A Big Thank You From PaulMcCartney.com
-
My point in posting the video is to address that they're acknowledging everything -- except how p.o.'ed a lot of the Premium Members are/were.
-
Agreed! They have a contest. : I mean...that is a good thing but no, they are not listening. A contest is only for a handful of people. The majority probably won't be able to take part in it.

They're listening, but they're not understanding. Unless the contest involves something like meeting him in person (logistically impossible for ALL members to do), I don't see how this satisfies the "goodies" promise in a fair way. There should, at least, be something else for ALL the premium members (personally, a download is okay with me, but it needs to be something exclusive and otherwise unavailable).

Hi All, There has been a great deal happening behind the scenes at PaulMcCartney.com so we thought we?d send you another quick update. Firstly, we have been busy reading your feedback ? thanks for taking the time to leave us your messages here on the official Maccaboard Forum, Disqus (onsite comments) and the official Paul McCartney Facebook page. Please note that we are especially interested in hearing how you feel we can improve the PaulMcCartney.com experience. We do want you to be involved in moulding your new site and have been collating all your ideas for site changes for consideration. Soon you will also be asked to participate in polls, which will ask specific questions on how the site should work. In addition to this, a closed working group will be selected to work closely with us to test some of the new website developments. Your opinions matter! Lastly, we have some exciting news for our Premium Members. Next week we will launch a new competition giving Premium Members the chance to win some very special memorabilia packages full of unreleased and rare promotional items. Check back on the forum next week for more information, but in the meantime let us whet your appetite by saying that the first prize will be something unique! Thanks again, PaulMcCartney.com
cheers you are doing a great job

I'm sorry, but I don't feel MPL is listening if they are only offering a contest. That will only be satisfactory to the winner(s) and no one else. You are not listening and are not responding to our frustration.

A competition is great and should be run perhaps on a semi regular basis but open it to ALL members,as an offer of an olive branch to hacked off premium members i think its going to fall a little short because by the very nature of a competition only one or two people are going to be happy. Not moaning at MPL but just my thoughts on it thats all.

I almost never win something, so I'm not feeling happy with that resolution.

We were all wanting a contest but it was for the Premium members or something. Not this. It's like telling us we were all going to get a reward, then holding up only one and making us fight for it, or show each other who is the fairest goddess. (Trojan war reference there in case it went over your head. I'm a nerd)

Hey, I know what would be great: the McCartney/Costello demos! The bootlegs out there are just of passable quality, and I'm assuming they haven't ever been released because of the complicated issues of the rights to release them. But if the website gave them away to us, that would not be an issue. Just a thought!

personally, I can't wait for this contest. Am I the only one? To have a chance at owning some unique McCartney memorabilia would be like a personal Christmas gift from Paul to Me! I spent about 5-6 making 12 photo entries for the photo-contest hoping to win a limited #ed poster but didn't win squat. I'm not bitter, I just really want something special that connects me to Paul. I'm not saying I deserve it either. Were not entitled to anything. The only thing is, I got finals next week. I won't even get to watch the 12/12/12 concert because I have a test that evening . But I will have to make time for this contest, luck has not been with me in recent events, but I am hopeful. Maybe Paul's optimism has rubbed off on me, because, I think, if I put enough effort into the contest, then I may actually have a chance. With A Little Luck...

Can't do anything online with pictures of music so if the contest involves anything like that, I can't enter. No contests. Something for everybody.

I'm sure it will be fair, probably like you have X amount of entries for Y amount of prizes. Then it's probably a raffle sort of thing. I wonder what the memorabilia is? Flaming Pie on vinyl perhaps? Or maybe give away the first WOA Box Set? Or maybe prints of pictures used in McCartney, RAM, BOTR etc. Maybe it's that Live And Let Die single I can never find. They said the first prize will be something unique...One can only guess. I feel like Kramer in Seinfeld when there's something that he just can't handle."IT'S EATING ME UP INSIDE!!!"

I have been a member on this site for years. I have not posted in ages because it's a two tier site which annoys me. One for those who can afford an upgrade and one for the poor who cant. It's shocking. Shame on the people who drive it and shame on you Paul for letting them do it. This site should be for all and not for the rich few.

You are correct... they never charged for the forum. It may have been 'lost' for awhile to some people that just couldn't find it. Maybe they only saw the 'beta' site & there was no link at the time.

and so far that's the only contest I would be allowed to enter and I'm an artist too but not for 20 years. I don't want to see another picture contest. I want something I can enter.
-
There is no kind of artistic contest I could enter. It would have to be a random drawing, which is pointless.
-
i'm not saying it should be an artistic contest. Just saying that I wish I had one a previous one (0n facebook). A chance to win some rare collectables is better than not having any chance at all. There is also nothing saying that this is the last goodie. As far as I am concerned, there will eventually be something that every Premium Member will get, hopefully in physical format. But I believe that MPL is working on this issue diligently. There is only so much they can do as far as free goodies are concerned. I am hoping for more announcements on that contest. also as far as improving the site is concerned, I would like to purchase and download albums strait from site like in the past. Put music videos available for purchase too. I would like to have Beautiful Night & Coming Up on my iPod. Lastly, BRING BACK RUDE STUDIO!!!!

How many contests have there already been? There was one on Talenthouse, one for singing and/or playing what was it...?, one with instagram, one other? When winners are picked from amount of votes...I do not think that is fair. That makes it a popularity contest. The one on talenthouse...there were many great ones that did not even come in the upper 50. All because people found a way to vote multiple times. THAT, I do not think is a fair way to go.
