Best band after the beatles?
-
Plastic Soul Man:
Wings
Snap!...I love loads of different bands/artists from the 60/70s but after the beatles its Wings! I mean that in the chronological sense. The Beatles and Wings are tied favourites overall.
-
For me its Wings-PinkFloyd-Who
-
Oasis, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who, The Doors
-
Elvis Costello and The Attractions along with all his other work.
-
Pink Floyd Although tough to call this over Wings and Transvision Vamp.
-
LED ZEPPELIN
-
moonraker:
The Who

For the longest time I had a passion for the west coast sound of the Beach Boys...still will listen when the winter gets me down just for the feeling.
-
I would go for the Stones. Also U2,Oasis and even tho im not a fan,Queen.
-
Just a few here, too many to mention.. Bowie, Doors, Free, Bad Co, Dylan, Neil Young, Deep Purple, The Jam, Be Bop Deluxe and so it goes (pardon the pun) heavily into Nick Lowe the now.

Yes. And Bob Dylan.

Bob Dylan isn't a band but I do agree, definitely in songwriting, sometimes I get moments when I think he's better than Len/McC

That's why I didn't mention him before, because he's not a band, but some people named solo-artists here, so I thought it would be okay. I agree with sometimes better than Lennon/McCartney, especially when it comes to lyrics.

He may not be the greatest singer in the world but i prefer Dylan singing Dylan songs than someone else covering them, how boring would music be if singers all sounded like X-factor contestants. Dylan imo only comes second to McCartney when it comes to songwriting but i can see where you are coming from Jordan.

Yeah Macs, Dylan only knows how it's meant to be sung, I think he's a damn good vocalist. Lennon/McCartney are my number 1's but then one of Bob's magic lyrics really makes me reconsider.

To each his/her own.....you either love him or hate him......I happen to loooooove him! One of Jersey's Cardinal rules....

I've always said Pink Floyd but lately I've been listening to some live Rolling Stones bootlegs and I have to say today I have changed my mind. The Rolling Stones are the greatest band after The Beatles!
-
Wings The Beatles Pink Floyd In terms of songwriting my list would go as Paul McCartney Bob Dylan John Lennon
