Don't know if this is true but Paul is apparently watching tonights Springsteen show (Hyde Park, London) According to a post on a Springsteen message board he is backstage...and Bruce is just starting his encores! Maybe Paul will be putting in a guest appearance?
Keep us posted.

Apparently Bruce broke the Hyde Park curfew and the sound was cut at the end of Twist & Shout x That might have been the last song he intended to play because Bruce has occasionally been playing T&S as his last song on this tour but I just wonder if he was planning to do a couple more with Paul tonight? If he was I bet he is furious!
-
yeah...they are old buds now...
They played at the grammys together on Paul's song. This is Bruce & Dave Grohl gushing over Paul at the Grammys...Paul's part starts at about 8:40... http://www.grammy.com/news/a-death-in-the-family-reveals-how-the-grammy-show-went-on

According to some tweets the sound was cut during Twist & Shout because it was past curfew! If that is true it's absolutely ridiculous.

Doubtful, Twist & Shout is usually the final song when Bruce adds it to the set. But FINALLY he & Paul do something together and I miss it?

Can anyone here name other performers who at 70 years old do what Paul does live? Of course not. His voice is not what it used to be but it's darn good for his age and show lenght.
Your post says it better than I could ever say it!
Can't agree more, hope to still be around at 70!!!!!! What other major star besides maybe Bruce, plays close to that long. How do you pull the plug on these guys?

Pretty much.
I imagine the setlist discussion going something like this: Paul: "Hey guys, let's put in a song that NO ONE is expecting! How about 'Hey Jude'?"
I have to admit I laughed
We finally agree on something.

im not sure about their show length. but 'tom jones','paul simon' and 'neil diamond' all sound way better that paul mccartney these days. 'neil young' sounds better too they are all around pauls age i would say. 'elton john' sounds no worse than paul and neither does 'mick jagger'. the only one that sounds worse is of course the dreadful 'bob dylan'.! i would certainly accept an hour off maccas show if he still sounded good. its about quality not quantity.the show length time is a bit of a red hearing and you know it.

In short....no. That is not entirely true. I just saw Neil Diamond a month ago. He puts on half the length of a McCartney concert, with half the energy, and his voice is not better. It was annoying how much he left out. Tom Jones has always had a better voice than Paul, won't disagree there. Neil Young and Mick Jagger have NEVER had voices and should not have even been brought up. Elton John is far worse than Paul, but the two are easily comparable as they're voices have changed a bit over time in a noticeable manner...Elton's far more than Paul's.

Sorry...wrong usage of "their" above...the little things bug me.

Well, if that's all you and I disagree on...then I'd say we're alright.
I shouldn't say "better". That is very vague. Tom has always had a stronger voice than Paul. His voice is so much bigger and well...kinda pompous.

Guns N roses play 3 hours pretty much all the time if Axl turns up early enough but agreed though that most of these newer stars couldn't even think about staying on anywhere near 3 hours

Bon Jovi rocks too! He's in the league of Paul, I'd say. Class act entertainer and always puts on an energetic show. He's not really mainstream anymore either, so I don't classify him with the "young, modern" performers of today. For the most part, those performers just plain stink. Lol
