Over here in the UK they made the singles available at certain independent record stores. Luckily for me the closest one was quite local to where I live. It cost £10.99 (around $17) per single though, not cheap but totally worth it!!

Here the cds cost $18.99 & then you pay for shipping on the 45 which should be about $5.00. So you guys got off better this time! LOL.

If you're in the U.S., just go to any Best Buy, and buy "Venus and Mars" and WATSOS. Inside of the CD cases, there are codes you redeem at a website, where you send away for the 45s. They're free, but you just need to pay shipping and handling.

Just got the Venus and Mars and Wings At The Speed Of Sound deluxe versions. Wonderful packages but why do they now seem to call the latter just "At The Speed Of Sound" and not Wings At The Speed Of Sound which I always knew it as ???

I was actually given the documentary film Going Underground: McCartney, The Beatles And The UK Counter-culture as a gift and recently finished watching it. Absolutely fascinating. I had already known that Paul was involved with the scene and did a fair amount of experimenting in it even though John gets most of the credit of being the experimental and avant garde Beatle. I did not know, however, just how pronounced and influential Paul's involvement was and - most interestingly - that it predates the involvement of every other Beatle. Its a very well-made film that delves into the structure, mechanics, and atmosphere of the London underground as a whole and shines a bright light on that overlooked part of Paul's creative makeup and historic influence. In the process, this powerful new narrative that it offers challenges the broad perception of Paul as merely someone who keeps to pop, which could have a huge impact on his enduring legacy by leaving room for contemporary re-evaluation and evolution. The film's ending certainly set the stage for this, which is certainly an exciting prospect not just for Paul fans, but Beatles fans overall. I thoroughly enjoyed it all and believe this specific subject should continue to be explored in new books and feature films that will inevitably be made about the Beatles in the future. Lastly, I would recommend it to anyone who's curious about the subject, or the many other ones that it touched upon, such as early Pink Floyd or art movements like the Beatniks.
