Time Machine to see The Beatles

Hey Kittay, Do you like Chinese food? I'll pick you up at 8!

Erik in NJ:
What would you do?
no comment. ops:

I'll pick you up at 9!

Maybe at Paul's house when he had some beautiful groupies over for "tea." I'd ask him to step out for a bit and get a "haircut" Seriously though, I'm with Toris in that I'd rather talk to them as adults, probably towards the end of their career. I'd have to say that I would have very much liked to have been at Abbey Road Studios when they recorded "The End." From what I understand that was done as a live take with three guitars (after some rehearsal) and they nailed it on take two or something like that. It would have been interesting to talk to them about the album itself and especially Paul regarding the magic of Side 2. Post Beatles I would have liked to spend some time with just Paul, Linda, and their kids on their farm in Scotland.

I thought I read it was done in a single take. Which is incredible and a testament to their abilities to work as a group.

I think you're right. I don't recall the whole story. I believe they individually rehearsed their parts the day before. It's funny because I was reading when they started to play together again as a band for "Let It Be" they were supposedly out of practice as a cohesive unit. Maybe the hundreds of songs they played together there got them in better shape. Certainly "The End" is a masterpiece and one of the finest pieces of instrumental work they did as a band.

Erik, that was a good April Fool's post.

Yours or mine?

Both of our posts. Happy April Fool's Day Everyone!

That's rough picking just one moment... Any show during the Beatles UK Fall tour in '65...great set list! During the filming of the Hey Bulldog video in early '68. ...and last but not least, the rooftop concert.

If you have a change of heart--you know where to find me

Actually I don't know anyone named Erik unless he is the lawn man. Yeah, I guess the food was pretty good. Thanks 4 reminding me of a positive. **edited: Thank you Scarlett I read your post and it was very kind. btw: I really do wish I could time travel and perform a fertility rite with John and Paul for an hour. I was just fooling that I did not. Peace & Love!
-
That is the second lawn man named Erik that I have heard of in two days now--seriously! I'm still not sure what the game Queenie Eye is--care to enlighten me through a PM? Now you have my curiosity aroused! Well look on the bright side Kit--it was his loss and you did get Chinese food out of the deal

Nancy R:
You had Paul for one hour and you want to hear him sing Oh! Darling 20 times? I'm afraid I'd have other things on my mind to do with Paul in 1968! ops:
Nancy, the way these time machines work is that you travel at the same age you are now ...or were you hoping to be the age you were in 1968? It makes you either too old for him or too young (and illegal) for him...but a girl can dream I guess!
-
It's definitely HIS loss, Kittay. You're a kind and thoughtful person, I can see that in just the short time I've been here. You make the universe a brighter place. Peace to you! Scarlett

I think it would be the "All You Need Is Love" broadcast. Big production, lots of other big names, positive message. Maybe I could hold one of those signs! Had to be a pretty loose and fun atmosphere. I'm kind of introverted, so hanging out with them alone would probably be too daunting, and I wouldn't know what to say!
-
Are any of the Beatles considered to be introverts, Fave? I was thinking maybe George? He would talk quietly with you in a corner of the room I'm sure. None of the Beatles seemed shy but they could have been secret introverts. Well, not Paul. I'm a little surprised with the answers here so far. No one wants to help The Beatles write a song? I'd love to do that. I couldn't do the music at all but I know I could do the lyrics. "Yellow Submarine" would be so easy to come up with alternate lyrics I think. "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" too. Anyone else think they'd like to go back in time to help write a Beatles song? Forgot to say that if I'm going back to the 60's for an hour I'm taking a few minutes to call my mom and dad.

Maybe, for all reasons Beatle-related and my own selfish desires, I'd pick 1968 so I could whisk myself off just for five minutes to have a quick catch-up with Linda Harrison, Barbara Feldon and Julie Newmar in between the White Album sessions... cos the whole thing is a fantasy, right?...but if I had a real chance to catch up with all four Beatles, it would be mid-70's, or even later, to speak to them as men, and not boys. Could they get back together? Would they get back together? Did the years of media, and themselves, pitting each other against one another, totally sour their relationship? Was it all still salvageable? What did they think of each others' solo albums? Could they acknowledge that they could've handled things better? All four in the one place, revaluating just how good they were? Yeah, that'd be my time of choice.
This was a very thoughtful and thought-provoking response, Toris. And very sneaky of you to whisk yourself off to visit others who would have been around at that time. I remember Barbara Feldon...she was on the TV show "Get Smart" and I seem to remember her lying on a bear rug in some sort of provocative commercial or am I confusing her with someone else? I remember Julie Newmar....she's that tall woman who played the original Cat Woman in the Batman TV series. Don't know Linda Harrison....why did you choose her?
That was Barbara Feldon, yes... on some kind of rug...although a bit before my time, that commercial. Linda Harrison played Nova in Planet of the Apes. Beautiful "girlfriend" of Charlton Heston who could not speak.... hmmm, interesting combination. I shall refrain from elaborating for fear of incurring a wrath... Actually, if I was a musician (and I'm not. I'm a hack who strums around), that would be awesome playing with the four lads. Although damn intimidating. Perhaps to be around with a clear earfull of John slowly drawling "Cranberry Sauce/I buried Paul" or up on the roof looking at the expressions of people looking up realising it was the Beatles.

Who is Linda Harrison? ETA: Never mind, I see your above answer. And I think you'd need a bit more than an hour to talk to all 4 in the mid-70's about getting back together!

I would have liked to have been there when Yoko showed up on John's doorstep "trying to obtain a Beatles manuscript" so I could whisper in his ear "Don't do it man, you're a f'ing star, you can do SO much better!"
She showed up on Paul's doorstep first, and Paul was the one who directed her to John!
