Predict Next Setlist

SusyLuvsPaul:
They've had enough time to go over some new, different set list additions/replacements, don't y'all think? and to do them well enough to add 'em to the shows No shortage of talent, there
-
Damn, 'Young Boy' somewhere in the middle of the set, would work so well.
-
Going back to the acoustic part, so far I've got to hear; I will, I've Just seen a Face & And I love her. Instead of those this time around I'm hoping for; Two of us Every Night Things we said today Here There and Everywhere I'm looking through you Maybe Paul will do the same as before and rotate these in and out.

We can probably start predicting what the setlist for the next tour might look like. Here is a list of songs that he has to perform in every show for his new fans (the crowd pleasers): The Long And Winding Road Blackbird Eleanor Rigby Band On The Run Back In The USSR Let It Be Live And Let Die Hey Jude Lady Madonna Get Back Yesterday Helter Skelter I assume that he will keep the new songs that he did on this tour such as Venus and Mars, Letting Go and Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five as well. I also read somewhere that he did a couple of new Fireman songs in his soundchecks, but I can't remember what they were, there is a possibility that they might get added too.
Setlist will stay pretty much the same IMO. The only question IMO is if he has new record out before or during tour. In that case, audience may get 3-4 new songs in setlist.

Unfortunately, I'm inclined to agree with you. I posted my fantasy setlist a couple of pages back, and based the selection of songs on ones that could still be performed well given Paul's limits in terms of vocal range. He may open with Venus and Mars/Rockshow, reintroduce My Love, and the occasional Letting Go (one of my least favorite Wings songs). Those songs would be included for the sake of the WOA re-release. But then again, it's not like he performed tons of songs from Ram when that was re-released last year. I never cared for Young Boy, and I think he has better material off of Flaming Pie, and I'll never understand the fascination with Hope of Deliverance. That said, their inclusion would at least represent a change in the setlist. I think Paul knows that to promote WOA, all he needs to do is tour (it's a live album). A new studio album wouldn't be released before the tour begins in May, there's just not enough time for marketing.

Artists/Bands don't really tour albums anymore. The recording industry is not where the money is at, it's in the concert industry...ESPECIALLY for Paul!!! :

Yes and no. Springsteen is touring "Wrecking Ball," Leonard Cohen is touring "Old Ideas," Mumford and Sons are touring "Babel." But yes, what you say is true, albums don't make the same kind of money any more, and the touring (and super-mega-deluxe-happy-happy versions of Wings Over America, Ram, etc.) make the bulk of the profit for recording artists these days.

Well yes, I believe this divides the true artists from the money-making-machines...

IMO - Most people in concert crowd will not care one bit about WOA, concerts have basically become a Beatle love fest. I understand the reason just stating the obvious. This tour like others will have a couple of changes to make it "minty-fresh" (lol) and a bunch of people on this board will go heads over heels crazy about the different songs added. In my perfect McCartney concert, he would perform the 18-20 Beatle songs he feels he has to for the majority of the crowd. The remaining 10-15 songs would be Wings/Solo/Fireman songs that he has never played live before or has not done them in 15-20 years. I will name a few that I would like. If McCartney has released new record, then I would love to have 3-4 of the songs be new ones from that record. 1) Take It Away 2) Promise To You Girl 3) Dance Til We're High 4) Run Devil Run 5) Little Willow 6) Ever Present Past 7) Rockestra My Brave Face 9) Another Day 10) Soily 11) Beautiful Night 12) House of Wax

That's a nice selection. I love My Brave Face, but it's one of the few songs that did not sound good live, IMO. It would be great if there was some way to rework it. The opening vocals on the 1989/90 world tour were somewhat lacking. Perhaps if he sang along to a backing track of his voice overdubbed? Isn't this how he does those parts where he sings over his own lines on Here Today?

No, the sound guy just adds a delay to his mic for that part. Its all live.

You're welcome! Hopefully I'll be able to give everyone good news either during the concert or right afterwards. It will be extremely crowded, as all 52,000 tickets were sold (plus the 250 Hot Sound packages), but I'll do my best to get to the front row and share some good videos and pictures.

i would for him to play through our love and back seat of my car but he'll never play them
