THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL

MetalGod:
I'm gonna wager an announced mid-late August for a Nov/Dec release.
Or perhaps they'll announce it after the Ron Howard doc comes out. That's my prediction.

Possibly.

Paul just signed a world wide recording agreement with Capitol records today. Not sure the impact of the Reissues or if that is still with Concord. Update: Just researched that the world-wide distribution group for Concord Records is UM-G; which owns Capitol. So I think not much is going to change other than the logo and a wider promotional kick.

As the press release concerning Paul's new contract mentions that a plan for his back-catalogue will be implemented in July 2017, I have a feeling the Archive Collection may have reached its end. Which would be a shame, because the big deluxe editions really have been superb - they are beautifully presented, the remastered albums themselves sound as good as they have ever done, and there was lots of interesting bonus material to listen to and to watch. They have been a great way to 'rediscover' the albums as it were. I know fans were complaining about them being released too slowly but it at least gave us something to look forward to every year, and no doubt it took quite some effort to actually put each of these releases together. I hope I'm proved wrong but I get the impression a different approach is going to be taken to Paul's back-catalogue

So flowers in the dirt might be it, at least your take on it?

Also this whole series has been at an ice age glacial pace.
-
To be honest, I'm not even convinced we're going to get Flowers in the Dirt now, but we'll just have to wait and see. I know these archive editions have been released over a very long period of time, but as I was saying in my previous post, items of their nature must take a lot of time and effort to put together.

At least we got WOA deluxe edition and decent Rockshow DVD. I was looking samekind of package from 1990 tour....

We will get that as McCartney has confirmed that it's in the works & Elvis Costello was very pleased with the bonus material

Then it may be more when than if we get it. I still hope for 2016 and not waiting until July 2017 or later.

I hope you're right. I've been looking forward to an Archive Edition of Flowers in the Dirt. I've deliberately avoided listening to it so that it'll be all the more enjoyable listening to the remastered album when it comes out!

Yeah it's true, here's the actual interview from last month. There's going to be so much bonus material! Interviewer- 'I want to lodge just one complaint (Pure McCartney). "Flowers in the Dirt." I could go on and on about what's wonderful about that album. And there's not a song from it.' Paul- 'You know why, because it's about to be reissued. It's our next big box set. We're working on that at the moment. So she would avoid that.' Interviewer- 'Will it be released in its entirety? There are all those songs you wrote and recorded with Elvis Costello, many of them not officially released.' Paul- 'That's one of the real exciting things. Those demos. We're releasing them as part of this package. I'm not sure I'm supposed to be telling you this. . . . It's great that you're a fan of "Flowers in the Dirt." Cause you've got a real nice release coming out. We showed it all to Elvis, and he was just tickled pink.'
-
I'm going to mentally prepare myself for nothing until at least July 2017 and then hopefully be pleasantly surprised.
-
The prospects are looking rather grim for this fall for a release of the Flowers In The Dirt Archive set. Surely it would have been announced by now? Still a sliver of a chance, I suppose.

I read in Beatlefan magazine that because Paul signed with Capitol Records, FITD will be delayed until next year.
-
So Pure McCartney was a front for the 'period' to the Concord sentence deal.

They should rename this project "Dead Flowers in the Dirt."

Just the fact that Paul is revisiting and talking about it after 20+ years is a great surprise! I can wait til July if it really is gonna be released. I wonder if Hamish or Robbie did anything new for the bonus material? I wish he'd dip back and bring "My Brave Face" into a show!

Flowers is back in iTunes. So I'm assuming this means the reissue is officially delayed.

Paul mentioned no FITD songs on Pure McCartney since FITD's re-release is somewhat eminent...I wonder if Paul would release FITD in tandem with Off the Ground, since there is some link between the two (he's done that with TOW/POP and V&M/SOS)...and if that happens, I wonder how it would explain two OTG songs on Pure McCartney (they're on the 4 cd version, but not the 2 cd version)
