And thanks to the 60 million American citizens who saved us from Hillary Clinton.
Amen to this - easily the most corrupt candidate either party has ever nominated.

I know Paul is liberal, and I'm gratefull that he doesn't often shove it in our faces. That being said, I too will she's no tears for her loss.

There is no one who can touch Donald Trump's corruption. Anyone who believes otherwise is simply willfully ignorant and cannot face reality. There have been over 3,000 lawsuits against him for refusing to pay contractors, there is an ongoing fraud lawsuit against him for the Ponzi scheme of "Trump University," there are a dozen sexual assaults allegations against him, there are 75 current business lawsuits against him, he has been fined by the Department of Justice for racist housing practices, he has used his charitable foundation to line his own pockets and those of his campaign, his charitable foundation was ordered to stop operation by the state of New York for being so corrupt, his own son has said that most of the investor money in their organization comes from Russia, he is in considerable deht to the Bank of China, has not paid his taxes in decades,, he has refused to donate to charity, he has filed for bankruptcy four times, he even grifted 9/11 restoration funds from New York City. The tentative Cabinet and staff names he has floated so far include a Goldman Sachs banker, a climate change denier to head the EPA, an oilman and dozens of corporate lobbyists.

Actually, that's well over 61 million who voted for Hillary, nearly a million more than Trump, and growing as more votes come in from California and Washington state. #NoMandate

That's all well and good, but those two states have no more electoral votes to cast. They have all they are going to get. And those two states do not get to decide who is President of all 50 states...no matter how many additional votes they come up with. Giving all the states some say so in the election....was the purpose of the electoral college in the first place. It is the system the country uses. Either work to get the system changed or accept the results. As President Obama said yesterday: "He (Trump) won, get used to it."

There will never be getting used to it for more than half of the voters. I don't like dictators.
-
I try very hard to stay out of political (or religion) threads but some people are making every thread political. Some x members of this site that were Bernie supporters said they would never vote Hillary, that they would vote Trump instead. And...to bring this back to the original post & Paul..as he says...LET IT BE (already).

Tax cuts for everyone & a real promise to actually spur economic growth. I'm not sure we can survive the next 4 years...

I think Clinton is like Mother Teresa compared to her opposition. I'm hoping Trump isn't as bad as many claim. But it's a matter of public record how he got racists all stirred up with his anti-Mexican and anti-Muslim remarks and with how black protesters were treated at his rallies. Now he's appointed racist Steve Bannon to a top position in his administration, and also appointed a global warming disbeliever involved in his environmental affairs office. A man who doesn't believe global warming is real, despite all the evidence!

I for one is most happy when Paul (or any other entertainer) stays out of politics.
-
The U.S. "butcher" album sleeve was a major statement by the Beatles of their criticism of the U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Paul + John were always at the forefront of anti-war movements. Interestingly, it was Paul, not John, that really pushed the butcher cover on Capital records.

I read some things in the paper today which make me feel a little better about Trump, in some respects. He did say, "I'm President for all Americans" or something like that, after he won. I remember he declared "Mexicans and Blacks will have a wonderful time, the time of their lives after I'm elected" at some rally. He left out Muslims but perhaps he'd have added them as an afterthought. It's hard to live with this level of fear and disappointment, so perhaps it's better to seek hope. I know it is. We should appeal to Trump to live up to his highest self, his better nature, in his position of great power. I think that would be Paul Mc.'s stance.

Actually, as I pointed out in another thread, the Electoral College was designed to preserve slavery: http://time.com/4558510/electoral-college-history-slavery/ One can accept the result as the lawful result of the system we have with believing the system is right or the result is sane. Paul was right to support Hillary, and I humbly predict that will be obvious within a year.

The stock markets say otherwise.

Dow Jones average hit its highest number EVER. Took Trump a week. Yea, we're doomed.

Just like it did during the first 6 months of Herbert Hoover's administration. How did that work out? https://leduc998.wordpress.com/2008/05/15/dow-jones-history1920-1929/
