CHARTS 2015

I think most of us just want to hear him play the songs from the albums in concert. He has plenty of money and doesn't need the reissues to sell 500,000 copies or something!

Billboard charts: TUG OF WAR n.56 PIPES OF PEACE n.70

That's excellent! Though sales aren't what they used to be.

Actually that's quite disappointing. Almost all previous Archive releases did better. Goes to show they should shelve the FITD reissue and go for LT/BTTE. The 70s were the decade when Paul was still a commercial force and relevant in terms of being his own man and not "the Ex-Beatle" touring mainly on his 60s catalog.

I think "Flowers in the Dirt" also deserves the special attention of being remastered and honored and reissued, though. Excellent album.

That is my point exactly. It doesn't matter how many CD's of Tug and Pipes he sells. By playing a few of those great songs, the real fans find it very exciting. And he gets tons of FREE publicity on new "additions" to the already tired setlist. People aren't interested in watching another U-Tube performance of Hey Jude, but if he played Take it Away or the Pound is Sinking, he would get tons of new hits. You would think he would want to do it for his legacy. Can't believe his kids aren't pushing him to add more great Solo songs for his Shows. And "eventually" it would add to his CD Sales of those remasters. Average People aren't rushing out to the stores to buy the latest Macca Remaster like we are, but if they saw live renditions on U-Tube, they might at some point that is convenient to them.

Per Hits Daily Double -- which doesn't exactly match Billboard but tracks pretty closely to it -- TOW lands at #31 with 6,239 units sold and POP at #39 with 5,250. Pretty decent for reissues, but my have album sales fallen. The only album with sales in six figures is the new Janet Jackson album, at #1 with 105K. http://hitsdailydouble.com/building_album_chart
____________________________________________________ Thanks Bruce. His sales would certainly spike if he played a couple of Tug of War songs (on top of Here Today)at his Live Shows this month. The Internet/u-tube would give him free publicity if he did it. My vote would have been Take It Away and The Pound is Sinking. with the help of his Band, I think he could sing both songs comfortably. Unfortunately, the first show was last night and the answer was "NO". I threw my opinion about this in the Rock Show / Columbus OH Show thread. By the way, he did play Temporary Secretary and 45 seconds (or whatever it's called). Why is he playing songs like that when he has so many better songs including about 8 from Tug. I just don't get it.
Exacly, all of his Beatle songs have tons of you-tube clips. Do something never done before and bingo you create some excitement !! Yep, the worst song on "Tug Of war" is 20 times better that "Temporary secretary" and "45 Seconds" IMO.

"Can't believe his kids aren't pushing him to add more great Solo songs for his Shows" I would love to know what songs his kids like and like I said in another thread, they were growing up when he was a solo artist not a Beatle.

Yeah Mary or Stella once asked him "What was that group you were in before Wings?"

Actually, Stella asked him, "What were in you before Wings?" Paul answered, "Yo Mama." To which Stella replied, "The topology of Yo Mama is very complicated. It involves surfaces which fold back on themselves."

Many folks on this board would be surprised the amount of times youngsters looking at Wings albums in stores would say, "was Paul McCartney in The Beatles?" I heard that a few times.
