Funny been really busy so kinda forgotten about thetickets coming mines not with me yet but still plenty of time i suppose.
I think there's little doubt that tickets are sluggish for most artists at the moment I can't really Paul's concerts being total see outs this time round, but he's in good company it seems Take That have for my money really over reached themselves trying to fill these big barns is a big ask for more than a couple of nights that's for sure. As for Fleetwood Mac I suspect they've scheduled the shows with the Isle of white festival in mind and I suppose the draw of Christine mcvie would have played into the promoters thoughts but again they've over egged the pudding, why now take the show to other venues in the UK rather than play to half empty houses in London?

Reports in some papers that Paul was going to be in the Concert at the VE Day Celebrations on May 9th, at Horse Guard Parade, I think it was all paper talk now as he isn't officially mentioned on the Govt website. Does anyone know otherwise, please.
The tickets(with additional charges) are about £40 each. The most classic rock seems to be from Status Quo but not anyone else that is going to draw the attention ( aside from Alfie Bow, Katherine Jenkins). There are some younger acts but no one with a recent hit (Jamila, Rebecca Ferguson, Pixie Lott). I've taken a crummy seat/Gamble on this one with the hope for McCartney as a late addition, but I can't understand why that rumour would get so much PR for nothing.
Struggling sales perhaps? add a rumour of a big name people will maybe take the gamble as lets be fair about it it is a fairly weak line up for this type of thing.

According to Hollywood.com, McCartney along with Elton John, Rod Stewart and Vera Lynn are to headline to headline a special concert celebrating the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. They are apparently set to perform at the 1940s-themed gig, which commemorates the end of the Second World War in 1945 to be held at Horse Guards Parade in London on 9th May 2015. There is a gap in his May touring schedule, so this gig can easily be accommodated. Apparently Paul, Rod Stewart and Elton John are out of the running for this as (the mighty) Status Quo and Katherine Jenkins have been announced as headliners for the VE Day show at Horseguards Parade on 9th May: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3040925/Status-Quo-Katherine-Jenkins-headline-VE-Day-concert-Event-series-commemorations-mark-70th-anniversary.html Good news for fans of The Quo like me, but unfortunately it looks very much like Paul's UK shows this year will only be his May shows in London, Birmingham and Liverpool. Who knows, though, he might surprise us with some special pre-Christmas shows like he did back in 2011.
These sort of shows make my teeth itch, please honour the dead and the sacrifice they made and celebrate the anniversary of the end of the war by all means but not with fading pop stars.
Status Quo are hardly "fading popstars". Their last album sold over 100,000 copies in the UK alone, in the nine weeks after it's release and is still selling. The band consistently tour the UK and Europe selling out many of the venues they play.
This album was thier biggest selling album for 18 years so yea they had become an irrelevance which was a shame as they'd produced some darn fine music through the '70's,they suffered producing dross through the '80's in my view as did many of the older generation through that decade had. They did have a good run of TV shows to help them promote the album (as did Rod the year before if i recall rightly) so that had to have helped, plus there was the "break"from mainstream TV must have helped them, plus they packaged up old songs as new and it worked credit to Paul and NEW (not an album i rate by the way)at least his was a complete new body of work the fact that it sold badly here in the uk is something he will just have to live i suppose.

Has anyone been reading a newspaper in the UK called The Sun in the past couple of days? Apparently it mentioned more Out There concerts are being planned for the second semester.
The sun is having a good day when it prints the correct date,i woudnt put too much stock in anything it says frankly.
Cant help but we're entering the period where the next time you see Paul could well be the last,be it to reduced touring, missing your city or well you know what im talking about, but no i agree he wont ever stop but it will get less and less.
Bob Gannon:
I'm just wondering if what appears to be so few US shows this summer may mean a possibility of a later fall slate of shows. Or maybe he's just taking a light year
Guut instinct this is going to be a light year who knows though with Paul.

Honestly i cant see there being much extra added in time for Paul's concert,we're well served for music and festivals and the like and i guess as well given the small amount of time gives when he anouces concerts pretty much make it harder to get something organised.
There was nothing special in the city the last time he played in Liverpool back in December 2011. The Cavern week be a magnet for fans, as it always is, but it doesn't even look like they're doing anything special.
Yea i agree, the event of Paul playing in itself is enough for most people it seems.

While sadly long lost in the midst of time i has the first 10 of them, starting in 1983 didnt they? How time flies..
Booked to see Squeeze in october turning into a busy year i feel
First gig of the year last night when i saw Joan Armatrading at the phil in Liverpool and as ever she was on top of her game. This time round she is on her own with 3 guitars,a piano and backing tracks the woman can play the guitar for sure a masterclass of blues playing was on show last night coupled with a voice that frankly is getting better with age added up to a really nice night. Varied set list too which was nice if i had a criticism though she definetly works better with a backing band as it gives her the space to rock out a little but variety is always welcome,if you get the chance go and see her you wont be disappionted.
I feel any artist not just Paul has to work that little bit harder in front of your home crowd if i recall rightly didnt he get quite a bit of abuse and where i was sitting boo's last time out at the Echo Arena while trying to tell a Cilla Black story I often wonder the last time he got a volley from a crowd a good while i would presume, but also i have to say at the moment when that happened he quickly realised he had a job on his hands and he had to give it everything he had,it turned what had been a good concert into a great one in my eyes. Artists should be on top of the game at home it can bite you on your bum if not

I've been a fan of the Beatles (and especially Paul) since February 1964. Having Paul personally call me and my son on stage during his soundcheck in Philadelphia, is still hard to believe...(thank God for the photos taken that day)!! Those of us over the years that experienced such an extraordinary event, aren't part of an "elite group of fans" as a previous poster indicated, but just for one brief moment in time extremely lucky. I think Paul should continue to have his fans join him on stage so more people can experince the feeling I had of finally meeting someone you've admired so much your whole life!
You did it at sound check. This is about his concerts. I thinks it is a bad idea and am glad I never had to sit in the stands when it happened. Sound check is another thing. That is more casual and probably the place it should happen. Though I think charging people to be at a sound check is a scam of ridiculous proportions. But that is another thread!
Good points and i agree that if he wants someone up on stage then the soundcheck is the place for it to happen, not the full show.

the last train looks like it is from Oxford road manchester at 23:27. If the gig ends around 23:00 you should make if to Oxford road station by cab really easy and in time for the train. If it finishes earlier I'd head to Piccadilly for trains around 23:00 hrs look like a few run up until 23:10 from Picc ( Picc is also the nearest station for the Apollo ( the Apollo has a taxi rank directly outside the main doors )
Thank you very much for the info. Another thought has just crossed my mind: I will be in Liverpool on May 27. I should be free around 3 PM. Is there enough time to go to Birmingham, catch Paul's concert and return to Liverpool later that night?
I wouldnt have thought you could do the return trip on the same night, our trains are non exsistant come 11pm or so and erlier for longer trips you could stay over of course and come back the next day but that means another hotel etc.
I get what you say but Paul seemingly never stops touring whereas The Stones had such a long break from the live stuff I honestly thought the last tour was it,no criticism of them intended either keep on going till you drop because what's coming behind them arguably isn't as good
