From Ultimate Classic Rock: Could this be Paul McCartney's new album cover? They say the new song played is "Come Home To Me". I guess we'll find out soon.

Randy, do you know how to make your links clickable? (Or can someone please do it for him? My iPad is not cooperating copying and pasting)
There is also a YouTube video he posted that needs to be made clickable. Thanks.
I gave him directions in another thread. Here is the link he posted.

Egypt Station was the site of a battle in the Civil War, in Mississippi, one in which many Confederate soldiers fought on the Union side. It was also one of the few battles in which cannons were shot off of a train!

Wonder if the Beyonce/Mush Mouth (Jay-Z) secret album slowed down the time frame for Paul?

Yeah, was wondering that too. If he wants a #1, you would have to delay. Could still release a single now though.

My iPad is cooperating now. This is a clickable link to a video beatlesfanrandy posted earlier:

He's making an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden later this week, so my guess would be an announcement of some sort would have to be made between now and then... or maybe even when he's on the show, who knows.
I think whenever the announcement is made, the single/album/tour news will all be given at the same time, or within a very short time.

I still find it very difficult to accept that Paul will release a new album in July or August, and really its far too late for it to be in June.
Just having a very quick look back through his career discography, I think the last album released during the height of summer that Paul was involved with, was Revolver, released in August 1966. Before that album it was Help in August 1965 & A Hard Day's Night, in July 1964. But both those latter albums were soundtracks to films that were released to coincide with the holiday market. As a general rule, sales are always down in the summer months and don't really pick up until the Autumn.
I'm quite mystified as to why he didn't wait until September to crank up the publicity machine. Now does strike me as being a strange time.

Was also the title of one of Paul's own artworks.

#1 may be a far cry. Paul's last US #1 album was Tug of war in 1982 and Flowers in the dirt in the UK in 1989 (although he came close with Flaming Pie in 1997).

He can’t possibly hit #1, with the chart rules as they are in Billboard. He can’t compete with streaming numbers for younger acts, and that’s a key component in Billboards charting formula. Look at the Sgt Pepper example from last year for proof.

Don't forget the album promised with ticket purchases from last year's tour. They will count as units sold I believe.

Maybe just a single will be released now and pre-orders for the album will take place for a September release followed by shows promoting the new music.

Nope, it’s not that simple.
“For a bundled album to be eligible for the Billboard 200, the ticket purchaser has to download or redeem it...About 20 percent to 30 percent of fans tend to redeem their album offers, with most favoring CDs or vinyl over downloads, though nudges on email and social media can drive better results.” - Billboard
