Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors
-
One more thing: last month I gave a document to Paul's band members and to a few people from his staff who have direct access to him, suggesting that he might consider exploring new territory in Brazil, specifically the Amazon region. That paper includes facts about my city (population, details on the stadium, etc) and all those who read it expressed curiosity and promised to show it to Paul. If he is really planning more shows in Brazil, now he is aware of another option, and being an ecologist and supporter of animal rights and the preservation of the rainforest, that should draw his attention. I've done my part, now it's up to him and his staff to do their usual research.

For those who guessed my clue about a non U.S. iconic venue was Budokan. You were obviously correct . Of course by now, that clue is way over a month long. Wonder why it took so long
Congrajulations Bob, you have correctly picked all the venues. You have done brilliant work again, thankyou for your efforts ! I know its still early in the year but have you heard anything about any UK dates yet?
Way too early at this point for that...I would venture to guess at least August if not later for them to plan anything else. Of course that would depend on when they plan to come back out if at all.
Thankyou very much for your time Bob, and your expertise on Paul

Very interesting. Good job, Carlos! I hope he performs in Rio, there are direct flights from here and it is the cheapest place in Brazil to go from here.

The main website is now calling this the "massive worldwide Out There tour". I think there are going to be more announcements as we head into late summer and fall.

This seems to be his most extensive tour since "Driving USA" and it's World Tour 12 years ago. I find that a little worrying. He has done little pockets of shows and spread them out lately, but now he is once again on a massive multi-date World Tour. Paul will be 72 by the end of this tour. Too much? I hope not, as I have tickets for Dodgers Stadium. At the same time, I hope he is still at 100% by August. Or at least 90%.

He only does about 6 shows per month. He gets rest.

This is by no means a "massive worldwide tour"....These are no more shows than he has been doing since 2009 sans the very short 2012. He's only doing 6 to 7 shows a month which shouldn't exhaust him at all. Only shows that could be a problem are those with short turn arounds (back to back nights) I would think. Everything is set until September...don't sit waiting for more...I think you'll be sadly disappointed. Here's a breakdown of shows from 2009 until now...not really too different 2009- 22 shows 2010- 35 shows 2011- 24 shows 2012- 18 shows 2013- 32 shows 2014- 30 shows

This "Out There" tour has been going on since last year, so by that logic, at 62 shows and counting, maybe that's what they mean by "massive"! Or, perhaps, a bit of puffery to generate excitement.

You could be right, but my point would still be the same because almost every tour spanned over 2 years, I don't find this one any different so far. Of course if he went away from what he has done and there is another big span of shows and he's back earlier then November...then it would be much larger. Wondering if the South America rumors are the same people who claimed he was playing the World Cup? I would place the smart money on Europe/UK being the next stop. He's done South America this year and those regions have been pretty much ignored for a few years. However, let's face it...although I seriously doubt he'd return to South America...it is all about money to the promoters so with that said..anything can happen

Agreed!

My bet is Brazil (and possibly Mexico and Argentina?) in October/November and the American east coast (at least NYC) in December.
-
Paul came to South America in November 2010 and returned in May 2011, which is exactly what he is doing now with Japan: November 2013 and May 2014. Then, in November/December 2011, he toured Europe and the UK. He has also performed in Mexico in November 2002, May 2010 and May 2012. Based on those patterns, I can see two possibilities: 1) Brazil/Mexico in early November, and then Europe/UK in late November and December 2) Europe/UK in November/December, and then Brazil/Mexico in April/May 2015

I could see Mexico/Brazil and probably a few more South American cities in April/May 2015....I think that is highly, highly likely. Actually I would go as far as saying probable. I doubt you'd see it in early November...since 2009 the pattern has been pretty constant...any late shows are usually mid to late November and December As far as New York and or east coast US, I would say don't hold your breath on that one....USA will be done in August I'll stick with the odds on favorite, Europe/UK in Nov/DEC for two reasons..been a few years since there and that fact that he promised he'd be returning to at least Germany and UK this year in that interview in December 2013

I have confidence Paul will do Brazil and Argentina in the next 10 months. "Intuition... takes me there"

Yep. It's an advertising term and refers to ambiguous claims which cannot be disproven.

There's a rumor now of a concert in Rio de Janeiro, at the Maracanã stadium. Considering that he will return to the Budokan, Dodgers Stadium and Candlestick Park, I would not be surprised by that choice, as it was another landmark in his long career onstage: 184,000 people in April 1990, Guinness Book Of Records, etc. Besides, the stadium has been refurbished for the Soccer World Cup, so it's now a modern venue which holds a little over 78,000 people. He should not have a problem turning it into a sold out event, especially if it is scheduled for April 2015, which will mark the 25th anniversary of that record-breaking show.
