RE: Paul and Ringo at the Grammy's
rich n:
Saw a commercial for the Grammy's advertising appearances by both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr (no indication whether they are appearing together or separately)
They better perform "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band/With A Little Help From My Friends" together or I'll......buy Selena Gomez albums from now on. : I don't wanna "P" in my pants.

One of my co-workers actually told me about this in the middle of surgery last night and I hadn't heard about it! (she was amazed)
In the middle of performing surgery, or receiving it?? (Forgive my ignorance!)
Performing it! I'm an O.R. nurse and she is a Tech (scrubs in and hands instruments to the docs) We were doing a small bowel and colon resection.
My hat goes off to you - when I was in nursing school (which I unfortunately didn't complete) I recall my one OR experience and how it helped me determine to rule out OR nurse from my list of 'wanna be's'...Had nothing to do with the sight of anything...but rather watching that OR nurse work her arse off - she was literally everywhere in that room, constantly moving all the time...I figured I was already too old for that...LOL PS - didn't mean to stray off topic. No shock with this news regarding the White Album...as Paul once said, 'It's the bloody White Album'...LOL
Thanks Rich! I started in the O.R. in 1982 at age 27! We do have to run our arses off a lot of the time! Hence, I went P/T this past Oct. or I'd never make it to retirement.(sorry we got OT guys!) I love hearing Paul say "It's the bloody White Album!"
It sold, shut up!

Making of On The Wings Of A Nightingale and Music videoI would die a happy man if McCartney ever played this live or recorded a official version of the song himself.
You know, I actually don't need Paul to do this song. It was (and is and always will be) a perfect Everly Brothers song. It's always been one of my favorite records. So sad to lose Phil.

The Everlys released "EB 84" in 1984 to more acclaim and scored a hit with the album's "On the Wings of a Nightingale," written for them by Paul McCartney.

The Lennons visit "HAPPY DAYS"
http://omg.yahoo.com/video/yo-john-lennons-surprise-set-002007003.html Anson Williams shares a story from the "Happy Days" set, telling us about the time when John Lennon and his son Julian visited the set. Anson explains how kind Lennon was, and how the father and son spent 12 hours with the cast on set. He explains his passion for directing television and shares with us what he is working on today... On another note: Paul McCartney was depicted in a "Happy Days" spin off called "Joanie Loves Chachi" where a bass player identified as Marvin O. Pizika had the spitting image of Paul McCartney of The Beatles. Though Joanie and Chachi thought this was really Paul McCartney, he wasn't. ops: In the end, they all agreed he was Marvin O. Pizika. Later a friend of Marvin's stop by to pick up Marvin. He looked like ....I won't give it away. Mitch Weissman of the Original "BEATLEMANIA" Broadway musical of the 1970s played Marvin.

RE: DrBeatle's Book Reviews
DrBeatle:
Here's my latest review of a book detailing the "True Story of the Beatles' Song Publishing Empire." http://rnrchemist.blogspot.com/2014/01/book-review-northern-songs-true-story.html Basically, a chronicle of how they got duped out of their copyrights and what's happened, legally and financially, from 1963 to the present (well, 2007 when the book came out). Overall a very good and interesting read, mainly for the hardcore fan. Anyone here read it?
It's sad what they were receiving in royalties---after taxes. Blame Brian Epstein. Paul McCartney still makes 14% off of "Yesterday" to this day---before taxes. Yoko and the Lennon sons have HALF THE RIGHTS back because of a copyright law where the heir(s) of the deceased songwriter(s) receives back 25% of the publishing rights. Paul will get his rights back with Yoko in 2018, yearly, until 2026. Lennon (Ono)/McCartney will own 100%.

RE: BADFINGER GREATEST HITS (2013)
Background history (written in December, 2011): Dan Matovina has informed me that there will be a new Badfinger Greatest Hits CD release titled "Timeless - The Musical Legacy Of Badfinger". The CD is planned to have 16 tracks. There will be one Warner Brothers track and an Elektra Records track. The titles were decided and confirmed by EMI and Apple staff. All of the mastering for the new CD compilation will be identical to the 2010 Apple CD reissue mastering. There will be no new or previously-unreleased tracks included in this new release. All of the publishing will now be accurately represented, as the recent reissue CDs did not acknowledge the U.S. publishing. Background history (December 05, 2013 update): Universal (the new owners of EMI) have now put out the once-cancelled compilation of Badfinger songs that uses the 2010 remastered versions. Apple Corps (the master license owner) and Universal (the licensee) were inspired by Baby Blue's resurgence via Breaking Bad. A sticker hyping the song appears on the plastic covering. This compilation uses the song's U.S. single mix with the heavy reverb on the snare drum that was used in the show. Again, there are no new tracks on this CD, however, the publishing credits for all the songs are accurate for the first time (including Kobalt Music for the U.S. territory for Pete Ham & Tom Evans). You will find the current compilation "The Very Best Of Badfinger" to be cut out (discontinued), but, of course, it will linger around, still able to be purchased

RE: BADFINGER GREATEST HITS (2013)
Nancy R:
Next time someone sees Joey Molland, ask him about it! I saw him last March, but he's not going to Cancun for the Beatles 50th Anniversary deal Feb. 5-10th. Is he going to the Fest for Beatles Fans in NYC then?
The last track on this album is "Love Is Gonna Come At Last" composed Joey Molland (Joekat Music) from the WB lp, "Airwaves."
