RE: More unheard Beatles BBC recordings set for release!
moptops:
Whatever this is it won't be an improvement on the bootleggers. For over a decade almost the complete BBC recordings have been circulating, with most all the chat and most all the music that exists. Much more than will ever be released through Apple. Even the first BBC album was cobbled together. For instance there are many BETTER recordings both soundwise and performance wise of some of the selections that made it to that album, that for whatever reason were not chosen: the one that really stands out is Hippy Hippy Shake. There are many more. In fact the overall sound on the official BBC recordings was substandard, compared to the bootlegs!!! Now, as for the marketing. Early October: the BBC Volume 2 and a week later a new Howlett book. Will they clash with McCartney's new album? Will they clash with Mark Lewisohn's epic 1st installment? This is all very dumb sequencing or a stroke of genius. That looks like a very congested October/November period.
Apple and Calderstone Productions.

http://www.theverge.com/2013/9/12/4723500/the-beatles-releasing-new-compilation-of-bbc-performances-november-11 One more time : Prepare for "new" music from the Fab Four. On November 11th, The Beatles will release a followup to their 1994 album Live at The BBC. On Air ? Live at the BBC Volume 2 will include 63 tracks that hit the BBC airwaves between 1963 and 1964. None of the content here overlaps with the prior BBC compilation, according to a newly issued press release. Performances include 37 songs that are previously unreleased commercially, and fans will also hear 23 unreleased recordings of in-studio chatter between John, Paul, George, Ringo, and various radio hosts.

SiriusXM Sued by Record Labels Over Airplay of Pre-1972
http://variety.com/2013/music/news/siriusxm-sued-by-record-labels-over-airplay-of-pre-1972-classics-1200608161/ The suit also contends that SiriusXM has reproduced the recordings ? from a long list of artists including the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin and the Supremes ? and copied them to its servers from transmission to its subscribers. Even though SiriusXM compensates artists for post-1972 recordings, it refuses to pay public performance royalties for music before then, the suit states.

I know McCartney & MPL did not like that movie...
which made him film "The REAL Buddy Holly Story"...But there was some good news to report. Music Oscars for "Midnight Express" and "The Buddy Holly Story" Raquel Welch and Dean Martin presenting Giorgio Moroder with the Music (Original Score) Oscar for "Midnight Express" and Joe Renzetti with the Music (Adaptation Score) Oscar for "The Buddy Holly Story" at the 51st Annual Academy Awards in 1979. Hosted by Johnny Carson. It's funny.
