Singer Tori Amos shared that "John Lennon sat on the edge of my bed and sang one of my songs to me."
Didn't she know that was a dream? Tori says it was an actual "visitation." Maybe it was?

RE: Your favourite songs on MCCARTNEY III
Why did you write this album McCartney 3 was a "big slap to your face" upon first listening, Little Willow? Cause you then went on to say you enjoy and admire various songs. And the album in general.
The record generally. My faves so far are Women & Wives, Pretty Boys, Deep Deep Feeling, Kiss of Venus and When Winter Comes. Deep Deep Feeling exerts almost a hypnotic effect on me. It boasts some interesting and beautiful musical touches which are unexpected, and surprising treats and treasures. -
RE: McCartney 3?
My blurb on my initial very favorable reaction to "Women and Wives," "Deep Deep Feeling," and "Pretty Boys" vanished, and I think I know why--I mentioned a surprising visual in the animated cartoon (for lack of a better word) on the "Lavratory Lil" music video, but I'm not the one who drew that there. Still, I probably shouldnt have pointed it out. I haven't listened to the album enough yet for it to jell and Form a really definite impression yet. Oh yeah I really loved "Kiss of Venus" too, on first listening, too. That about the golden planets and other parts are so poetic. "When Winter
Comes" is really lovely as well. "Slidin'" and "On My Way" and "Deep Feeling" havent really moved me much yet, but I suspect those are "growers" and I'll be cra zy over them, given more intense prolonged ear time.I saw a youtube vid of Macca on Jimmy Fallen, and Fallen is really digging McCartney 3. Jimmy F. mentioned he comes in here and delves through Paul's website, he gave it a shout out ! That was cool. He's a real music lover.Oops, the title to this thread was supposed to be "My Personal Macca 3." I dont know why but it insisted I create a new thread instead of adding to the McCartney 3 thread, but I guess a Mod will rectify that.

RE: McCartney 3?
Wow...Just heard most of these new songs for the very first time; really felt "Women and Wives" and "Pretty Boys" and "Deep Deep Down" and "Kiss of Venus" I think it was, right off the bat feeling them. "Pretty Boys" he hasnt turned gay, has he ? (Just kidding) I usually think of female models before male models. I guess Stella designs men's clothing too and he was inspired seeing the fashion shows. I like his deep strong voice on this one. Yes he was a pretty boy ! Now a handsome man, still desired. "Women and Wives" he sings that with so much sincerity and emotion. It's about warm family bonds. "Lavatory Lil" is funny, a hard rocking change of pace, kind of bluesy rock. Comic relief ! But bittersweet. She must have given him a run for his money (literally) and got too wild for him, out of control to the point of showing blood on knives, yikes! Paul's artwork all through these videos adds so much even more visual originality with much different subjects than he showed on "Egypt Station" art. Less exotic and less anthropological subjects. I fancied "Deep Deep Down's" length--it draws you in, gets you into it almost hypnotically--oh yes "deep pain," "deep pains" I can relate to that, physical and mental and emotional pains, but why would he want the pain to stay, not go away? Must have referred to the "pain of love" and being love sick (?) Just some first impressions. Oh yeah the album cover opens to reveal bursts of refreshing vivid color ! In pictures. Striking contrast to the stark simplicity and darker colors of the grey color. I saw his daughter Mary open it in a public "stories" on facebook. The cutest little portable record player spinning in the bottom right corner, and a good looking gif of Paul on the left side. Mary demonstrated the different art of the album

RE: Coming Soon... Recommend and Discuss Theater/Cinema Films
would love to see Wild Mountain Thyme with Emily Blunt, Jamie Dorman, Jon Hamm...and "Nomads" starring Frances MacDorman, a road trip movie...she and lots others are on a big Jack Kerouac journey in the U.S. My God, the ocean at Big Sur looks so gorgeous...

RE: McCartney x Rubin – A Documentary in 2021
Seeing a pic of Paul with Rick Rubin, at first I thought Rick was "Youth" (who did Electric Arguments with Paul) in a long beard, LOL. He looked like Youth to me.
Rick's documentaries, I hear, are fantastic.

RE: McCartney 3?
It drops tonight at 11:45 p.m. ! I've loved every snippet of each song I've heard so far ! I heard a guy perform the entire "Lavatory Lil" on YouTube and it's a rousing rambunctious rocker, I laughed at the phrase "roll in the hay," LOL (Paul !!).
That multi-colored dice or die, well there ya go; wish it were on the cd proper, duckie. It really pops.
Many thanks for the "Kiss of Venus" lyrics, oobu--on first reading, I just skimmed, but they're lovely, quite evocative. Seemed poetic. I love them and will peruse at length and in depth.
Somebody from Oz has the entire album "Macca 3" at the Take It Away facebook group, it's on Spotify. Already got it there in Australia somehow. Gonna jump on that thang ! Hot dawg

RE: Letter to Paul (from Paul Weller)
I liked some "Blur" songs and Blur didn't come across like sour pusses, but Macca still so much more sparkling and personable and charming and wearing the purple robe and crown to me.

