expect them to sell out quick as i flash,
Agree, Paul and U2 are not really comparable, esp. as for this tour, U2 are doing a minimum of 2 shows in every city. And actually not all of their shows are selling out so fast. There are currently 4 shows on sale in Los Angeles and a couple of them still have many seats available, versus Chicago and Boston, very strong markets for U2 - those cities have 2 shows on sale so far and those tickets are pretty much gone. U2 are also selling tickets for shows that aren't even happening until NEXT YEAR - lately Paul doesn't give us much more than a few weeks to buy our tickets ahead of time.
Yeah, his way is just better.
Oh lord no i cant stand the way Paul does his announcements it drives me mad give me a proper timeframe to buy tickets and savour the lead up to a gig, book it far enough in advance and the anticipation is fun too.

Paul said on the "Today" show that he likes to announce concerts one date at a time so he can be sure how it sells before committing to more. Seems to explain a lot.
Sorry but thats nonsense..hes Paul F'in McCartney for gawds sake he's been in the biz for 50 plus years and well i heard he's quite famous hehe, utter balderdash he should like almost every other artist announce plans in one go and add any extra shows as the sales progress the way he and Marshall arts announce the dates just annoys people. Treat people like adults and allow them to make plans for the tour its not much to ask surely?
Agreed she such an important part of the band perhaps the most important part

No one has said why the Billboard ad said there were 16 sold out concerts on the Out There tour, but Billboard clearly shows at least 35, including 21 this year. Any thoughts??
I dont think it was a typo they just didn't sell out maybe,no big deal very few artists seem to completely sell out dates nowadays.
It has been mentioned how he may be saturating the market. And actually, it is a big deal in the sense that McCartney is a world-class artist, so he really should sell out each date. U2 is touring in 2015 and I cannot imagine their manager and promoter saying, "No big deal if some shows don't sell out, very few artists seem to completely sell out dates nowadays." I also don't believe McCartney's team thinks that way either. If they did, he would have played Albuquerque, Australia, and Horsens already.
I've been to 13 arena gigs i think it is this year all "big" names (ok not Paul he doesn't do the UK at the moment )just one,The Eagles has been a total sell out,the latest gig Peter Gabriel sold about 8000 seats the other night from an arena the holds about the 11000 seat mark, this is happening certainly in my neck of the woods time and again. You simply cant compare U2 to Paul, they've barely toured in the last few years so you'd expect them to sell out quick as i flash,Paul on the other hand hasnt stopped touring in that time so there are going to be gaps, its not rocket science people become over familiar with him and prefer to miss out on a gig knowing he'll be round within seemingly 12 months in some cases,i would though go as far as to say that its a testament to Paul that he does night after night play to full/nearly full arenas/stadiums i cant think of anyone else who could do it frankly, though i stand by what i say he needs to rest up areas that have been well served over the last few years, give people a reason to miss him, though i suspect the age thing is a factor now in his tour planning
Seeing them in June when they finally hit the UK,they where good a couple of years ago but with Christine back they have to be that much better surely

Saw Peter Gabriel on sunday night what a great show,he was in fine voice indeed the whole show was a master class in pacing, content and special effects and darn fine musicianship, the light show was excellent the best ive seen since the wall show last year, great night out if you get the chance he comes highly recommended. Busy week this week The Who on Thursday and a complete change of pace with Andre Reiu at the weekend, busy, busy week.
You're just running the whole gamut!
You're not kidding, all early Christmas present off the family trouble is no one checked the dates of the gigs,i'll be like a zombie come the weekend.

I would bet though the money men will be more than happy with that number of sell outs on this tour, given the current climate tours aren't selling out as fast as they once where I guess they would be more than happy 90/95% full on the dates were there's not a full house.
Saw Slash and Myles Kennedy the other night,it was ok i loved the new stuff they did but when they did the GNR stuff it left me cold,no one can sing those songs like Axl can (even if his voice isnt what it was),it just comes across as a cover band frankly, but that said a pretty good night though one that wont live in the memory too long.

It looks like the Out There tour is indeed over: http://www.examiner.com/article/magazine-celebrates-mccartney-tour-two-beatles-make-holiday-music-top-10
It's over. Let's see what 2015 brings!
I didn't see where anyone officially said that OUT THERE was over as a tour name, though it probably is about time to re-brand it. The only thing that worries me is, if it's no longer called OUT THERE, will there be fewer "New" songs?
It says at the beginning of the article, here is the quote: The end of Paul McCartney 'Out There!' tour is the subject of a two-page ad in the latest issue of Billboard, dated Nov 29, that was published on Nov. 28. The ad, which features the logos of McCartney's MPL Productions Ltd., Marshall Arts USA, Concerts West, TMG, GoldenVoice and AEG Live, features a huge picture of McCartney spread over the two pages with the words ?Paul, with you OUT THERE, the world is a better place. Sixteen amazing sell outs! Thank you.?
They're just referencing the current tour though aren't they? i'd be amazed when the next live shows are announced it wont be under a different name, the OUT THERE tour has run its course, time to call it something new.

Fleetwood Mac definitely is NOT happening again...outrageous pricing. Considering Felix Cavaliere & Mark Farner together, June 2015 in Lancaster...nice theatre size venue and only $50!
I did indeed get my tickets for Fleetwood Mac,oddly the same price as when i saw them last year so to say the least i was surprised by that.

Off-topic: Ringo has confirmed concerts in North and South America next February. The Stones will be here in March, it seems. Is Paul going to return in April/May? Time will tell.
My money is on McCartney returning to South America in April/May of 2015!
I wouldnt take that bet, surely its a racing cert he'll be there again?
I certainly remember the outcry over the jubilee and Olympics performances the jubilee was fairly poor in fairness he clearly wasn't well,i still can hear his strange voice on a TV interview prior to it and thought he should not be doing this, the outcry on twitter and certain websites/papers was harsh to say the least, the Olympics was a technical boo boo nothing more he sounded pretty good that night, but since then he just hasn't been near the UK tour wise,he has to have been warned off this market surely given his regularity in the years prior to this. I dont think it even comes down to money,American tours pays the bills that's clear anywhere else come on the back of those tours so surely if the reason is the money isnt forthcoming from Europe for whatever reason scale the show right back, take it to small venues and watch people fight over tickets, tailor it to the market. As for Australia i dont think he will ever tour there again
Saw Caro Emerald at Manchester's big arena the other night, she was brilliant, big voice in a big ole barn of a place, simply she should not have been there, shes far better in a smaller venue where she can connect with the crowd. But what a talent if she comes near try and catch her.
So this little flurry of south american dates bring the year to a close concert wise or more to come?? Thoughts?
