Finally the end of the Out There tour?

If I didn't care, I wouldn't bitch. And if my standards are too high, I blame the guy who instilled them in the first place.
Yup!

I have seen 7 Out There concerts over the 2 years. Enjoyed them all. As I did the On The Run shows, Up and Coming shows, and shows before those, back to the 70's. I will see more concerts. I like the Beatles. I like Wings and I like his solo music. I don't particularly care for the man himself. I don't like him very much. I don't care about his clothes, hair, what colour jacket he wears, meat free Monday, vegetarianism, revisionism, Stella's designs or Jim Bob's music, nor the gushing wannabes who get called on stage, the dumb signs, and the general thumbs upping, I CAN HOWEVER APPRECIATE THE MUSIC AND SONGS...and his unsurpassed legacy. And I consider myself blessed to be born in the Beatles era. So I call myself an avid fan regardless of what a few of you think; and I'm going to call it as I see it as long as this remains a discussion board and my arse points to the ground. Until the board rules state this forum is strictly for blind sycophancy and cloying unbridled Paulie worship... You're stuck with me.
"Until the board rules state this forum is strictly for blind sycophancy and cloying unbridled Paulie worship... You're stuck with me." LOL, glad we are stuck with you. You can be a fan and still be at times critical. This board would be boring if every post treated Mr. McCartney as some type of rock God. If people on this board think the criticism is bad here, they should go on a sports team board like my favorite team (NY Yankees) and see how everybody (players, manager, GM, owner etc) gets torn apart by some fans.
Yup!

Why would you possibly spend all that dough on a man you don't like? :

Well he says so in capital letters in his post. He can see past the person and appreciate the music. It's not hard. And the fact he can shows how great a fan he is. Also, there's a difference between a fan and a fanboy. Too many of the latter around here.

When I see Paul in concert, I don't see past the person. I see a fantastic human being. I would not go see him otherwise.
-
When I go see a concert, I go to see artists put their art and music out there for me to listen to and take in. I don't concern myself with whether they are an amazing person or such, because I really don't know if they are or not. I suspect they are human. Anyone who thinks they REALLY KNOW their music idols are living in a dream world.

Good show beatlesfanrandy, I agree & also see how much thought & planning goes into the shows, this all comes out of Paul's head too. He's an entertainer & a damn good one. Lastly I am hugely happy to say he doesn't need me arguing for him, he has made a whole world full of friends.

There is talk that he may not tour for a year. Probably a big misunderstanding BUT I could live with it if he was taking the time off to rework the show & focus on his recent work, the influence of New Orleans, the soulful vocals, the blues, the acoustic guitar numbers. I would give my eyeteeth to go to that concert. Its risky so it makes sense to me that he would approach it gradually as he has been doing, now maybe he's ready to jump into it. I love the show but I've seen it 9 times. Still I could & would go again. I think he keeps the Beatle songs in the lineup because there are tons of people there seeing him for the first time, they would be disappointed if he didn't sing them. A compromise would be splendid Dahling.

Isn't touring for a year? Where'd you hear that?

Well, I don't know. I looked back but don't see anything more specific than guesses on what he said "tour" or "year". There was a post in this conversation somewhere, but hugely unofficial speculation. I think he just ment the end of Out There, next tour starts next year probably in the spring.
-
It wouldn't be the end of the world if some folks had to wait a whole year for Paul to perform. But I suspect that won't happen. As many here have said, I think by May he will be on the road again. Hopefully with a new tour.
-
You have to wonder with what just happened in Paris (at a concert no less), that Paul might just take a year off the road to concentrate on new music. If he had any thoughts of taking the year off before the tragedy in Paris, this could be the final straw towards making that decision. Except for areas where he hasn't toured in many years (e.g. Australia), I personally think it would be good for him to take some time off from the road. And it might be good for the real fans. It might help his voice and also give him much more time in studio. Since he gets a lot of songwriting inspiration on vacations, he would also more free time for traveling. That's what I would do.

I can wait too but I hope not forever. When ever he comes back I'll be lining up to see him. Having thought a little more on the subject,I wouldn't be surprised if Paul started his new tour this Christmas with his traditional Liverpool & London concerts. He really left it up in the air, as if thats exactly where he wants it for now. We will know if he announces a new tour name contest soon.

I said a year, not forever. He doesn't have forever. Time is not on his side, I suspect a year break at most, though rumors are already flying about him hitting the road again in Spring 2016, so forever may just have to wait.
-
He's not taking a year off. He's in the autumn of his life. He wants to make every minute count.