RE: Does Paul still have the farm in Scotland?
OOOOOOOOH, it's right on the ocean front like you said ! Nice ! Very nice. Thanks Love. Looks chilly there (shivers) I'd be bundled up to the max. They added on to that house later on 'cause I've seen pix where it looked like a long, rambling ediface, a bit shabby and plain, but one of the add ons was painted red. They probably fixed it up some, inside. Those hills behind it look bleak and treeless, it's winter time or the Fall...doesn't look like Myrtle Beach (laughs) which is semi-tropical and too commercialized. Big blazing bonfire, nice. There's Linda plodding along in her wellies. Muddy there. No doubt the villages around it look charming and quaint and old. Olde country. Gonna google image search East Sussex, Campbelltown, Peasmarch.

RE: Take It Away: The Complete Paul McCartney Archive Podcast
I had interacted with Ryan at his Take It Away facebook group
just a week before his fatal accident
He was a friendly person. He was married to Monkee Davy Jones' daughter Annabelle, and handled all social media for Davy. We won't get to hear his indepth take on "McCartney lll."
I wish his podcast partner Chris Mercer would still cover it; I think Ryan would like that. Annabel wrote on her f.b. page that Ryan learned all he could as fast as he could, about his beloved chosen field of music. He accrued so many accomplishments and achievements in his profession. It's all detailed in his obit at the Take It Away F.B. and at Takeitawaypodcast.com

RE: Take It Away: The Complete Paul McCartney Archive Podcast
I know how you feel, Russell. I've felt upset ever since I found out. Ryan's memorial service celebration of his life can be seen live streamed starting at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 12, from a funeral home in his native Chicago. You can find out more details about that at his "Take It Away" facebook group, in a new post there.
I'm going to pour over this thread, had forgot it's here. Looks like it's long and juicy. I'm jazzed. I heard their "McCartney" (cherries album) podcast last night. I thought Ryan and Chris would love "That Would Be Something" more than they did. They wished it were longer, a proper song. What there is of it is glorious...They pointed out several classics on the LP especially "Maybe I'm Amazed." Loved "Junk" and "Every Night" and "Mama Miss America" especially, saying the first two sounded like they'd been around forever, instant classics. Like "Maybe I'm Amazed."
I plan to hear their "Off the Ground" podcast next. I feel that album is kind of sumptuous, and it's underrated. I love all Paul and Elvis Costello's collaborations, except for "Don't Be Careless, Love" (that one's on Flowers in the Dirt, I think). The title track is a good little pop song, methinks. "Off the Ground" song

RE: The Paul McCartney Picture Thread
I recall you telling us about that amazing "New" unveiling event at the time, Luv2Travel. Seen now, it seems to ironically foreshadow " drive in car concerts" where peeps watch the performer from their cars, 'cause of the pandemic. (Paul did a "first" yet again !) You were so lucky to experience that. You really get around.
Paul's eyes look dark green in that big color photo of him in the colorful intricate togs. It's amazing how his big peepers change color...that's a pigeon-toed Asher in the pic of her and Paul in Greece with Paul seemingly in pajamas (LOL). I've seen that photo lots of times. I think they were in Greece.

RE: Letter to Paul (from Paul Weller)
British Moggy. who used to write copiously here about British music, especially fancied Paul Weller and Style Council and Jam--it was Weller Weller Weller seemed like constantly, though he did turn me on to other Brit artists too. I liked some of Weller's stuff. He didn't have nearly the overwhelming charisma and magic of Macca, though. Not to me. Seemed somewhat dour and even a bit grim, like the Oasis brothers, I thought, in comparison to Paul Mc.

RE: McCartney 3?
Darn the luck, the sometimes annoying (to me) Tay Tay Swift is dropping another new album around that time ! That must be why they pulled back Paul's, to the 18th. Hers comes out just a few days from now, I think. I read Swift had beaucoup different pressings and vinyl LP colors and gimmicks for hers. She was humble bragging about she just couldn't stop writing songs while making "Folklore." They're pouring out of her.

RE: Does Paul still have the farm in Scotland?
With an extended family as large as theirs, they ought to keep it in the fam, I think. I always thought those hills and land looked rather plain and barren there, with an austere sparse beauty (I'm used to lush green forests and farm land), but factor in the ocean is nearby ! It's real close, I think. An uncommercialized beach for them. Gorgeous coastline. How close is the ocean to their farm, you think? And I thought to be sure they remodeled the inside of that plain long farmhouse, some, to make it more comfy, pretty, a bit decorated, just a tad luxurious. The house looked so old and bare and plain externally. I need to go google image search the area, coastline and nearby towns. I'm curious.
