Trust me, I hope I'm wrong too but numerous tangible things make me unfortunately confident that we won't see. Nobody wants the album more than me!!!
Hi Bob, do you think early Spring 2018 may be a possible release date, prior to the announcement of next year's tour schedule?
These things are tough to predict Leslie, things are kept very secretive until the last possible minute. I think it's pushed back mainly by what I have heard but it's still a gut feeling. But from what I know, I feel very confident. I'm hoping it comes out as quick as possible so we can also get back to the Archive Collection next year as well
Ok, thanks Bob! Hope it will be released sooner than we think.

I predict it is fake as heck and when that day comes and no single arrives there will be no big surprise

I'm just putting it out there, regardless if this is true or not, rumors usually precede an album release by 2-3 months (i.e Memory Almost Full - when those bogus song titles 'leaked')
-
If it comes out next year, they're still honoring the free album with ticket purchase from this summer's tour, correct?
-
I would say that they will honor it. I'm hoping my friends are wrong for the first time and I'm listening to a new song on Monday. However, if no single surfaces, I will eat meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday out of spite!!

The French Wikipedia article claims there's a duet with Denny Laine on the album. That seems rather... bogus!

Wikipedia has removed the bogus entry according to numerous internet chats

Was really hoping that this would be the one time my sources were dead wrong!! Should have known better, no track record for them being wrong!! But now, Monday I must eat Bacon and Sausage for breakfast Hot Dogs and Hamburgers for lunch And a nice big steak for dinner on Monday in protest of no new single!!!
-
I need to make them feel my pain so I will be starting a new internet campaign MeatLOAD Mondays!!!!! where you eat as much meat as you possibly can on each and every Monday!!!

In all seriousness, these types of hoaxes could never take hold if MPL jus gave fans occasional updates on projects in real time, not months after every internet fan page has reported it. I have suggested this to MPL several times now with no answer and obviously zero improvement I dream of the day where I can receive actual times Paul McCartney news on the official Paul McCartney fan page. I know it's a stretch, but come on guys and girls, how about some actual forward thinking!

I know, right? Look at Taylor Swift - I know she has a different fan base, but the way she announced her new album has stirred up a lot of buzz - first, deleting EVERYTHING from all her social media accounts a few days ago. That caused a reaction. Was she hacked? Was it something else? Then posting mysterious videos of snakes. Then finally, yesterday, the official announcement of album title, release date, and first single, which "drops" tonight, probably on live stream somewhere. And her album is coming out in November, so that's an announcement over 2 months in advance. Hello, Paul?
-
Exactly what I mean, and I did see the way Taylor handled it and liked it! Good on her!

I am for good ways to promote his new album but let's face it, he is 75 and there is very little he can do to create "buzz" for his new release. Taylor Swift is in her 20's and she is in the record buying demographic so these things will work for her.

Well since it very much looks like no new album this year, absolutely no reason to try to create a buzz!!
-
There is no record buying demographic for Taylor Swift - barely anyone in that demographic will want to 'own' music - it's all streaming. Technically you have a bigger McCartney record buying demographic

Unfortunately it looks highly doubtful that we'll get to test that theory out, but Taylor Swift fans will be enjoying a nice, new album

Not necessarily From Billboard: "1989" sold 1.287 million copies in its debut week in 2014, becoming the first album that wasn't a Swift album to reach a million in a week since Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" in 2011. Swift's "Red" and "Speak Now" albums sold more than a million records in their debut weeks, making her the only musician to have three albums do so.
