Name the best song he never played live.....
-
Paul really should just make the show a little bit more even. We are getting 20+ Beatles songs, about 8 Wings songs, and like 5 or 6 solo songs including Here Today which has been in his show for 12 years. He literally ignores his music from 1980 to present. I get that he won't really do stuff from the new millennium since it's considered recent (Driving Rain, Chaos). And fine, if there isn't going to be any changes to adding more solo music, then change the setlist up a bit. If it's going to be a Beatle show at a Paul concert then bring it Beatle tunes we haven't heard yet, or haven't been played in awhile (Penny Lane, Here There and Everywhere, You Won't See Me, Rocky Raccoon, What You're Doing). But yeah, if that's the case and nothing from the McCartney catalog from 1980 and on is going to ever be played, then mix The Beatle songs up!! I would love for this to happen during the acoustic - Put It There - Here There and Everywhere (think 2002 version with band) - Calico Skies (think Good Evening New York City version with band) - Early Days (with band; Wix on accordion, Abe on snare, Brian and Rusty backing guitar similar to first 2 songs above) - Little Willow This could even be the "tribute" part of the show I may add

Yes, probably a more realistic scenario. However, if I had to pick one track (since that's what the original question asked for ), it would be "Take It Away."

Choosing just one song is extremely difficult. I'm torn between Uncle Albert and Backseat of My Car.
-
Beatles -What You're Doing -Another Girl -Oh! Darling Wings/70's -Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey -Helen Wheels -With a Little Luck 80's -Tug of War -Pipes of Peace -No More Lonely Nights 90's ...the vast majority of "Flaming Pie". 00's -I Do -This Never Happened Before -Ever Present Past
-
The acoustic obscurities I've always loved are 'The Songs We Were Singing' and 'Put it There'. Both just beautiful songs. As for others, I have always had a soft spot for 'The Backseat of My Car' and 'Daytime Nightime Suffering'. I liked 'Big Barn Bed' but I feel that needs Linda's vocals and I think 'Same Time, Next Year' would be a great pre-closer.

70's wish list Piano set: Single Pigeon Suicide London Town The Back Seat Of My Car Get On The Right Thing Rock set: Monkberry Moon Delight Girls' School Cafe On The Left Bank Old Siam, Sir To You Acoustic set: Heart Of The Country Mama's Little Girl Little Lamb Dragonfly Country Dreamer Sally G Don't Let It Bring You Down Pop/bass set: Love In Song Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey Daytime Nightime Suffering Unfortunately it's already too late for many of these.
Well, it's not unheard-of for Paul to pull an obscure '70s song out of mothballs (C Moon, Too Many People), so I wouldn't say it's too late. But getting just one from your list is about all we're likely to get in the best case scenario.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of this thread. The question was, what is the best song he never played live, not what songs do you want him to play live that he never has! IMO, the best song he never played live (and never will because he couldn't physically do it justice now) is Oh! Darling. ETA: I went back and read Steve's initial post and I guess he does want to know which he should play live now. I hope he only plays ones he can do, such as What You're Doing, Another Girl, Take It Away or Listen To What The Man Said.

sound like... so far.... getting a lot of votes for Uncle Albert Take It Away keep going fellow macca fans.......
-
I'd would go for: No More Lonely Nights Take it Away Beautiful Night also In My Life (would be a fitting tribute for John).
-
No More Lonely Nights Back Seat of My Car Uncle Albert
-
Many of these have been said before, but... Wanderlust The World Tonight Friends to Go That Was Me Beautiful Night Run Devil Run I'm not holding my breath...
-
Was "Helen Wheels" ever performed live? I can't recall that it was... That would get my vote. Or possibly "No More Lonely Nights" or "Tug of War".
-
I seem to remember that he did Get Out of My Way from Off the Ground at the Ed Sullivan Theatre promo show but I don't think made it on to the stage as part of the New World Tour in 1993. That was a hot rocker that I wish he had done that year. Come to think of it, I will settle for this summer instead.
-
My vote: Sally G. He's not played that one that I know of. It's one of the two he wrote here in Nashville (along with Junior's Farm.). Was bummed to not hear JF back in 2010 but he blew the roof off with it at Bonnaroo last summer, so it was worth the wait! Runner up: Ballroom Dancing. One of my favorites. I had 1985 for a long time, but? (I think he should play Moogfest or the Big Ears Festival just so he can perform Temporary Secretary. I'd pay whatever it took for tickets, personally? ;))

That's great! Is Come And Get It listed? I didn't see it.
