What Keeps You Coming Back?
-
I also keep coming back because its how I want to spend my time. We all have a limited quantity and most of us don't know how much we have. I have such a good time at Paul's shows - I wouldn't trade it!
-
I'm actually kind of neutral about seeing Paul again, but friends are dragging me to the show at Candlestick. I'm sure I'll have a good time, but I'm basically happy with the memories of the 6 Paul shows I've seen.

Oh, Bruce, you know you'll love it once you're there!!

Because he's PAUL and he's (w/ others, of course) pretty much written the soundtrack to my life Been a fan since I heard "I Saw Her Standing There" at the tender age of 5 (so now y'all know how old I AM!) Too young to see The Beatles and never got to see Wings. It was hard back in the old days . . .unless they played right in your town or very near . . .it was standing at the box office in line for days to get tickets. I know we all b*tch about CrowdSurge and TM but they make it possible for us to get tickets anywhere we want w/ the click of a few computer keys (or at least to give it a go). But I digress . . .I only get the chance to do a Macca gig every 4-5 years it seems. This summer will be my 6th since 1990 and I'm doing soundcheck for the first (and most likely only time) . . .I can't wait

Did you go wo high school with other students who liked Paul/Beatles, or were you by yourself in this regard?
I went to a high school with about 400 fellow students in my graduating class. To my knowledge, there were about 3 or 4 people (amongst my group of friends) who were my age and liked The Beatles, Elvis, rockabilly, etc. Probably a few more who I didn't know. I found out later after high school, mainly when Beatles Rock Band came out, that there were more of them. Before high school, I was indeed alone in my support of the Beatles. My friends who were/are into pop and hiphop didn't care for "old music". It was in college that I went from just liking the Beatles to embracing McCartney's songbook and career, and found a lot more people my own age who were fans of the Beatles. I'd see people wearing vintage Beatle shirts, the '60s hair/fashion, etc., but I'm not exaggerating when I say about 4/5 people I found in their 20's and 30's were big-time Lennon fans. Not too many on the McCartney bandwagon. I met people who loved The Beatles but had no clue what Wings is. They usually like Paul (some don't), but they love John. It seems when I ask people who their favorite Beatle is, the older folks tend to say Paul, the younger people my age often say John, and then the occasional George or Ringo. I know that there are indeed many people of my generation at Paul's concerts. I just have to find them!

I've noticed this too! I'm a Paul McCartney fan big time and 17 but sadly can't find others around my age.

I was constantly taunted by people in my HS class. Someone once asked why I liked a bunch of dead guys. They didn't even know that three of them were still with us at the time!

I go back because I have loved Paul since I saw his picture in 16 magazine at the tender age of 12. I only wish I could see him more often. 5 times in 12 years is not enough!

I've only seen him 5 times (soon to be 6) in 38 years, so count yourself lucky!

To me, Paul's music is the most beautiful music I've ever heard. It lifts me up, it soothes my soul and it makes me happier, than I am,when listening to any other music! It's the most perfect and most beautiful of all. Being at a Paul concert, looking around and seeing the happiness and peacefulness on the faces of those around me, feels like a piece of Heaven on Earth....the joy on everyones faces says it all!!
