The Song Everyone Loves........But You .

I really really love most of the songs cited in this thread, so I was about to bust a gut reading this. Really weirded out. But granted, a few Macca ditties or parts of 'em almost make me cringe--"Average Person,' the jarring parts in "Nod Your Head,' "Waterfalls' sounds weird and droning but I've not heard it much, sometimes "Temporary Secretary' gets to me, there's a few others can't think of right now. Oh yeah the few obvious throwaways inexplicably left in, like "Tug of Peace" on "Pipes of Peace" I think it was, and such. The obvious inferiors not fully thought out or not much there to begin with. Attributed, perhaps, to Paul have a' ditsy Gemini' moment. :

how dare you come on pauls official board and say such hurtfull things about his beloved songs. he has poured his heart into those records for your enjoyment and i cant believe you could be so 'hurtfull' with your verdict. p.s only joking 'susy' i agree 100% with your choices they are all very boderline.

Let Em In, I don't get it. Fine Line (for being a Paul's first single) Waterfalls, I don't get why people love it so much many Wings stuff Let Me Roll It, because he always plays it, probably because he wants to play elec guitar... Vanilla Sky, I want to come home, I don't really like them And I'm not mad about Wings Over America, that people seems to think as his best live album ever, and I'm not with that at all... and Love Me Do BUT DON'T GET ME WRONG (excuse me for the capital letters), HE'S MY FAV MUSICIAN EVER!

I don't like that one (except for the lyrics), neither Keep Under Cover... Riding to Vanity Fair, At The Mercy... I think it's better to let it out and not to deify anybody.

I don't really even count Tug of Peace (or Hey Hey for that matter) as 'real songs' anyway - that's why I haven't listed them

I like Keep Under Cover,it's by far the best song on Pipes Of Peace. As for At The Mercy, with Too Much Rain it's the best song on Chaos.Riding To Vanity Fair is alright, nothing to love or hate really.Funny how we see things.

That one had to grow on me. Now I love it. I wish it had been a U.S. single, because I never knew it existed until this current decade.

I don't even know who you ARE anymore, Ollie.

And I didn't know it never was a US single. When I did a roadtrip with my US friend this April I hooked up my iPod to her car-stereo, the poor woman didn't even know the Frog song, apparently that wasn't an US single as well then? So they don't release all his singles there but he plays there most of the time? Hmm... unfair

Yep! If it weren't for the magic of the Internet, I wouldn't know the frog tune either.

Fair question, indeed. But -- selfishly, of course -- I ain't complainin'.

Great thread... had the idea for it when I read the favorites threads but was too much of a coward to reveal my dislikes ops: Surprised that all of my dislikes showed up considering how loved they are! The Long and Winding Road because of the way it makes me feel and for some reason the lyric "has left a pool of tears" really bothers me. Shame because it is a beautiful song really. Let It Be and I can't explain why and I didn't realize I didn't like it for years until my husband pointed out "why do you always skip Let It Be?" when listening to the album. Guess it bothers me for some reason. Michelle and Here There and Everywhere. I CANNOT and NEVER could stand these. Maybe because I am a huge Beatle fan but was a teen in the 90's and both songs cross the sickly sappy love song lines. After all at the time my other favorite band was Nirvana lol. For the most part I think I like all the other popular songs he's done. There's loads of filler I don't. Only one I can think of mentioned in this thread that I've been struggling with is House of Wax... I like a lot of MOF but even the opening bit of Wax made me skip the track. After reading reviews on this forum I've been really trying to get it. I don't dislike it as much as I did but I like A LOT more tracks on it much more... ones that would cause lazy and plastic soul man to cringe (both member's opinions I value and normally agree with btw) but I guess we just like what we like and there's not always a good explanation why. Like why am I the only person that thinks Bruce Springsteen is just awful, horrible and the worst ever? Not realated but I thought why not get that off my chest too.

Helen Wheels Bluebird (slightly growing on me) Beatles Can't Buy Me Love I'm easily pleased..
-
A Beatle track I really don't like is Rocky Raccoon.

.if i was paul i would drop most of the piano ballads. his vocals sound pretty 'shot' when hes sitting at the piano for some reason.perhaps it because most of the piano songs are more 'delicate' and he dosent have his big band to hide behind. '1985' isnt bad,but id be struggling to name another !
I think the Piano ballads are in the concert to help Paul get through three hours set without a break.

English Tea I know the spirit that the song is in, but it doesn't do it for me. Funny enough my ex wife liked it. Hmmmmm..........

i would have gone for the horribly overated 'mr bellamy' but i dont think its seriously considered to be anything more than 'filler' to anyone out there but 'memory almost full ' fans.
Now I'm a big fan of MAF and I know You're not. You probably also know I think Bellamy is one of Paul's all-time best tracks but this is my completely objective observation: It seems like when most of the people that don't like MAF have to pick tracks they don't mind, they go with Bellamy. I'll admit right away that most don't like MAF but I DEFINATELY dont think the majority see it as filler. My choice is House of Wax. Just this awful spash of nonsense noise. One of Paul's worst all time vocals. I can't even understand the lyrics.
