If you have HBO Max, I highly recomment watching the Carole King- James Taylor documentary (You Just Call Out My Name) showing their Troubador Reunion Tour show and interviews. They put on a very good show and their voices have aged gracefully.
Somehow I ran into Joshua Lee Turner's YouTube channel doing some masterful covers - guitar and voice - including some of the Beatles and McCartney but also other greats like Dylan, Cash, Simon...
He's also a very talented songwriter and I've been playing his 2020 album "Public Life" non-stop the last couple months.
Highly recommend if you like beautiful guitar work, rock-pop melodies, and thoughtful lyrics.
If you check him out, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
In popular music, for me, Brian Bennett stands out among drummers. He has all the qualities listed in the previous article, and more. Check out his work with the Shadows and Cliff Richard over half a century, plus his distinguished second career as a film and TV composer.
Thought this was really cute! This family has been posting music videos since the Covid lockdown began. Check out their channel and other videos.
Evidently Gregg Bissonette who plays drums for Ringo and his All Stars has seen their videos and shown them to Ringo, and Gregg even made a video playing drums with the family.
Love how the father changed the lyrics to "naughty boy you let your face mask down" instead of knickers, lol (Children were present of course! )
The naughty boy "let his face grow long" and it was the naughty girl who "let her knickers down." 😉 But changing the line to "let your face mask down" was genius! He just made both of them boys and never sang about a girl at all! 😂
All over Georgia. This concert was in Dahlonega. They came to Abbey Road On The River one year when it was still in Louisville, KY. (now across the Ohio River in Jeffersonville, IN)
I just looked where I write down my concerts I attend and THEY were the last one I saw in Aug. 2019 in Cumming, GA.
Tom Jones and Paul duet? I would love to hear them do Sex Bomb together 😉
Well, whatever they would do, I’m sure it would be great! One of Paul’s and one of Tom’s
Tom is 2 years older than Paul, but his voice is just as powerful as it was when he was younger. It makes me sad that Paul's singing voice has deteriorated so much. 😢
It happens to most everyone and the way I look at it, I’m happy my favorite artists are still playing and singing. Rejoice in the good things! It’s a blessing that Paul is putting out these great songs! I’m very happy and grateful he chooses to play and sing and share the music we’ve loved for the greater parts of our lives!!! Thanks 🙏🏼
