Paul's upcoming album review they say its HOT!

Still can't believe how much info there is and yet no release date or title !

Gotta' tell ya': This lack of information is -- either inadvertently or deliberately -- proving to be an effective marketing-tactic in itself. There's definitely a buzz growing.
I think its the way forward isnt it given that sales have fallen through the floor when you compare back to the heyday of album sales.

I don't think the tour will be any bigger than what has been going on, those days are long over. He didn't do over 7 or 8 shows in any month this year. I'd expect more of the same
Agreed, while he has reserves of energy that would shame the vast majority of us he is getting older simple as that.

Well, again, I just think it'll be bigger than this year. He skipped many major cities this year, and between the new album and the fiftieth anniversary of the Beatles' US Invasion, this could be his last big blowout!

I am sitting here listening to a Regina radio station interview from late Wed. with Paul on the way to the concert where he discusses how pleased he is with his new album (not naming the title) when asked about what work he is most pleased with, earlier having mentioned Rubber Soul, Pepper with Beatles and BOTR, this new one away from them. See that thread on Rock Show section, bottom of second section of that very short thread.

Well, again, I just think it'll be bigger than this year. He skipped many major cities this year, and between the new album and the fiftieth anniversary of the Beatles' US Invasion, this could be his last big blowout! I don't think it will be much bigger than any of his recent years 2013-32 shows with Iheart & Japan 2012- 19 shows 2011-26 shows 2010-35 shows 2009-22 shows I think this shows you the trend of his touring and how big or small it may be. I doubt he feels pressure to hit every so called big market city. He fits in what he fits in and that's that. Look at this year, shows followed no cohesive plan going all over the place. He's been skipping major market since 2009 so that's not new. As far as Europe, the money isn't there like it is in the US and South America which is why he keeps dipping in that pool. Very poor showings in VIP sales in Europe save England which still doesn't reach the heights of the US. A big tour might reach 40 and even that I don't see new album, 50 years or not. He is getting older and the strategy is to save his voice and not over do it

Now that Paul is confirmed for the iHeartRadio gig in Vegas on Sept 21st, I wouldn't be surprised to see him perform his new single live - that's right about the time it was allegedly going to be released. Plus that thing will be broadcast live on ClearChannel stations, so it will be a big opportunity for Paul's new song to get "out there" (pun intended).
The only reason to do the iHeartRadio thing is to promote the new album. Expect to hear the new single and maybe another track or two. It's not unusual anymore, now that singles are basically just radio vehicles and digital downloads, to promote a couple songs at the same time for different radio formats -- e.g. one for Adult Contemporary and one for Rock/Triple A stations.

I didnt say he wont tour again, but i think the days of massive tours are over he clearly has a plan that preserves himself and lets be fair it works for the most part,so again i think he'll be on the road again but at the pace he's set himself of the last 5 years or so. If its not broke it doesn't need fixing.

Certainly he has to worry about his voice and stamina, but he also has not had a full-blown Paul McCartney rock album to promote since before those years you cite. If he can possibly do it (maybe a big if, I'll admit), I think he'll go for it.

Nice radio interview in Regina, Canada, just before the final night of this tour. He gives them over 15 minutes while stuck in traffic on the way to the show. When they get to the new album, toward the end, he says it's "right up there" with Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, and the White Album. Let's hope so! http://ckom.com/story/exclusive-paul-mccartney-interviews-news-talk-radio-ahead-concert-mosaic-tonight/126632

Wow...the hyping is getting out of hand, so he's somehow managed to get back to the magic of 65/68 ?!

If you listen to the actual interview, that's not quite what he said. He was asked, out of all of his albums (Beatles, Wings, solo) which ones he LIKED the best. He responded that he liked Rubber Soul, and then he mentioned Sgt. Pepper. Then he said that of his solo stuff he liked Band on the Run and finally he said "and this new album is right up there" -- meaning it's among his favorites of the work he's done.

The precise question was: "Paul, is there an era, or an album, or a song that defines you as a musician and an entertainer?"

Ok, that makes more sense, one can only hope that he'd describe his latest stuff is among his favorites (that's an improvement over P2P where he was having a hard time defending it) doesn't mean much as to the actual "quality" though. Reminds of when the Stones released "A Bigger Bang" and Keith was asked what his favorite song was and he replied "This Place is Empty" and probably noticing the interviewer's surprise he corrected himself and said "oh you mean Stones' song, that would be Gimme Shelter". These guys ain't dumb, they know better than we do how their current material stacks up... Having said that I've always enjoyed, and been excited, by new Macca releases since I've been able to wait for them, i.e. since Tug of War

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/paul-mccartney-new-album-producers/ According to this headline dated from yesterday - he is lining up producers for an album....so this "Hot" album from so-called "insiders" is what.....a bunch of demo's that are being played/shopped around? Or the timeliness of the article is off by a few months.

the article is early July I believe. Album is supposedly done and set for release in October according to all we hear. Single sometime in late August/early September..these street dates change all the time but we'll see. Since the tour is over for now, I see him switching into promotional mode next week. We've already started seeing mentions of the new album this week. Not alot of info on it but the talk is starting and that's good news
