A nice compliment. Someone appreciating your work at work. Nature. Trees. Clear skies. He did - until recently. Perhaps this bad spell is all worth it though..

That was so impressive when I saw the bagpipes come out at his London gig in December. Cool stuff. Well in music news, I wrote one-and-a-half new songs this weekend (i.e. one is not finished yet..) Made a rough demo of one which I still need to upload. Just semi-acoustic and me. Good therapy to get my mind of stress of all kinds (family, men...same old).

Love that song. I learned 'Innuendo' the other day on the semi acoustic. Not quite there yet somehow though.. Perhaps you should give me some tips on getting that Spanish flair right.

Cool thanks for sharing Oliver. Sounds great. (I missed it, like I missed the one years ago as well...) But anyway, having a literally music-packed weekend. Saw my friend's band play a 4 hour gig last night - those guys are relentless. Tonight I'm seeing the amazing Ray Davies in London. In the meantime, I'm gonna play some guitar. Trying to nail some late era Queen, somehow in that mood.

Nope sorry they haven't got any stuff online. They are relatively new as a band, as in they constantly jam together, but were not 'officially' a band. (Seperately they all have music online, will look up the links) They made the finals though!! Will try to record some footage at the open air festival they are playing. These guys also got through- some good stuff and nice people too: http://www.myspace.com/mortdelamer http://www.myspace.com/wishlisttheband http://www.myspace.com/kinkybootbeastsuk

Ah ok. Hope something else will come up soon after. How long is your job for? In 'Battle of the Bands' news, my favourite guy is through to the semifinals- twice- as a solo artist and as a band. His band came 1st place out of eight bands!! Semifinals this week. Final next week - held at a large outdoors festival. Should be good.

How's the new job? Can't believe I've been at my new job a month already.

Let me return the "congrats" on your new job. Good luck. Well my boy made it through to the semifinals of the "Battle of the Bands" contest. He was happy. Have been playing some acoustic stuff lately, learning new songs, re-writing some old lyrics I wrote years ago..

Keep it up, hope you find something soon. So most jobs in Spain are temporary only are they? I think we discussed this subject here before.. I used to go from temporary jobs to the next, it is only now I see - for the first time- some kind of direction and possibilities to develop in one field. Will be working as a CTA (Clinical Trials Associate/Assistant) for a Clinical Research Organisation, after 18 months in a temporary job at a similar company. It is my first 'proper' permanent job. Here too it's been hard with the economy, so I can't complain. (except about the commuting maybe.. but I won't. I'm used to the early mornings now).

Thanks. Starting job on Monday. I forgot- were you also looking for a job or did you find one? Yeah guess you never know with those contests. It was fun though. The next heat should be good. Hope "my guy" makes it through.

Went to the first heat of the county-wide "Battle of the Bands" contest last night. The winner will get to perform at a music festival in the summer. It was good overall, although one band I thought was pretty much crap advanced, alongside one very tight band. There is a judging panel as well as public vote the latter of which counts as 20% of the total. Several musicians I know are entering the contest, one of my friends is performing in the next heat next Thursday so will try and go to support him. Luckily it's Bank Holiday the next day, so I can sleep in. In other news, I have got a new job! Exactly what I would like to do with possibilities to develop in the field. So I'm pleased. How is everyone? Have a good weekend.

Good job. I enjoyed that. Well I went for the digital recorder, got it in the mail today. It's a nice little thing, learning about the functions now. Decent sound for demos as well, so hoping to record some new stuff soon. Hi Michelle, how are you doing? Long time no see. I saw you are seeing Ray Davies soon as well. Have a blast. I can't wait to see him in May. How is everything else? I've been a bit stressed, looking for a new job, uncertainty about other stuff, such as a certain boy.. but things will be ok. Looking forward to warm weather, spring/summer and making some plans..

Thanks for the detailed response. I meant the software etc. mainly.. I'm looking at getting something for on the go that is straightforward to use, maybe the Boss digital recorder (4 track) I keep hearing good things about. Last night's Charity Gig was great by the way. Talented people.

RE: What Concerts are you going to this year?
I'm seeing Ray Davies in May. Can't wait.

RE: * * * THE SUPERNOVA CLUB * * *
Hey Oliver, long time no speak. Sounds like you are busy with music stuff. I'm ok, been playing mainly acoustic guitar lately. Haven't been to Open Mic Nights for a while, but going to a Charity concert tonight. Several local bands are playing, as well as my guy friend.. Should be good. P.S. What recording equipment do you have/use?

RE: * * * THE SUPERNOVA CLUB * * *
How are things in the Supernova? Here ok. Looking for a new job right now. Music wise, quite good. Sorted through my mountain of lyrics, threw some out, and brought them into some sort of order. Recorded a new demo. Still going to lots of Open Mic nights and went to a wonderful Acoustic Night last Friday. Hoping to record some more stuff soon as well.

RE: What are you reading now?
H.G. Wells. In the mood to (re)read his books at the moment.

Hi Michelle, I'm very well thanks. These last few months have been really good to me. But how are you? Are you going home for Christmas?

God I love this set list. I hope it will be similar in London. Btw got my tickets by courier today!! Really excited now. Had a good week seeing live music- saw my friend play his gig which was great. Talented boy that one. Met lots of other musicians who all did their own sets and then jammed together. They meet regularly on Sunday nights so definitely going to go again. They asked me to play too sometime. Gotta think about what I can come up with.
