Paul McCartney 2013 Rumours

Any rumors on Atlanta? I got to believe he will play there eventually, considering his track record there over the years. He last hit it in 2009. That could hook into a Tampa show nicely, in terms of nearby geography reducing costs of moving staging, etc.
THANK YOU. I couldn't agree more. And it makes sense. Hey RMartinez, I said nothing about AUGUST. The concerts I reeled off aren't till late September and October. : It was a mere observation due to the fact hat at least a dozen people mentioned they had heard the rumour PLUS the arena was attracting big names this autumn and winter.
I was thinking August too because that's when his Canadian dates are over...at least it read that way...

Nobody Knows.

Heard from a friend today who bought a tour tshirt in Orlando (not sure if it was official merchandise) but supposedly, under AUGUST, Buffalo was listed! No specific date, though. I like that rumor!

Check this out: http://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/blog/alphabet_soup/2013/05/macca-to-buffalo.html Don't get your hopes up yet. The Indianapolis date turned out to be earlier than August, and remember what happened in New Mexico when we thought there would be a show here in May. We will know more about new dates probably in June.

How about the Crown Colliseum in Fayetteville, N.C. (LOL) Too small potatoes, I guess...Elvis played there before though

Elvis played Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque in 1972. Elton John played there, Tom Petty played there, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant played there. I don't see why Paul McCartney can't play there.

Obviously after Barclays Center, it isn't the size of the venue it's the $$$

Oh hell yeah. Tingley can hold 12,000 on a good day, but Albuquerque could not generate $2 million for a McCartney show. MAYBE $1.5 million. I do think New Mexico can make $ for McCartney but he would need to do a stadium show, where 20,000 of the total seats can be sold for $50 a pop.
-
Yeah, I guess I will never see Paul in concert...have given up. Elton John at least came to my town in March 2013, where it holds over 10,000 fans. But Paul is all about the money. Never thought I'd see Elton John instead of Paul. That's the way the cookie crumbles. Cool. p.s.> the Garrett Coliseum where Elton played holds 13, 500 people. I guess it is not good enough 4 Paul.

Maybe he can do The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill as the Continuing Story of the Buffalo Bills as both a John tribute and whimsical nod to the local NFL team! Seriously, three years ago when he last played Charlotte, there were t-shirts showing up early in the tour that had Raleigh, N..C. on them and apparently that city lost out to nearby Charlotte as Charlotte could bring in more $$. T-shirts can be a good indicator of at least something being generated in the vicinity.

Just played "Guess a Paul Atlanta Venue" on Google. Googled Macca's formal name with Turner Field and the Wikipedia page for Turner Field tells me he has already played there which is dead wrong since I have seen him at every venue in Atlanta since the 1970s. Weird but makes me wonder if someone who thinks they know something went ahead and put down a possible future event as if it were a fact.

The Beatles played at the old Atlanta Stadium (which John said in an interview had the best sound system) but you're right, Paul never played the stadium, either Atlanta or Turner Field. He played the Omni (1976, 1990), which was torn down to build Philips Arena where he played in 2002 and 2005, and the GA Dome (1993).

The guy who did the sound for the Atlanta Stadium concert is the developer of outdoor concert PA sound. He also did the sound for Woodstock. His name is Bill Hanley.

Totally unrelated to paul, but re: Woodstock...the famous Chip Monk lives here in Melbourne. A good mate interviewed him once and boy, the stories he can tell...on the back of Woodstock he got gigs with The Rolling Stones...

Well, today was when McCartney was originally going to play in New Mexico until the tour was "re-rerouted" to Memphis. Whatever that means. I celebrated this non-event by having a steak sandwich at a gig we did, and playing a slew of Lennon and Harrison songs. The crowd loved it!!

I think Paul will finish up Out There, release a new album in December before XMas, do a few promo gigs near Xmas and then launch a new tour in Australia in January, working his way over to the US in the summer.
-
Nah...I'm feeling new album in September followed by European Tour to finish the year out with Christmas UK gigs once more.
