Thanks for the heads up about water being $5.00 a bottle.....the venues sure know how to get us I can only guess what a slice of pizza would cost. We may not want to eat anything but everyone will want to drink something.
I stop all fluid intake starting 2 hours before Paul's concert starts and onward until the concert is over to avoid having to take a potty break during the concert.

Thisbe211:
That would put Paul on stage at about 8:34 according to the previous report, which is right on time for Paul...
King Macca posted the accurate times: on at 8:29, off at 11:06. (I was close!) Yeah, right on time for Paul. MetLife made a point of always stressing "Paul MAY take the stage at 8 prompt."
Same exact statement in Philly last month, and of course for both DC gigs!

Learned that the hard way at my second Paul show...drank a gigantic soda waiting for the show to start and it hit my bladder around "Eleanor Rigby"...I held it till the end of the main set and ran to the bathroom before the encore...had to listen to the opening notes of "Day Tripper" from the urinal!

Oh my.....thanks for the heads up about fluid intake! I've been fortunate in the past. I may need an ice tea (small, of course) to not get drowsy waiting for Paul to go on. I've always been so mesmerized that I never needed to use the restroom.

Drowsy? Are you kidding?? I am too wired with adrenaline to get drowsy! I don't hardly sleep for 24 hours before AND after a Paul concert. That hour before the concert starts I am literally shaking in anticipation.

Did anyone buy any merchandise last evening? I have been collecting the lanyards which I find useful for my keys and building fob. Did anyone buy the program? Is it worth the money?

He did Junior's Farm during the soundcheck, not the main show. Also just want to say that I've been lurking on the threads about Paul's demise, and about 2/3 of the way through the show the thought of them popped into my head, and I had to laugh because they were so inconsistent with what I was seeing. Paul is still the ultimate entertainer, and I didn't think about his voice a single time the entire show, other than that moment, because his performance was flawless. At least from what I observed up front, there was a tremendous vibe in the crowd, the audience could not have been more excited, and everyone I overheard while leaving talked about how amazing it was (as usual). I'm just not seeing someone who needs to hang it up anytime soon. He might still decide to at any point for his own reasons, but when you're still keeping 50K folks at a time fully engaged, and 200 people pay thousands of dollars just to see your soundcheck and love every second, it certainly doesn't seem necessary. Still the best out there, and I hope I'll continue seeing him for a long time.
thank you for sharing your insight. I know what thread you are talking about and I would also roam on there to read the different points of views and it worried me greatly. It is so nice to read a point of view of someone who was actually there (not just basing everything on clips). He isn't as young as he used to be, obviously, but he is still brilliant.

Yes. Thank you AcresofFun for your post. Seeing Paul is about the experience as a whole, I think.

Great show, as always. Security & Guest Services were top-notch - so courteous and efficient - kept aisles clear without being obnoxious. I was too far away to take photos of the stage, but here's a photo of the audience waving phones during Let It Be. I've got two more shows in Cleveland before I declare bankruptcy!

I arrived at the entrance, just as the show started. From the tremendous roar of the crowd, as the band must of walked on stage, my first thought was that I don't see Paul retiring any time soon!! It was as loud a roar, as a touchdown on Super Bowl Sunday!!! I also didn't think about his voice at all during the show...I was so energized throughout the entire show!! The people all around me were extremely happy, it was so much fun!! Acres of fun!!

I bought way too much considering all the PAUL t-shirts that I have I bought the Program, a t-shirt that said One on One, a necklace that was the heart from the back of the t-shirt and a packet with the badges. I'll try to post them later... I added the flashlight to my phone for this show, it was so cool!!

I didn't get a chance to write my review on here, but better late than never I suppose. Setlist - Regarding the setlist, I was very much pleased. I'd been staying away from the board for a few months prior to the concert to avoid spoilers and, although tempting, didn't look up the setlist beforehand. Some general notes about the concert... -I thought A Hard Day's Night was a great opener and set the mood for the show. -As I heard the opening guitar riff for Letting Go, I was both excited and a bit skeptical if people could hit those high notes. He nailed the higher portion and it sounded great. -I've Got A Feeling was a surprise for me - I was expecting Paperback Writer! -Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five is a personal favorite and always great to hear! -After Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five, Paul played his usual improv piano bit. I thought "come on Paul, we all know the Long and Winding Road is coming next," but he proved me wrong! I was shocked when he played Here, There and Everywhere instead, especially since he had only ever played it with an acoustic guitar. -The In Spite of All the Danger, You Won't See Me, and Love Me Do acoustic set was a complete shock to me. I enjoyed hearing those three, but was especially surprised to hear Love Me Do! I also thought that the farmhouse that was projected onto the metal grid (for lack of a better description?) was unique. I recall that the grid was illuminated in different colors for other songs, but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing another background projection along the lines of the farmhouse. -NEW sounded really strong and was one of my favorites of the night. -The Fool on the Hill came as a complete surprise. -Birthday was another surprise and I enjoyed Paul's joke: "Does anybody have a birthday today?" *silence* "Well, this is for everyone who has a birthday this year." -I thought Paul sang Let It Be and Hey Jude particularly strongly this time. It was great to see the entire stadium illuminated with "fireflies" during Let It Be. -The fireworks during Live and Let Die were awesome, as usual. Some songs that Paul removed from the setlist that surprised me: -Paperback Writer - I honestly didn't expect it to be removed. It's been in his setlist for a while and I thought it was here to stay. Although it's a great song, I'm not opposed to seeing it removed to give some other songs an opportunity for play. -Got to Get You Into My Life - Didn't expect this one gone either. Whether he took it out or left it in, I wouldn't complain either way. -The Long and Winding Road - This one is one of my personal favorites and I wish it hadn't been dropped lol. I understand that Paul likes to freshen things up (has it ever been omitted from a concert setlist since Wings?) though and I certainly don't have a problem with him playing Here, There and Everywhere. -Helter Skelter - surprised this one is taking a break from the tour - it seems as though Paul really enjoys playing it. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. Paul's voice was excellent, on key and the setlist was varied. Great show Paul, and here's to many more! -Rubber Soul13
